Great breakfast sandwiches, prepared freshly by a very nice guy for an excellent price. In a world of chain garbage and pretentious coffee shops, this place is fantastic. It has a great family/neighborhood atmosphere and the food was good.

Awesome sandwiches at this spot! We stopped while starving on a cycling trip and this was just what we needed. Unassuming gem tucked off the main road in Waltham. The people were super nice. Highly recommend the chicken cutlet!

I used to be a regular at this place when it was under former ownership. The new owners are very friendly and attentive. Now they offer more of a selection of goods before it used to be a little bare. This place has a lot of promise, the subs are delicious and cheap. You can’t beat that combination. If your in the area give this place a shot.

Been once and never been back. It’s really just a convenience store with a deli in it. Good for grabbing some quick essentials, but maybe not a sandwich on a stale roll unless your in a bind.

This place is a hidden gem. A few short blocks from moody street it’s affordable and delicious. I got the hot pastrami sub with peppers and onions on a braided roll and it was to die for! Francis was very helpful and recommended all the fixings. It was great and for only $ 5.50 it was totally worth every penny.

Watham has some great breakfast spots. This place deserves a spot at the table. It is a store with a deli and 3 tables-small but it punches above it’s weight. Lovely and flavorful omelet and a friendly new owner(did not. know the previous owner.) Off the beaten track and worth the trip.

As a New Yorker, it has been impossible to find a good egg sandwich in MA. This place is legit. The sandwich was awesome, the hash browns were crispy and seasoned well, and as a bonus they use yellow american cheese instead of the white american I’ve found all over New England. I can’t wait to go back and try a lunch sandwich since they use Boars Head cold cuts.

We are moving out of Waltham in about 6 weeks, and I’m so sorry I didn’t know about this place sooner!!! Might be the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. It’s just right — made to order, fresh bagel, right amount of egg, bacon and cheese. I bet lunch is great too. And, the owner seems like a great guy. Go support his local business!

Best steak and cheese all the way to Phili. The food literally melts in your mouth. If you haven’t tried this place yet, you must make it a goal for lunch one of the days this week. Premium ingredients and very reasonable prices. The breakfast starts really early and is a delicious option as well. Definitely a must try!

Being a New Yorker, there is always a special place in my heart for the corner bodega with a deli counter. Like another reviewer wrote, Tedeschi does not get the job done when it comes to deli sandwiches. I prefer to cut out the microwave middleman. Then I saw this place out of the corner of my eye while crossing Newton St, and decided to stop in. I will admit that it took a little while to get my sandwich since it was just the one guy back there, but I’m willing to overlook that detail for the price and yumminess of the food. The beverage cases were a little empty though, so I didn’t really have many options for a drink. Skip the shelved goods, head straight for the sandwich goods.

I depend on Sharma and family so much. They are wonderful folks and the sandwiches are delicious and pretty reasonably priced. They use Boar’s Head meats and cheeses, so the quality is very consistent. Bread and veggies always seem fresh. And I am pretty sure Sharma is the secret heart of this community. He knows everybody by name and keeps everybody happy. The only downside is that I can feel my arteries screaming when I stuff my face with a steak & cheese. If you eat here too often(and you eat what I eat), then you will probably die. But if you don’t, then did you ever really live? It’s nice that they always have fresh milk, eggs, and some other kitchen staples on hand too. The groceries aren’t quite as reasonably priced as the sandwiches, but not having to get in the car and go fight my way through Stop N Shop for that one item that ran out too soon is worth the difference.

I just moved to Waltham and was looking for a place to grab a quick snack when I stumbled across the Newton Street Deli. This place was fantastic! I ordered a Chicken StirFry sub and it was huge. The guy making it was nice and kept asking me what I wanted in it. I came back today and ordered Chocolate Chip pancakes. It was phenomenal! definitely recommend for anyone looking to get breakfast or a sub.

Had the hot pastrami on wheat(no rye!). Excellent! Also ordered an Italian sub and ham and cheese. All sandwiches are large and tasty.

A fun little surprise is located in this convenience store… an awesome sandwich counter. Don’t be fooled by the outside of this place. Inside lives some fresh sandwiches made by super friendly folks. They serve Boars Head meat, cheese and freshly chop the veggies. Apparently they deliver too. Hello new Sandwich BFF.

This place is the bomb-diggity! Even the small subs are pretty huge and full of tasty stuff. I’ve tried the turkey and American cheese and the Italian ones. They come on this really great scali style sub rolls. The staff is friendly and the service is extremely fast. Support this place folks!

Newton Street Deli & Market. well let’s just say Newton Street Deli. Not a whole lot of market, but damn this deli is great. Once I saw the Boars Head cold cuts I knew this place could be a gem. Not only are the lunch subs incredible, but the breakfast sandwiches are quality as well. Anyone in Newton or Waltham should give it a try. Around $ 5-$ 6 for a sandwich, made with extra special care. What can I say, I’m a regular… These guys deserve some more business!

LOVE this place. They only serve the finest Boar’s Head deli meats. The customer service is impeccable and there’s no better place to go for a sandwich in Waltham. Great service, food and price, what more could you ask for?

This is a combination convenience store/sandwich shop and it does alright in both roles. On the shelves is the stuff people need and have to have — just like in most convenience stores. Prices for grocery items and housewares are a bit higher than in department stores but not too outrageous. It’s pretty standard stuff. However, the real attraction of the Newton Street Deli is its sandwich selection. They serve a substantial variety that are made to order right behind the counter. The ingredients are always fresh and even though the service isn’t overly fast, the care they put into each sandwich shows in the always tasty final product. Mmmm. Prices are comparable to other sandwich shops in the area and makes the wait worth it.
