I need to give a huge thanks to Michelle for helping me as a walk-​in with a major hair crisis after I failed, miserably at bleaching my hair. I even canceled plans as I didn’t want to be seen in public! Michelle and Leah worked so hard to make sure the new color was just right and I think we were all surprised how well it turned out! Being that there was so much damage. I am so, so thankful they could see me right away and did such an amazing job!

I just moved to Waltham and had to find a hair salon nearby, as I am now 45 minutes away from the place I’ve been going to for 26 years. Bella was within walking distance to me, so I figured I’d give it a shot. Kelsey was great — very personable, easy to talk to and professional. We talked a few different options and she told me which would be most flattering /​work well with me. I was very happy with the end result and will definitely be coming back!

I have to reiterate how much I love Michelle here. She is always amazing with my hair. And this time I came with an odd request… dying my very dark brown hair into a vibrant purple.
Much to say the least, she had some work to do, but it was totally painless for me. The whole process included my hair getting lightened (okay I’ll say the word… bleach… ahhhhhhh!!! Okay you can stop being horrified now), then purple, and then a haircut to complement my face.
While this was great; Unfortunately, for me the hair color by a specific company I had inquired about which we used did not like my hair type. This is by no fault of the salon. We all have different hair types and various products works in various ways. And to be honest we’re still not sure if it’s the color or the color shampoo I use.
Either way, my front started to fade rather quickly. I let Michelle know what’s going on and she gladly fixed it, especially since my sister’s wedding was coming up. But again, after one shampoo, it did the same thing. Notified Michelle and she ended up remedying it with another touch up with a different manufacturer.
Fingers crossed, hooray! Looks to be retaining the color this time. I also won a raffle contest here via their Facebook page and it just so happened to be a different shampoo/​conditioner set for color treated hair. Low and behold, my shampoo doesn’t appear to be stripping my color anymore. So again, not sure if it’s the shampoo or the color, but regardless, I truly appreciate the effort and time that Michelle put into my now very vibrant and awesomely purple hair!!!

Was excited to get my hair cut here after reading the good reviews. The whole experience while I was there was decent, but I didn’t pay $ 40 plus a 20% tip for a pleasant 30 minutes in a salon. My hair was styled so that I could not tell how poorly cut it actually was. When I got home I noticed several significantly long strands of hair that I needed to trim myself. Then I noticed all the random chunks of hair missing (I had asked for layers). Finally I noticed that the right hand side was shorter than the left. Needless to say, I won’t be giving them my business again. I would not recommend this salon.

I don’t think this place deserve even 1 star, went there after reading the reviews on Unilocal the girl did an awful job on my hair didn’t even blow dry it good and when I asked her to flat iron it she did 2 strips of my hair and she was done for 45 $ there is a lot of good places that they do a better job so disappointed

I just got back from seeing Michelle at Bella Hair. What a sweetheart! She did a great job too.
My stylist of 4 years just moved away. I was nervous about seeing someone new. I have coarse, curly, long hair that needs layering. I don’t trust just anyone with it.
I was delighted by my experience at Bella. Michelle was great about asking questions and really listened to what I wanted. I love my new cut and I will definitely be going back. It is a great feeling to know I can get my hair cut here in Waltham by a friendly and highly skilled stylist. Thanks Michelle!

Just got my hair done at Bella a few days ago, by Michelle. I couldn’t be happier with my hair. Michelle spent a long time assessing, meticulously cutting and styling my hair. She addressed all my concerns and plans with my hair. Two days later after simply washing and air drying my hair still looks amazing :)

— The salon is comfortable and classically styled for a relaxing experience.
Overall: I have finally found a salon and hairdresser that I am comfortable and confident in ! I will be back faithfully.

I just got back from having my hair done at Bella Hair and had a great experience. Michelle did a great job cutting my hair, and even spent extra time thinning out my (extremely thick) hair in the back past their closing time. Both Michelle and the receptionist were very friendly, and the atmosphere of the salon was very warm and welcoming. I’m also really happy with the finished product — my hair looks and feels really great.
Two things really stood out to me as over-​the-​top good service, which is why I give 5 stars:
1) It was raining today. The woman who was having her hair cut ahead of me didn’t have an umbrella. The receptionist offered to walk the woman to her car using her own umbrella so that her newly cut-​and-​dried hair wouldn’t get wet.
2) My hair has been feeling dry lately, so I asked for recommendations on products. The stylist gave me a bunch of samples of conditioners to try, without trying to over-​sell me on anything.
The cut and dry was $ 45+tip, which is really reasonable. I’ll definitely be going here again.

This was the most awkward hair appointment I’ve ever had. My hair wasn’t even completely blown out :(She rushed to go see a friend. The cut itself was rushed as well. For $ 45 + tip, I could just pay a friend. I guess I’ve been spoiled with Japanese salons in NYC. I’ll be heading into Boston next time.

I managed to live a few blocks away from here for almost two years before realizing its existence. I was in need of a new hairdresser so I turned to Unilocal to find reviews for local salons. This place had amazing reviews and the pics looks clean and modern. I booked an appt and was very pleased! My hairdresser was Michelle and she did a great job. It was $ 35 for a cut and blow dry which is great.

First, I’ll start off with the atmosphere. This space is well laid out. It has a very quiant little seating area decorated with pillows and tons of magazines to read. This was helpful, since my GF was getting her hair done while I waited.
The staff was super friendly. They directed me to sit with my GF while she was waiting for her foil-​wrap-​hair-​thing to set. Yeah, I don’t know, she looked like a Transformer for about 20 minutes. Anyway, they really made us feel welcome. The entire place was just full of life and energy. In our first visit, we’d felt like we’d come here for years. The staff was just super nice and the girl doing her hair, who I believe was named, Michelle, stayed an hour past closing to finish her hair. We felt awful, but Michelle insisted it was ok.
This is an awesome place! You can tell the owner took alot of time decorating the place to give it a certain energy and vibe. I will assume she was very particular about choosing her staff, because they seemed to fit in just right with the energy level!
This is a place you should go! I rank this as one of Moody Street’s hidden gems! And it’s right next to Shoppers Café if you want to get a beer while you’re girlfriend’s hair is drying, and check on the score of the game! Not that I would do such a thing. :)

I went to this salon with a groupon offer. I walked in and was greeted by the receptionist who is also a stylist. She was pleasant. The salon was neat and clean. My stylist was with a client when I got there. She greeted me and had me walk over to the shampoo sink. I found it a little odd that she didn’t use a cape when shampooing. I had a conditioning treatment and I really think that it was just regular conditioner and then she put me under the dryer, but I could be wrong. Today my hair felt no different or softer than it usually does. My cut came out great. Just enough layers and no more dead ends. I got my hair dried and i walked out the door. I am not sure if I would go back here because it was really no different than walking into a supercuts for the groupon price.

I saw Michelle for color and a cut and it turned out beautifully. My roots are wonderfully blended and and natural looking and my cut is exactly what I asked for.
Michelle took a while to warm up to me but was pleasant enough. Salon is small and comfortable. Could use a bit of a clean, but I have high expectations :).
I will definitely go back.

The staff was extremely friendly, and it is so reasonably priced. I have really difficult hair and they were able work with it. They take walk-​ins. The place is really nice inside too.

I’m a guy, and I have never had my hair cut at a «salon,» and after going to Bella I feel like I’ve been missing out for the last few years. The place was nice, and the haircut (a low fade) came out perfectly. I’d strongly encourage guys in the area to check out Bella Hair… Great place.

I have been going to Bella Hair for about a year, after my old roommate and a friend both referred me. I was looking for a new salon to call home after moving to Waltham a couple of years ago. Leah does a great job with both color and cut! She really listens to what you want and I am always happy when I leave! The salon is very cute and the staff is friendly! I highly recommend Bella Hair!

Bella Hair is my favorite place to get my haircut, I won’t go anywhere else! I have been seeing the same stylist for the past year and he is absolutely fantastic! They never try to push any of the products they sell there on you. They do a great job, they are clean and very trendy. They have a refer a friend program so bring a friend! They do all the usual hair salon things, haircut, style, coloring etc. They also do makeup application. A great cut for 35 can’t be beat!
