Dr. Rodriguez is the best! I’ve been going to Costco optometry for several years and he’s always giving the best service. He is very professional and knowledgeable. He spends ample amount of time answering all my questions. I highly recommend him and I won’t aee anyone else!

Went to Costco bc I no longer have insurance. It was $ 119 for my eye exam and another $ 210 for my toric lenses (1year supply).
I found the contacts cheaper online at
($ 173 total).
Regarding the service…
I didn’t meet the doc himself but saw him with another patient. Instead another doc helped me (I forgot her name but she was a little Asian lady). She was great. Friendly but to the point. The lady at the front desk also is friendly and professional.
I was taken in almost right away and was in and out in less than 30 minutes!

I am so glad that I went to Dr. Rodriguez for my contacts prescription. I usually go to a vision center that is a little pricier that I felt was not honest with their business. Dr. Rodriguez was very understanding with my concerns, blunt (in a good way), and informational. I like to learn more about my conditions and why I should use Cooper vision toric lenses as opposed to the other name brands that are a little cheaper and more popular amongst consumers and he explained why. Also, he was friendly, quick, and efficient. Great job!

My dad has been going to Richard for many years. Recently my sister and I followed and we loved it! I know what you’re thinking, an optometrist inside Costco?! Yes, that is right! His staff is friendly, Richard always makes sure you are comfortable. He will work with you no matter how long until he gets your prescription right. I ended up not purchasing glasses from Costco, but was very happy with my exam. Which was only around $ 50, which I was happy with considering I don’t have insurance. My dad has been saying great things about Richard for years, I am so glad I went to see him!

Very thorough, but very quick and efficient. He even took the time to figure out how often I wore my contacts so that he could recommend the cheapest option. And his staff returns calls quickly, unlike some other offices in the area.

My family and I have been going to Dr. Rodriguez for over 8 years now, and we LOVE him. I was at first skeptical about how good a «Costco doctor» could be… but I needed a quick, inexpensive eye exam one day, and went to him in a pinch. I have never gone anywhere since then. I have bad eyes and complicated problems, and have been to many eye doctors before, but I have never found anyone I like as well and who solved my vision issues like he has. I have complete confidence in him, and I recommend him to all my friends. He is awesome!

I had to write in today, to let people know about the outstanding eye care I’ve gotten from Dr. Rodriguez, at the Costco Optometry department, on Hacienda Dr., Vista, California. We moved to San Diego county six years ago, and didn’t know anyone, or how to get anywhere. It was a stroke of luck that this Costco is just blocks away, and I took a chance making an appt. there for my contact lenses. I use mono vision contacts, and when the exam was finished, I walked out the door to order the lenses, and in a matter of days they came in. The first day of use I was AMAZED. I’d been wearing contacts more than 5 years, and had no idea it was POSSIBLE to see this well. He’s the only eye doctor I’ve ever written to thank for HITTING THE NAIL ON THE HEAD as far as my prescription goes. This year, for my annual exam, he gave me a correction, and I ordered the lenses. I was ill about a month following, but still they allowed me a new visit, because I thought I wasn’t reading well with the new prescription. When we met, he noticed that he DID increase one of the lenses, but I thought it was too strong. I admitted that was MY mistake, because I really needed the extra strength to read comfortably. No problem. Dr. Rodriguez gave me a new lens to try for a week, before I ordered lenses. He also gave me another lens, in case the first one was too strong. When all was solved, he gave me replacement lenses for the 1^st prescription that wasn’t working (because of my error, I should add). I was not charged anything for the two subsequent appointments, and know, if there are any more difficulties, he’ll take care of me. I think Dr. Rodriguez, will work on any issue, until it’s solved, but usually, he nails your vision needs the first time around. I give him 10 stars.
