Great place to visit with the family on a nice day. There is a basketball court, 2 tennis courts, a volleyball court(I think the only outdoor one on Wallingford) and a slide and swings for kids. There’s a pavilion that can be rented out and a ball field, too. The walkway is well-maintained and a nice walk. The trail is about 2 miles round trip, so it’s not overly far.

Convenient, not overly busy, nicely maintained. Overall a nice place to run, or walk — as previously mentioned not many bikers or dogs. Although you are walking parallel with the Merritt it didn’t bother me any. Wear bug spray! First time there I didn’t realize I was walking through wetlands. Tons of mosquitoes!

an easy walk, paved trail, some pretty scenery if you ignore the highway next to it, meditation labyrinth, river, bridges, etc. sometimes we stop here on the way home from a trip for a quick walk, it is easy off and on rt 15 right there. lots of friendly people hiking and not too many bikers or crazy dogs.

I have used this trail for solo runs and family walks/bike rides. It’s a mostly flat, paved trail that runs parallel to the Merritt Parkway. There is also a basketball court, small playground, baseball field, and covered pavilion.

This trail would be 5 stars if they had a dog park! I love this place. I always take my dog here, where he runs into tons of other puppies and people walking. It’s always crowded, but not to the point where you can’t go about your walk/run easily. The path is very wide, with room for everyone. There are markers telling you your distance, and the scenery changes along the way. There are wooden fences, benches, plaques with facts about the park, bridges, and a breakaway to go by the river. The park at the end usually has a basketball game going on, or a picnic under the pavilion. It would be the PERFECT place for a dog park in Wallingford, since so many dogs are there all the time and there isn’t one very close to there. Go check it out, it’s a really nice place to go walking!

Also known as Community Lake Park, this represents phase 1 of the Quinnipiac Linear Trail project in Wallingford. Although the current trail is 1.25 miles one way, plans are in the words to expand the trail all the way up the Qunnipiac River to the Quinnipiac River Gorge and trails in Meriden and then 4 miles down to North Haven. I enjoy this particular trail. It’s nicely paved and wide throughout the entire trail so you can easily walk, run, bike and blade without getting stuck in crowds of people. The 2.5 mile round trip trail makes it very easy for me to get back into running. There are benches on both sides of the trail if you need to take a break. It’s a very pretty trail in the spring and summer months. You don’t even realize you are that close to the Merritt Parkway. This park also has a basketball court, two tennis courts, a playground, a few picnic tables, a shelter, a ball field for little league and a sand volleyball net. There is also a nice grassy area for sitting and sunbathing or picnicking. Wallingford does a fantastic job of keeping the area clean and the grass mowed. Even when there are ball games and the park is crowded, it’s not a loud, overwhelming experience. There is ample parking however during the week, the parking lot is an overflow lot for Amphenol across the street. I definitely recommend coming here for a nice walk off the town streets and sidewalks.
