Central Barber Shop

This is where you go to get your haircut in Wallingford. It’s everything you want from an old-​school barbershop. The place has been around forever for a reason. The staff have fun and joke around with each other, and give exceptional haircuts. There can be a long line sometimes, but that’s only because a place of this quality attracts a great number of loyal customers. Well worth the wait.

I don’t come one Unilocal often to do these things but after getting my hair cut by Cody on ⁷⁄₁₇ I had to jump on and 5 star this place. Its an authentic barber shop with great banter and fresh, straight razor line ups! Cody is the man. Ask for him its well worth the wait. This place its awesome I will be back. FYI — I got a cut, a line up and my beard trimmed and lined up for $ 22 bucks out the door!!! Best deal in town!

My boyfriend was looking for a good barber shop his dad used to go here, so he deiced to try it out. He loves his haircut, I think he looks very professional now. He will be going back and would recommend it to anyone to try them out!

This is a REAL barber shop. There is a striped pole out front, which, in itself may not prove it, but how many «hair salons» do you see with one? Fact of the matter is this is the place to go if you’re a man and don’t wish to be surrounded by estrogen-​fueled soap operas. All the old men gather here and talk sports, politics and other news. If the Man Show had ever done a segment on a real man’s barber shop, this would probably be the winning entry. This is not to say that women are not welcome, they most certainly are, but many of us grew up going to the barber, while the salon was for our mothers and sisters. The staff are all graduates of barber college, although at least one of them is double-​certified in hairdressing as well, and yes, there is a difference. I recommend Central Barber Shop wholeheartedly and will be continuing to utilize their services for my son and for myself.

This is quite simply THE barber shop in town. Accept no substitutes. Check the newspaper clippings on the walls if you need further proof. Younger patrons tend to skew toward Glen, but any of the guys will give you a great cut. Support a local business and enjoy yourself in the process!
