They have office stiff, okay. Hence the second star. Staff is aggressively unhelpful. Called to ask if they have a specific toner cartridge, answer was«check the internet, put our store in and see if it says it’s in the store.» So I did and the internet site had nothing saying whether that particular store did or didn’t. So presumably it didn’t. Or if it did, they lost the business because I never went to find out. Other time, I went to look at chairs. One chair that I thought I might want, was in the box. Some things I couldn’t tell by looking at the box but they wouldn’t open it to let me find out. So I’m like,” I have to buy it and take it home and return it if it isn’t what I want then it’s the same thing right? No joy.

Really basic store… Good location off the highway in Warrenton but since it’s quite small they don’t carry furniture or larger, bulkier items. You have to go online for a good selection because they simply do the have room to stock a lot of options here. A real shortage of computer, wireless, and networking gear, too.

Calling this staples to find out if they have a simple Mac Apple product was like going to the dentist. It took 40 minutes of my time on the phone and the staff still didn’t know what I was asking for. I asked if they could look it up in their system so I knew if they had it or not and I was advised to just order online and have it shipped. Poor service and incompetent staff with zero knowledge.

What the hell!!! I went on line and tried to order a dozen ink pens; a pretty simple task for most companies. When I went to select the«free ship to store» option, the only store that comes up as «my store» is the store in Wenatchee Washington a mere 450 miles away, and no option to select another, closer store. With the new low price on gasoline right now, I figure I could get to Wenatchee and pick up a dozen of these gems(Pilot P-500) for the $ 12.00 advertised price on the Staples website plus about $ 175.00 in gas to make the 7-hour each way journey. Well done folks. I think it may be a good time to retrain the chimpanzees who design and manage your web page. Why on Earth would you not even offer the option to select a store? Even Walmart does that and they are about as indifferent to a customer as it gets(next to Costco of course). These pens are for sale for an additional $ 6.00 at Fred Meyer, Isa thinkin Isa be savin $ 169.00 in fuel and just go there for this major purchase. Well done indeed! Is the consuming public really so stupid that you can actually stay in business with procedures like this? //(~_~)\\ Me

New manager has led to all of the decent staff bailing. After dealing with this asshat, I now can see why. Snippy, little yuptard that is so busy with his Napoleon complex and fitting into the big boy pants of a managerial role, that he forgets the value of skill, knowledge, and good customer service. This corporation has turned into a joke that would rather you buy their moderate to overpriced products online, rather than deal with their understocked brick and mortar stores. If I am going to do that, I will save money by using places that offer better deals. Contacted their corporate office on two serious issues… met with a form letter and no follow up. Really??? Keep your red button and bottom of the barrel employees. I’ll keep my money. ** I really feel for the couple of decent employees stuck there. They are in a bad spot, with no support. I hope to see them in places where they can shine rather in this dismal pit of a retail drone factory, Many locations are shutting down… this store exemplifies why. Can you close any earlier??? Do you want to fail? Sad how things can change.

Staff was cooperative and courteous, but service was INCOMPETENT! Staples diagnosed that the motherboard of my Dell laptop fried. They said the data on the hard drive was safe and could be transferred to another computer. They sold me a Lenovo u310 Ideapad and transferred that data from my old hard drive to the new computer. However, they missed a lot(more than half) of the data when they did the transfer. I went back twice more and each time they found more data to transfer, I have no idea at this point if I got it all. The WiFi card in the Lenovo is defective: I went back to them to complain that the internet connection was slower than my five year old Dell as well as slower than anyone else in my home with older equipment that connected to my home network. They ran it in their store(they did not test it using any online speed tests) and said it looked fine to them. I complained about speed again and they said it was my network not the computer. Because of that I got rid of my internet service and bought an ATT Hotspot from Staples only slightly improving my connection speed and thought I was going to have to live with that slow connection speed. Lenovo has since identified that my computer WiFi card is defective and must be replaced, but Staples had input the wrong sales date(5÷23÷2012 instead of 5÷23÷2013) when registering the sale with Lenovo and so it appears that my warranty has expired. So now I have to produce the receipt with the correct sales date to establish that the WiFi replacement should be done under warranty. When I explained all of the problems that their mistakes have caused me and asked them to save all of the data on my computer so that I could safely send it in to Lenovo for repair, they actually wanted to charge me money to do that job. I have wasted many hours of troubleshooting connection problems; canceled an acceptable internet service on their say so to buy an ATT hotspot from them; have had to jump through hoops to assure Lenovo that the sales date was wrong and prove that the computer is still under warranty; and have worked with a disabled WiFi card for four months because they did not test the connection speed. Staples remains unconcerned regarding their significant role in this debacle. Think twice before using their service in Warrenton.

It is true. This is an office supply place with numerous other services. It doesn’t compete with an Office Depot or Office Max of the kind I am used to in Portland or Scottsdale. However this is here which means you can just stop by. The other side of this is that it wants to impose big city rules. The staff is friendly enough though we were first misdirected. I was first here to purchase a computer for a protected person. The computer was $ 100 more since a sale was over which happens. When I tried to pay with a check from a fiduciary account it was unacceptable. I finally made another trip the next day with a cashiers check. It would not happen with a local business. Today we were in and I picked a ream of paper. I noticed it was $ 3 more on The charge slip than on the prominently displayed shelf tag. There is a rebate and not an instant rebate. To get the posted price I needed to fill out and mail or go online and take 15 minutes figuring out and complying. This place is useful but it is not a local business.
