Really good place to relax and eat and enjoy. We had stuffed avocado and it was the best I have ever had. Then smoked chicken nachos, later Crème Brûlée — oh my gosh. Come try it!

Try the Moscow Mules and spicy margaritas, superb! The Alyssa Flatbread and Alyssa the server were both great. We are trying to plan our day so we can come back for a stuffed avacado and more cocktails. Love the atmosphere, not what you might expect in Waco, Tx.

My fiancé and I are currently in an Austin-Dallas long distance relationship. So, this week we decided to meet in Waco, middle ground for the two of us, and boy were we excited to find this little gem! Nestled inside Hotel Indigo, it’s a small little hotel bar with a few tables and patio seating along the river(I presume. It was too cold to go outside, so I’m not positive, but the name leads me to believe it does). You can seat yourself, so that’s an extra plus. We went at 9PM on a Saturday night so it was not too busy, but the service is top notch. Bryce, our server, greeted us with a smile, chatted us up about the hotel and restaurant, and helped us make the best choices of food and drink. He also greeted a group of ladies who walked in after us, who knew his name, leading me to believe that his excellent service brings regulars through the door. We got the stuffed avocado(great smokey flavor, a tad on the salty side) and the sopapilla cheesecake(OMG, HEAVEN!). To drink, I got the Kiss of Jasmine(not too sweet, not too bitter, just right). Next time we meet up in Waco again, we will definitely be staying at the Hotel Indigo so that we can be within walking distance to this lovely bistro.

I tried this place out last week for lunch. It wasn’t crowded at all(maybe 3 tables). The lady that waitresses there, is very inattentive(sorry I don’t know her name, but she was not on the level of her manager or anyone else). Her manager did all of her work for her. All she did was bring my water. Never checked on me, until at the end to see if I was ready for the bill. Her service was BAD and I didn’t really like the fact, that she was probably getting the tip that her manager deserved. He on the other hand was very attentive and friendly. He upheld the higher scale feel of the place, whereas she could have worked at a fast food restaurant. On to the food: I ordered the ½ rack Dr. Pepper ribs, slaw, cheese mash and the queso and chips as appetizer. The queso was real good. The Ribs were VERY dry and old. I cook ALOT myself and I know these were not same day ribs or even day before. Slaw had a very dull color to it, but it did taste decent. Cheese mash was decent tasting, but pasty in texture. I probably wouldn’t venture back here… maybe for dinner, but I’m very skeptical now. The quality was NOT anywhere near the price tag. I understand the prices get raised in a hotel setting, but even so… their menu choices and talk of how good their food was… did not match up to even a Cheddars price tag.

Great dining Experience. Yellow fin tuna was delicious. Friends had veggie flat bread which they enjoyed. Was only missing Texas Select non-alcoholic beer on their menu. Check out Magnolia Market while in area. Bryce, our waiter, took good care of us.

Found this spot passing through Waco right off I-35 near Baylor Univ. Located inside a trendy fun Boutique Hotel Indigo, the place has a modern open feel with great lighting and a large bar area that you can eat at. Food and drinks were great. Simple delicious Margaritas were tasty, the stuffed avocado for appetizer made me want to order another and call it a meal, and our entrees of yellowfin tuna tacos and chicken sliders filled us up. Sopapilla cheesecake completed the meal nicely. Kip, our bartender/waiter did a great job with recommendations and service. Definitely a stopping point if you’re passing through central Texas.

This place was very good! civstaywd in the Hotel Indigo for a night while in town and decided just to walk downstairs and try out the restaurant. I was not disappointed. You are able to seat yourself and there’s both inside and patio seating available. The menu had a nice range, including salads, flatbreads, fish, chicken, and ribs. My coworker and I each ordered a flatbread; for me the veggie flatbread with black truffle oil and for her the chicken flatbread with salsa verde. The food came out quickly enough and was a good size for one person, without being too much. It tasted delicious and was full of toppings. Service was prompt and prices were decent. This was a good choice and I would go back here. In my opinion it’s hard finding decent food in Waco. I am happy to finally say that I’ve found a place that I would go back to, even if not staying in the hotel.

Breakfast was great. I had the eggs florentine and my wife had the French toast with pecans. Coffee was strong but good. Both were yummy. Service was a bit slow but overall we had a very positive experience

Their menu sounds amazing and the food is solid(though I don’t think quite lives up to the sound of everything on the menu. In any case it’s a nice ambiance with good food. One of the better places I’ve been to in Waco.

I love eating at Brazos Bistro in the Indigo Hotel. My friends and co-workers eat there often for lunch and the food and service are always perfect. My favorite meal is the stuffed avocado, which is fabulous! Alyssa has waited on us several times and not only takes great care with our orders, but somehow remembers what we have ordered in the past. I now feel like it is «a place where everybody knows your name»!

Nice presentation of food, good drinks, and attentive service. I enjoyed everything I ordered here and would highly recommend. Yellow tuna tacos were very good, as was the vegetable flatbread. This is a great alternative to the usual college town hangouts. Our server Bryce did an excellent job,

Even if you’re not staying in the hotel, you should stop and eat here. The food was excellent, and Bryce is an expert at recommending beverages. We had the ribs, tuna tacos, and sea bass, and they were all excellent. We will definitely be back if we are in the area.

We stayed at the Hotel Indigo for 2 nights and it is now our favorite hotel in Waco. The beautiful Brazos Bistro has fabulous food and their specialty cocktails are refreshing. Try the Texas Mule. The service by Bryce Rushing was impeccable and professional. He set a casual easy tone for dining and we enjoyed both breakfast and dinner served by Bryce.

Stopped by late last week for dinner and I have to say I was very surprised with the restaurant! The atmosphere was lovely, food was delicious and reasonably priced, and out server Abbey was attentive and very friendly. I will definitely be coming back here next time I pass through Waco, and may even get a room in order to get the full Hotel Indigo experience.

Beautiful dining room in the lobby of the Indigo Hotel. Well stocked bar and craft cocktails. Both the Clay St 75 and Old Fashioned were well made, not too sweet. Wedge salad was bacony goodness with lovely chunks of blue cheese. Enough to share. Yellow fin tuna tacos had a little smoke, a little heat, a lot of fresh and a lot tuna. Quite good. Steak flatbread had a crispy crust, kind of a quesadilla thing going but a little smokey with a nice chat. I think the lettuce was a little worse for wear because of being set on a hot crust, but overall a nice dish. Service was terrific. Friendly, attentive, but not smothering. A great meal. Highly recommended. I give it 5 stars for Waco. In Austin, I probably would have given 4, but it’s definitely an asset to Waco.

Incredible food and service. We had it all — fish tacos, stuffed avocado, artisan cheese. We indulged in the sea bass too. They added caramelized carrots as a side or garnish. Even the garnish was delightful. All of the food was fresh and cooked to perfection. Great bar too! A real Waco gem!

Krispy Kreme Bacon Cheddar Burger Enough said Craft beer! If food was baseball this would be a walk off homerun If this goes off the menu, I will draft it for my fantasy team I didn’t care that I had to eat it with a fork Thank God for the running trail a few blocks north!

Interesting place in downtown Waco that does not get much chatter. I have dined there about six times and have always had nothing but outstanding service. This place does a great job in selecting and training its waiters. The atmosphere is also a plus in my book. Kind of modern vibe to the place with a couple of flat screens and a very wide open dining area. The menu is not huge, but again I don’t see this as a negative. Interesting items up and down the menu. Our favorite appetizer is the stuffed avocado. For entrees I have stayed away from the more expensive steak and fish dishes and have really enjoyed their unique burger(good sized portions). The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that their pricing on alcohol is high compared to other local establishments. Also, they do not offer a happy hour that I know of. If they did, my wife and I would be there much more often.

This review is for Brazos Bistro, the restaurant inside the hotel, not for a hotel stay. Some friends and I came for Sunday brunch just before 10 a.m. during Baylor Homecoming weekend. As we expected, the restaurant was pretty full when we arrived with only one open table as well as a few open bar stools. We were seated and told the wait time would be about 20 minutes after ticket time, which we assumed meant that once our order was placed our food would be served about 20 minutes later. Okay, no biggie. We waited a few minutes for our server to arrive to take our drink order. Instead, we were greeted by the hotel manager who said our server would be with us shortly and was assisting other tables. The manager took our drink orders — cappuccinos all around — before circling back a few minutes later to let us know their machine was being cleaned so we would have to wait a while for our capps(the prices of which he would remove from our bill). In the meantime, our server brought us regular coffees(also gratis) to tide us over. We were fine with the wait, given that we would not be charged for either. More than an hour after we arrived, we still didn’t have any food, although the server let us know a few times that it would just be a few more minutes. Eventually the manager let us know that during our visit one of the cooks up and quit. We felt for him and our server, who were both extremely apologetic to us despite having to deal with some major BS in the kitchen. They weren’t able to accommodate our original order(¾ in our group ordered the biscuit entrée, but we were told they did not have any biscuits), but they did their best to provide us with alternatives(also gratis), including fresh fruit salad, muffins, and a scrambled egg dish with cheese and chopped veggies since they had kept us waiting so long. To make up for our wait and for the disappointing meal, our whole bill was comped(although we generously tipped our server for his hard work). Although we did not have the best experience on this day, the manager and server were very apologetic, and I appreciate when businesses takes responsibility for any shortcomings. Although not what we ordered, the food we were served was very good, the restaurant had a nice ambiance, and the listed prices were great(nothing over $ 8 or $ 9 on the menu). I’m sure this was just an off day, which everyone is entitled to now and again, and, in spite of everything I would come back here again.
