Delicious. I had the hawaiian pancakes and my husband had the chocolate pancakes. Very yummy. Just enough sweet.

Great variety of pancakes and many other breakfast options. I recommend the German pancake. The food is very filling though, so make sure to come when you’re very hungry. The waitresses were nice and the service was fast.

Great food– we were concerned because it was pretty empty. Then the food started coming — vegetable omelet, crispy bacon, and of course he apple pancake! Delicious. Great service and people starting arriving after a while. Very clean.

Loved your resturant since I was a child but unfortunately you have lost us as customers. When one of your staff charges more than I signed for it is not just a «mistake» it is theft. While I appreciate that management refunded the money that we were over charged it does not make up for the distrust in your staff. The apology we received was breif and there was no assurance that this situation would be looked in and more would be done to prevent it from happening again.

My family had a wonderful experience. The services was amazing and the food was very delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. It is now my mom’s favorite restaurant. Our server had great people skills and two others checking to see if we needed anything. It was a well coordinated team that made us feel like we were well-taken care of. The Manager was very welcoming. The portions were generous. The strawberry crepes, Eggs Benedict, and Eggs Florentine.

The prices are outrageous for what we got. $ 4.50 for an 8 oz glass of orange juice. I got a Mediterranean omelet and it was dry. Everything was an up charge, we added blueberries to our side pancakes for $ 3.00. It cost us $ 50 for breakfast for my husband and I and we didn’t even order the kids anything except a side of bacon, they just shared our meals. The food was nothing great— save your money and go to ihop. Half the restaurant had the chairs on top of the tables. There was only one other table, should have been a clue.

The manager was very nice. However, the veggie omelette that I ordered was very dry and mediocre at best. Nevertheless, it took 2020 minutes to get the pancakes. Moreover, they use Smuckers syrup with the high fructose corn syrup for the pancakes. I would just expect a place called the pancake house to be more creative with their syrup. I will never go back.

Had the Swedish pancakes with lingonberry sauce and my wife had the fall pumpkin pancakes. Very delicious. The heavy cream spread on the side was nice. High quality food and nice, clean dining area. Elevator music and friendly and efficient staff. Almost every plate on the breakfast menu is $ 10 minimum, which seems pricey since it is just off a busy street in a mall setting, but then again this is California.

This place is amazing! My family always comes here for breakfast before we head to the farmers market right next to it! The staff is always super friendly and very attentive. And the coffee is the bomb! Highly recommend the spinach omelette with Swiss cheese! Melt in your mouth goodness!

Hmm I’ve been to other Original Pancake Houses before and this one is seriously lacking. I got the banana nut pancake with eggs and diced ham. The ham is soft and tasty and eggs, well they are eggs. For a pancake house you’d expect decent pancakes but these are so paper thin. it’s almost as if they are wattered down the batter, also cutting 3 slices of banana on top does not constitute a «banana pancake». Total bill 17.96. For only me and a couple, service was really slow. So disappointed right now. 2 stars. EDIT: Decided to give them another chance and I’m glad I did. The German pancake was really good, the consistency reminded me of a thicker crêpe, which I loved. Gotta eat it with the lemon and powder sugar maybe with a thin layer of the butter. I also really like the omelets how they are almost baked all the way around with even heat. There were more people working this time around, so we got checked on more often. Drinks refilled whenever low so overall 4 stars this experience was much better. So all in all, come on the right day(friday– sunday) and order the right things and you should be a happy camper

Love this place! Food is consistently good, service is great. Never wait long or at all even when they’re busy. Great variety of menu items and everything is fresh. Only thing that I don’t like is that the servers ask to refill drinks too often, which can be annoying, but at least my beverage is always full. Highly recommend this location!

Make sure you come with an appetite cuz the food here is filling as hell and great quality. They have the usual breakfast items like pancakes, waffles, and omelettes, but with a bit more pizzazz. Check out the apple, bacon, or Hawaiian pancakes. The corned beef hash and strawberry waffle are also excellent. The place can get a bit packed, so you might have to wait for your server to visit your table. There were several times during my last visit that my water and coffee were empty and remained so for some time. Overall, the place is pretty good. If you don’t mind the Sunday morning crowd, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

I ordered the chicken crêpe and James ordered the egg and sausage egg specialty. The chicken crêpe came with potato pancakes. We ate it with the applesauce and sour cream. It’s interesting but I like the regular fluffy pancakes better. The crêpe in the chicken crêpe was good. It was a little sweet and soft. But the chicken topping didn’t have much flavor itself. The eggs were good. The sausage was pretty salty. I don’t think I will order the same thing next time. The staffs were very nice. They kept refilling James’st coffee and making sure we were OK. Very good service.

The original pancake house is a decent option for breakfast. Quite frankly, I’m not sure why I ever get anything other then the pancakes here… Don’t get me wrong, the food is decent, but the pancakes are absolutely amazing. The location itself leaves a bit more to be desired, the pancakes are small but awesome and the omelettes are large but just average. Overall, the food is average and the service along with the location is just average as well. Solid 3 stars. Pros– Pancakes taste Orange juice Price Promptness Cons– Average omelettes Pancake portion Average location Average cleanliness

This is a great breakfast spot for the family. They are best know for their delicious light and fluffy pancakes. However, everything else is equally delicious. The menu has a good selection of different crepes, omelettes, and pancakes, along with classic breakfast items. The portions are more than generous so make sure to come here equipped with a hearty appetite. I would highly recommend the Denver omelette or the bacon pancakes. Don’t forget to get a side of their hash browns! They have just the right amount of butter and just the right amount of crunch. My only advice would be to have the servers come around more frequently to check for water and coffee refills. Overall, this is a great place!

It’s a chain restaurant, but this location doesn’t let you down. We have good service when ever we come. Portions are big enough to share(that is if u like to share) for 2. German pancake is good stuff. Cornbeef hash is ok…(It’s the can kind) I was looking for more the the shredded Cornbeef. Service always has a smile. It’s on the pricey side but the portions are big. It’s not a mom n pop place so don’t try to look for daily specials.

I absolutely love The Original Pancake House. They have the BEST pancakes hands down. I rate this location 3 stars rather than 5 because of the service. I have been into this location several times, and each time the service is extremely poor, or almost nonexistent. We are seated, our drinks are taken, our order is taken, then the food is brought to us and that’s it. Bare minimum service. I’m lucky if someone passes me so I can get a refill of water or iced tea; good luck trying to get a to-go box. It always takes an irritatingly long time for our server to come by to take our food order EVERYTIME I’ve been in. This makes it very difficult when I have a hungry toddler who is hanging on by a very small thread waiting as patiently as possible for pancakes. I honestly only come to this location because it’s the closest one, but the Poway location is by far the best location in terms of food and service.

This was a very interesting breakfast. First we walked in and no one sat us for a few minutes. A couple waitresses walked by and ignored us until I assume the manager came up and just said«hi» and smiled… Uhhhh… 2 please? The atmosphere is like a country cottage. Very sweet, mama’s cooking type. It’s cool. A good change in a sea of surfer restaurants.(Pun intended) We had about 5 different servers throughout the course of our meal. The«tall» orange juice is smaller than a pint but it is actual orange JUICE. Someone must be back there squeezing the oranges cause it is not Tropicana I can tell you that. Probably why it’s $ 4. The omelets are the size of a big plate. Like the ENTIREPLATE! So share a plate if you can’t take leftovers… Cause you will have leftovers. The pancakes have this unique taste to them. My boyfriend said it has a hint of beer in it. Whatever you do, get pancakes! It’s an interesting crowd in there. Pretty sure there was a cult next to us trying to sell off their daughters to this dude’s son. Hey, to each is own, but it was entertaining people watching in there. Pancakes and orange juice are the key. Pancakes and orange juice. Only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because of the wait and the plethora of servers. It was difficult to ask for anything else once our food order was in, too. No refills of the water or the orange juice.

This place is just what I love about a breakfast diner. They had ample seating so a wait wasn’t a thing, the service was quick, and the food was good. I was surprised how often they came by for coffee refills. I was really enjoying that. I had the pork link and eggs with the pancakes. I mean, why come to a pancake house if you don’t get pancakes, right?! Well, they didn’t disappoint. They were nice and fluffy. Had a great flavor to them and they also bring out syrup that’s been heated you don’t have to worry about cold syrup or that slow pour. The only thing I was sad about, was that I didn’t order the bacon. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they have the huge thick cut bacon. Most places go for the thin stuff and this bacon is legit, I’d say was about ¼ inch thickness and was absolutely amazing. Overall, great place to eat at. I really want to try that German pancake next time though!
