This salon is conveniently located in the heart of Walnut Creek next to the parking garage on Locust street.
This review is for Casey.
I called last minute on a Sunday and was able to get an appointment for a cut with her.
She was super friendly and listened to what I wanted. Showed her a couple of pictures for examples and she brought my vision to life. I asked for four inches taken off but she started with just a couple inches at a time and worked her way up to make sure it was what I wanted.
She was also very thorough in making sure my layers were evenly cut and made sure to get rid of all the unhealthy lifeless hair I had coming in.
I love my hair! It’s so much lighter and just gives me a different look. Super glad she could accommodate last minute.
Casey works Sunday’s and will sometimes go out of her way to see you on a weekday if you become a regular.
She’s got great energy and makes sure you leave happy!
I’d definitely recommend her and the salon.

After several years of hopping around from hair stylist to hairstylist, and almost always leaving feeling disappointed, I finally had a really great experience! Danielle was recommended to me by a friend and she was great! I could tell she was really passionate about her craft and she seemed very knowledgeable about the latest techniques etc. She took the time to make sure she understood exactly what type of cut I wanted before she started. And it was definitely a huge bonus that she has a friendly, bubbly personality! I will definitely be going back. Thanks Danielle!

I’ve been to about 8 salons in the past year and have never found anyone as talented as Serena. She has fixed my hair twice after being messed up by other salons and I’m proud to say that I no longer have to look anywhere else for someone I can trust with my hair. If you’re looking for someone who is extremely talented for an ombré, baylage, or any coloring, Serena is your person!

I moved to NoCa 4 years ago from WA state. I absolutely loved my hairstylist there and was extremely anxious about finding someone new. I keep my hair long & have a very basic cut but the coloring is what concerned me the most. I found this salon by googling best hair colorist in the East Bay.
My first appointment was great! Rian knew exactly what I wanted from cut to color. I’m so fortunate to have found Rian. I see him ones a month & he knows exactly what I want every time. I don’t know what products he uses but my hair has never been healthier even with all the coloring. I highly recommend Marsha Tobias Salon & Rian!

Absolutely LOVED Vonetta from Marsha Tobias salon. If you have curly hair, she is the best. I went in for the first time today and got my hair deep conditioned and blown out ~ I have gone to Dry Bar and other blowout specific hair salons, yet this was the best blow out I ever had. She even offered to have me come back in, on her time, to curl my hair and match it with my extensions later that day. I have never had better service or been happier with my hair.

After getting screwed by another salon, Marsha Tobias came to the rescue! Very nice and understanding, took us last minute and gave us the royal treatment! Immaculately clean salon, incredible staff. Crunch time before a wedding and they did perfect makeup AND hair extensions. After we freaked out after the other salon, they welcomed us in, gave us a glass of wine, and treated us VERY well. So I’m on month 3+ now and my hair is still pretty straight and soft! It’s grown significantly faster than before now that I haven’t been using hot irons and breaking off the tips. I’m going in for another blowout with Vanetta on Tuesday because it’s starting to get a wave to it and I don’t want to wait until it’s wavy enough to need to straighten it and cause damage again to my now healthy hair.
Helpful note, don’t use a home box dye to dye your hair without prior advice, right after I used it about a week ago is when it started getting a little bit of wave back. I was warned to be careful with which chemicals to use and probably didn’t choose the correct brand of dye so I take fault for that one, but it’s still pretty so I don’t regret it

Went to this salon for the first time today based on Unilocal reviews and had a great experience with Vonetta! She’s very friendly, and nice and did a wonderful job making my wavy/​curly hair silky straight and smooth with a blow dry, flat iron and color. She’s prompt, attentive and knows her stuff!
She recommended the Brazilian blow out that I may try on my next visit with her to maintain my silky hair !
I will definitely be back. She’s a rare find in this area for Black women who want to get their hair done!

Came in on Mother’s Day for a nice surprise from my husband (Yes he made my appointment. What a nice guy!!) and my oldest daughter, Kayanna. We got to hang out and get our hair did! Lol. It was her very first time putting color in her hair. A young lady named Amy worked on her and did an excellent job. I specifically asked for nothing too drastic, just some highlights to give her hair some texture and dimension. My daughter was so excited! She loved it!
The young lady that worked on me, her name is Casey. She also did an excellent job. I love that she took her time to talk with me first about what I wanted. I basically just needed to revamp my Bayalage/​Ombré highlights. So she did just that and a trim. Overall it was a nice, relaxing appointment. We were the last customers in the shop. But both girls did not rush and that I absolutely appreciate!

You MUST go to Ana for color. Recently single and the only thing I hadn’t checked off the breakup list was ‘new hair’. You’ve gotta get new hair after a breakup. It’s practically scripture. Not only did she fit me in (last minute on a SUNDAY of all days) but she gave me the most beautiful balayage — dark red fading into copper — and trimmed up my super split ends into light lovely layers. So so cool! She’s a great conversationalist and that really made for a wonderful and relaxing experience. I feel like a million confident bucks, and it’s all thanks to Ana!

I highly, highly recommend this salon! The salon space is lively, and everyone who works there is helpful and kind.
Knowing practically nothing about hair, but wanting a fun, vintage-​esque style for my Senior Banquet, Vonetta was (and forever will be!) my go to!
Vonetta was incredibly delightful and accommodating, even as I scheduled an appointment super short notice. She works efficiently and has a genuine knowledge of what kind of hair you have, and how to work with it.

Third salon I’ve been to in WC since moving to the area and I really like this place so far. Amada is very detail oriented and warm.
The staff in general is warm — — a stark contrast to the staff of Phoenix Salon (although my stylist there was very good and knowledgeable too) but just for the general atmosphere, I think this place gets my vote.

I went into this salon for a blowout and makeup for my engagement photo shoot. Serena did my blowout and makeup and did an amazing job! Everyone loved my hair and makeup! My photographers complimented me throughout the session saying how natural my makeup looked and how well it photographed!
I will go to Serena for all my bridal and special occasion needs! She was wonderful, I highly recommend her for hair and makeup!

I went in for my Friday afternoon appointment and I am obsessed with my new ombré hair color. Serena knows what she is doing and knows how to master the hair color you are trying to achieve.

I love this salon. It’s beautiful on the inside and everyone there is so nice. Especially the owner.
Serena Sforza is who I go to on a regular basis. She is very professional and she always has gotten it right the 7 or 8 times that she’s done my hair. I love how I explain something to her and she knows exactly what I’m thinking. I don’t trust anyone else to touch my hair except her. I’ve tried out several different colors and styles and she’s done it perfect each time. If you go to her you won’t be disappointed!
She also is amazing at doing my make up as well. She’s very talented and loves to do what she does. And on top of it all she’s well priced.
