I wish I could like this place because it is so conveniently located, but no. I order often and more than half the time they mix up the order, or they leave something out, or they forget to bring utensils or the dishes are just bad… bland, flavorless veggies, soggy dumplings, brown sauce either tooo strong or too mild(different every time). They also charge you randomly… like they will just round up or down at will depending on who is there… I ordered the same thing a few times in a row and never once paid the same amount for the order. I don’t expect much from chinese takeout, but this place is truly disappointing… They could really step up the quality of their food and service. The only thing I think is good are the staff are friendly as far as I’ve seen.

A gross bug in my food that I ate and spit out! So this review is more of a public service announcement. Don’t ever go there. The place is dirty and when I informed the owner that there was a roach in my food, he wouldn’t give me my money back!!! He grumbled some half apology and told me I can have a credit. If I owed this place I would be so ashamed if someone at a bug in their food. Disgusting. Here is a photo:

not a very clean takeout place, gloomy not nice staff, dirty counter table, Previous server was extremely rude, saw him throw a pint of white rice at an elderly lady. Avoid this takeout, go to Phoneix in Wainscott, or Best Taste in Amagansett

We all need to get Chinese delivery at some point. Do NOT give your business to chinatown restaurant in EH. Sure, we all just expect the usual quality from these places, but this place is TERRIBLE. How can anyone mess up sautéed veggies? I dunno, but these guys will send you broccoli green beans etc overcooked beyond recognition. Mushy and brownish. And fried rice? they take steamed rice and add something that makes it look yellow(spanish rice powder from the supermarket?) Not fried. not seasoned. its just rice. And they add a few frozen peas to it. Oh yeah, whatever you order from them they will get the order wrong. and the woman on the phone who takes orders is a B@#!*CH!

Hey, it’s Chinese take out, what do you expect, Shun Lee? But the kid doesn’t know how to take an order. He’s probably too young to work. Surly, too. Probably could use a spankin’. The hot and sour’s not bad, though.

I placed a large takeout order here for my last night in the Hamptons. When I placed the order a kid answered to take my order. After giving him my list of items he hung up without getting my name, taking my number, or telling me how many minutes it would take before my order would be ready. I hung up puzzled but was told my my ex, «Yeah, they do that sometimes.» So I drove over. They are located near the Middle school right off the main drag in the town(behind a store front down a driveway). My daughter and I waited for a few minutes before they gave us our order(3 california rolls, 3 spicy california rolls, a rainbow roil and an order of Moo Goo Gai Pan). The bill was just shy of $ 54.00. Way, way higher than I am accustomed to paying for take-out Chinese in Atlanta, but perhaps typical for the Hamptons(where everything, to me, seems overpriced). One thing that bothered my is the kid(presumably the one who brusquely took my order) asked me how much soy sauce, pickled ginger and wasabi I wanted for the sushi. I was puzzled and said something like«I don’t know, I guess the typical /allotted amount.» The kid then proceed to pull out a box and pick those things up with bare /un-gloved hands(particlulary bothersome was digging into a bowl with bare fingers to extract the wasabi). Not very sanitary; however, perhaps I should give him the benefit of the doubt and assume his hands were freshly washed and sparkly clean. Once I got the food home, everyone was happy with the food. My Moo Goo Gai Pan was swimming in sauce to the point that it looked like a soup or a stew; however, dumping in a lot of white rice(in an extra container provided gratis with the dish) served to soak up all the exra sauce. Soup and egg rolls were not included and are likely available with an up-charge. Perhaps deserves 2.5 stars, but the no gloves thing with the wasabi /ginger bothered me so I will round down to two.

I gave this place one star because Unilocal does not allow you to post without a rating. Absolutely the worst fast food Chinese takeout in the world. Not only were the chicken wings old, but so were the spareribs. I might as well have gnawed on a piece of leather. To make everything worse, I saw the lady behind the counter pick up something off the floor with the tongs that she used to take meat out of the fridge with. It seemed like she didn’t even care if I saw her. Stay far, far away from this awful, awful place. YOUHAVEBEENWARNED!!!

The first couple days of our stay in East Hampton were, unfortunately, rainy and cold, and this place came very highly rated by our host who has lived in the area for years. I ordered two different entrees and sides, and was very satisfied with all. Prices are very reasonable, portions are large, and every ingredient was prepared perfectly. Really good Chinese-American salty-sweet take-out. A guilty pleasure without any regret! Although there is a $ 2 delivery fee, it’s definitely worth it, these guys are super swift!

I just went here, and had a fairly enjoyable Shrimp Lo Mein with Fried Rice and an Egg Roll. When they gave me my food, they forgot the egg roll, but were quick to fry one up when I pointed out the omission. While this was my only meal at China Town Restaurant, it would appear to be your standard Chinese-American food restaurant. If you’re looking for something authentic or that would appeal to your inner foodie, you’re going to be disappointed. But if you’re in the mood for your typical Chinese-American restaurant cuisine, as I was tonight, you’ll probably end up satisfied.
