This place is pretty gross. It’s close to where I work and I want it to be a good convenient place for lunch or dinner but it really is bad. There is never anyone in the restaurant which can be a bit weird. The take out is too fast, like it’s just sitting there and they threw it in the microwave while on the phone with you. If you’re in a pinch is edible but I would definitely find somewhere else if you don’t need to eat there

Back in the day it was a nice place to go but not any more. Never anyone in the place. Think most of the business is take out. They skimp on the food. Just gives off a bad vibe. Was just reminded of a cat story. Eek! I feel there is no pride at the Phoenix. So I say PUPU!!!

I have eaten here plenty over the years. I think the sushi and Japanese side of the menu is excellent and the Chinese side is ballpark middle of the road. My kids always love it and I’ve never gotten sick like that other guy.

Phoenix is fairly priced and has decent sushi. Most of the staff is difficult to understand. The food and service are acceptable.

Not bad but the atmosphere is a little depressing though I must say that I did go at an odd hour. The food was good and the service was pleasant. It’s the Hamptons so not a lot to compare it to but I would go back if I was craving some Moo Shou Pork again.

Not very good at all. I think they have a lunch special so it may be OK then but went for dinner and the food wasn’t good. Service was very slow, as well.

I like this place. Ordered egg roll and broccoli lunch special to go. Food was very fresh! The egg roll barely had any pork in it– it’s basically all veg, as is the fried rice in the combo. Other than that, I have no qualms. Seasoned very well; broc sauteed perfectly! I’d go back. A hair pricier than anticipated.

Gross! Infested with ROACHES! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone! We went to grab lunch after we were served and halfway through our meals we saw this roach looking straight at us! So we flagged the waiter and when we informed him that there was a roach, he gave us this dirty look. Really?!! This place is beyond gross and the floor is sticky. The bathroom was also disgusting.

My Fiancé and I went here yesterday for a late lunch. I should have realized something was not right when the restaurant was nearly empty. Still, I figured off season in the Hamptons during the week for lunch would account for this. Not to mention there are few, if any decent Chinese restaurants here and even fewer that were reasonable that are not take out. We took a chance. MISTAKE! While it did not taste bad initially, my sesame chicken tasted sour… very sour so I did not eat much of it. The fried rice was salty with almost no veggies or much of anything else in it. My Wonton soup was very salty and my coke tasted watered down. The scallion pancake was very dry and lacked flavor. My Fiancé’ said that his Phoenix Beef was rather bland and something«tasted off». The server was pleasant enough as he packed up the leftovers(not sure why we took them but oh well) but then noticed the employee making the sushi was not wearing plastic gloves. My Fiancé is in the food industry and he was very disgusted. Who knows where this guy’s hands had been? If we had not already decided never to go here again, the both of us getting very sick,(me with horrid stomach pains and my Fiancé vomiting violently and taking to bed for the rest of the day) would have been the deciding factor. This place needs to be closed by the health department or visited by Robert Irvine’s Restaurant Impossible. GROSS! If you wish to avoid being poisoned, pass this place by and cook your own Chinese food!

Me and my boyfriend ordered in from here one night. I honestly did not have high hopes for moderately to low priced Asian cuisine in the Hamptons, but this was worse than I ever possibly could have anticipated. When the delivery man arrived, I signed the check, gave him a $ 4 tip, and made to close the door, when he stuck his foot in, preventing me from doing so, and demanded a higher tip. I was so shocked that it didn’t occur to me to call for my boyfriend, so I told the delivery man that a tip was optional, and I didn’t have to raise it, and tried to close the door again, but he once more prevented me from doing so. I ended up just giving him the tip he asked for because I wanted him to get off my property. When me and my boyfriend unpacked the food, I discovered that the soy sauce from our sushi had spilled all over the bag in transit, leaving me with a mess to clean up and no soy sauce. The sushi frankly did not taste like sushi, and the steamed chicken from our entrée tasted like silicon shaved off of a breast implant and boiled in chicken stock. The sauce that came with the veggie dumplings tasted like someone had smoked a cigarette in it. There are very few delivery options out here, but I can say with certainty that I will never ever order from here again.

I am actually giving it a ¼ of a star for having air conditioning. The food was a horror show and the waiter was a real dick. If he cracked a smile I would of given him 10% but he was pissed I bothered him when I asked him for a drink refill. When I got my spring rolls and cut them in half the oil poured out of them and you could tell it was old oil that should of been changed months ago. I just can not find anything good to say about this restaurant. This place was dirty, filthy and they were cleaning string beans and veggies on the dinner tables next to where they sat us. The table was sticky and nasty and when I asked him to clean it for me and all he used was a dirty wash cloth. The whole over all experience grossed me out and paid the bill and then went to Nichol’s for a meal. So avoid this place like the plague or if you decide to eat there bring a roll of paper towels, windex to clean your own table and really LOOK at what your eating.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I’ve visited this restaurant several times and sometimes the experience is pleasant, and sometimes it’s not. First of all, the setting of the restaurant is nice. There are plenty of tables, fairly large tables too which I do like. Perfect for when you have a large party or when you order a lot of food. LOL. Lighting has always been dim, but the restaurant has large windows all around the front of the restaurant which brightens the dining area. There is plenty of parking spaces as well. Service has always been great. No complaints what so ever. The menu is a mix of Chinese and Japanese. They have your typical dishes such as beef and broccoli, all the fried goodies, etc. etc. They also serve sushi, which is a little odd, but hey… it works for them. Quality of food varies from time to time. For example, I tend to order sushi every time I’m there. I rarely eat sushi anymore, so if the opportunity comes along, I definitely take it. Unfortunately, sometimes the sushi doesn’t taste fresh. It’s irritating since you are paying $ 12-$ 14 for a roll. Other times it taste delicious. The Chinese food itself varies as well. One time, the person i was with ordered sesame beef and the beef was really hard. We weren’t happy with our meal that night. One thing for sure is that presentation of the food is quite impressive. I kid you not, they make flowers out of carrots & other vegetables. The food looks so pretty that you don’t even want to eat it. LOL I would say the price range of the food is a little pricey compared to your typical Chinese take out joint. But hey… it is in the«Hamptons». I don’t mind paying that much for the food, I just wish they would be more consistent with the quality of their meals.

I really hate writing bad reviews, but it is my duty as a Unilocaler to inform the masses. I’m not a huge Chinese food fan, but I was fine with going to Phoenix because they have Japanese food, as well. My dad started off with 2 fantail shrimp that looked more like corn dogs… obviously there was no corn, but there was definitely more breading than shrimp. My mom and dad each ordered general tso’s chicken(I know, such health nuts;, my boyfriend ordered scallops and shrimp with vegetables and I ordered 3 pieces of salmon sushi, a salmon avocado roll and a crunchy spicy tuna roll. My parents got chicken whose meat to breading ratio was suffering the same problem as the shrimp… I usually steal of piece of tso’s, but what was sitting on their plates didn’t look appetizing at all. There wasn’t a lot of sauce, the sauce«tasted weird», and it didn’t look crispy at all. Take note that what I ordered above is not what I received. I know I didn’t make any mistakes with my ordering because I pretty much order the same thing every time I get sushi. What was on my plate was 3 pieces of salmon sushi(correct), a salmon roll(wrong) and a crunchy spicy tuna ANDAVOCADO roll(wrong!!). Crunchy spicy tuna and avocado? It was actually the only part of the meal that wasn’t disgusting, but I don’t think I ever would have thought to order that combo. The salmon tasted fresh, but I couldn’t eat it because it was room temperature and that grossed me out. Same problem with the salmon rolls and the seaweed for both rolls was really tough. My boyfriend ate them so they didn’t go to waste(just in case Kristine R is reading this), but he’ll eat anything. The dining room was empty, so the waiter sat our party of 4 at a table for 5. Want to make the vast expanse seem um, vaster? Stick your only customers at a huge round table with an empty seat. There were many empty tables for 4 and my mom is so neurotic that she had to put the 5th chair somewhere else before she could sit down. The decorations lean towards the side of upscale Chinese restaurant and are a far cry from the bright red booths that previous owners had, but something’s missing(besides customers). A vacant sushi bar was in one corner and seeing all of the wrapped pieces of raw fish through the window explains why mine was room temperature(I was hoping it was refrigerated when I ordered). For music, a top 40 station. In addition to everything, they don’t have their liquor license yet. This wasn’t an issue for me, but my dad can’t fathom a meal without wine or beer, so this greatly upset him. Get your act together, Phoenix, it’s really sad when you’re the only sit down Chinese food place and the only place with a sushi bar(that I can think of) and you don’t have any customers. This is a direct reflection of you, your horrible ambiance, bad service and awful food.
