Dugyot, Dugyot, Dugyot, Dugyot!!! For my non Ilocano speaking Unilocalers. It means dirty. This lunch wagaon is located in the back of Waipahu Festival Market runned and manage by two older Filipino men. These guys are great cooks. Food here is excellent. The hamburger steak is the best on the island. So when they say«The Best Hamburger Steak on the Island» they can back it up. But… I think the food here is good because of the special Ilcano MSG called Dugyot seasoning. The first time I tried this place. I ordered the Hamburger Steak. I saw one of the TATAS cutting some cherry tomatoes. Then all of a sudden I hear HA-CHOO!!! I turned around clock my head to one side and said GODDAMMINT!!! He just sneezed!!! Good thing he caught him self in time and sneezed in his hand. That makes it all good right? I mean he did blow his nose in a paper towel and wiped his hand. That’s good right? Hell NO!!! After cutting the tomatoes I see him proceed to make rice. I clock my head the other side and said«AWWWDAMN!!! Well at least he not making my food. And keep in mind folks after he sneezed he never wash his hands. Like a good hard working Filipino he was focused on his task. No germs will stop him from cutting those tomatoes!!! On my second visit. I just got done working out at UFC and I wanted something good the eat at Waipahu. I remembered the Hamburger Steak. Very delicious and tasty. The gravy they have makes this hamburger steak special. I place my order and noticed the other gentleman take out a container of Hamburger meat. I see him scoop the meat with his hand and forms the patties. I clock my head to one side and said. «I don’t think he washed his hands?» «AWWWFUDGEIT!!!» That won’t kill me. Or will it? I take my order back home. And I’m watching WWE on my dvr. Savoring every bite as I watch the Big Show take on Kevin Owens. Then… all of a sudden. In my mouth I feel something stringy. Must be the sinew on an onion or something. I pull that«thing» out and it’s piece of hair. Not one… but three!!! And it was white. There goes my lunch. These cooks are likable guys. Very friendly and hospitable. But are just too lazy to follow the simple ethics in food in safety. As stated earlier the food here is GREAT just make sure you get your vaccination shots before you go… because you will never know how your body will react to the DUGYOTSEASONING.
