We love this place. It is the best spot for Mexican food in Shadowridge by far. Mini tacos are always on point especially with that amazing salsa bar! They also have great beers on tap.

DONOTEATHERE!!! We usually came here to eat when they opened and it was delicious but now it’s the worst, we had been waiting for our food for 40 minutes, the shrimp cocktail was nasty, my husband ordered a alambre and it was burned, no flavor, unsalted, and they overpriced everything, I don’t care to pay $$$$ if the food is good but we all have a stomachache now, it’s a shame because when they started they were the best…

La Casa De Los Alambres is own and operated by family members. The buisness is located in a strip mall with plenty parking space. The dinning area is awkward. As you enter through the front door there are serveral tables but no seats for waiting area. The other dinning area is divided by a wall which has a bar and two giant screen television. The television was extremely loud which we couldn’t have a conversation. The wall paint is inspired by Mexican colors of red and orange. The décor are heavily influenced by Aztec such as paintings and artifacts. The cabinet next to the restroom has full of it. The place appears to be dingy. There is a sauce bar with variety of sauces, cilantro, white oonion, sauted red onion, limes, and cucumbers. The chips and salsa tastes like store bought and not homemade. The service was very nonchalant but there are not rude. We waited 45 minutes to receive our food. To waitress credit, she did come by several times to check on us. The entrees we order were; Fajitas chicken plate came with beans, rice, and tortillas. $ 13.99. Chicken was very dry and no flavor but caramelize onion was the best part Cheese Enchiladas Suizas topped with melted cheese, sour cream, red or green sauce with rice and beans. $ 12.75 Alambre Norteño: Chorizo, carne asada, red onions, chile serrano, melted mozzarella cheese $ 11.99 The best way to describe the dish is six tacos with carna asada and chorizo. The meats were overcooked which made it very dry. The onions, cheese and pepper was nice compliment. I highly suggest to take advantage of the sauce bar to make your meals more flavorful. Overall decent severice and meal but I would not return anytime soon.

This place is amazing, we accidentally came here one day after shopping at the outlets one day! Boy was it the best Mexican food I’ve ever had! The servers are extremely friendly and the prices are great! Everyone and their mommas should be here, highly recommended!!! Nothing but positive remarks about this place!

Very good food, haven’t been able to find a decent Mexican restaurant since I left Colorado, this place is a good change compared to the other places around here.

This has to be the worst place I’ve ever been. I wish I could give zero stars!!! First let’s start with my fermented Jamaica, it was so disgusting!!! I told them and they just asked me «what else would you like to drink». This place is Over priced and definitely not worth the stomach ache. I started to eat my food and all was good, I needed some spice on my food so I went to salsa bar and the green salsa was rotten. I told them and they took the Geen one out. Then I went back and got some red salsa and it was rotten as well. I told the lady at the front that the salsa was rotten and fermented and she said«thats the way it’s supposed to taste.» I am getting a stomach ache as we speak. Please do not eat here!!! I would not recommend this place to anyone, ever!!!

This was my first time here, I had been wanting to try it out for a long time since it’s so close to home. I saw that it had some great reviews and it was one of the only family owned Mexican restaurants in Shadowridge. First impression, it felt family owned and comfy. Clean, the staff greeted the two of us kindly. Our server was very good, there were several other families dining and we were very well attended to. Food quality, I was honestly hoping for more quality and flavor out of a family restaurant. They lost two stars solely from the basics, the rice and beans. They were disappointing, rubbery rice and over refried beans. I feel like such a common side dish should be prepared beyond mediocre in this type of neighborhood restaurant. I’m willing to give them another try and hopefully add more stars because I would love to see this place do well. Side note: my michelada was delicious

Stayed overnight in Vista and craved a nice meal. Decided on Mexican and Unilocal pointed us here. Close to closing but was warmly welcomed with a table followed by chips and salsa. Ordered a couple beers.(They have tap and bottles.) And then the mains: The Alambres Nortena was very good with a lot of meat and peppers. Two salsas spiced things up! The Chicken Flautas were amazing. Three large flour tortillas stuffed with chicken and served with lettuce, cheese and guacamole over the top. Yum. Lots of food, reasonably priced and nice ambience(music and two large tvs.) Don’t be fooled by the strip mall, it is definitely worth the try.

Really loved the service and the al pastor here! Very friendly and helpful staff, family owned and run which I always love to support. Simple in décor but very clean and well maintained and a fantastic menu, very extensive. I kept it simple with a few tacos, rice and beans and really enjoyed it. Several sauces to chose from, I enjoyed the mild green and avocado ones best and the meat was really the highlight here. Prices are fair, portions generous, worth a stop while in the area!

We recently celebrated my father-in-laws 60th birthday. We had a recommendation from a friend to use La Casa de Alambres. We were put in contact with Erika and she was amazing in helping us truly cater the foods for what we wanted at our event. We had a chance to taste every dish at the restaurant before had to make a commitment. The day of the party everything was exactly as we wished, the food was beyond our expectations! The food was second only to the level of service we were given! We highly recommend it.

Horrible service– the girls answering the phone taking customer orders are immature, ditzy, and rude. Food quality is extremely poor– the carne asada had no flavor, grimy chewy chunks of what I hope was beef, the el pastor was dried out, like I was eating beef jerky. Rice tasted like it was a few days old and again no flavor, beans tasted like… well nothing they were bland. The pictures on Unilocal are not what it looks like in person, it was dark dingy dirty. $ 35 for 2 burritos, 4 mini tacos, kids meal, chips salsa. Are you freakin kidding me!!! We took about 3 bites and then threw our disgusting meal into the trash where it belongs, and now we are all feeling sick.

This little Mexican restaurant is great. Service is good and the food if yummy. Way better than your average taco shop. The avocado and refried beans are well made. Not the waterdown ones you get in other places. You also get chips and salsa!

They make authentic mexican food. Different from your usual San Diego mexican food. It was pretty damn good! My fiancée’ had a carne quesadilla and I had Alambres Mexican. Their use of the poblano chile is what really set this dish off as distinctive. I ate the whole plate and chased it with some super reasonably priced beers. I will definitely be back!

Great hidden little gem in vista, came here during the week around 4ish and it was nice and empty. Ordered a burrito and some other things to share. Everything was really good, verde salsa was really good! Chips where nice and thick, salsa was good. I’ll definitely be coming back!

This is my second time coming here. I ordered a plate called«alambre mexicano»(I think). It was spicy!.. but it was really good! I really, really appreciated the attention and service they provided. The hostess, waitress and I think the manager(or owner) were very friendly and I can appreciate being treated like they appreciated my business. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try a different style of Mexican food. Thanks to everyone who works there for their wonderful service!!!

Got takeout the other night. First time here and we will be back! Cute dining room. We love to patronize local businesses, instead of large chains.

Recommended here by a few customers and coworkers! We were greeted right as we walked in and got drinks, chips and salsa immediately! Service was speedy and food was AMAAAAAZING! I haven’t had this great of mexican food since I moved away from my mom 2 years ago. This place definitely hit the spot! It’s a little pricey in my opinion but then again the quality of food is a lot better than any mexican restaurants around. I love this place and will be sure to come back again and again.

For take out only… I came here craving a California burrito… Service was pretty quick but not friendly. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not UNwelcoming, just didn’t give me that fuzzy feeling of wanting to come back. I did give 4 stars though because the burrito was big and delicious!!! For just the burrito it was like just over $ 6, which seems a little crazy to me but then again it IS a meal in itself. I was full full full!!! All in all, I’d probably come back for a quick fix… Not totally into coming and sitting down here though. But good on you for the booooomb burrito!!!

We just moved to the area and during said move, the troops were ravenous and craving mexican food. Not being too familiar with what was around I checked reviews on Unilocal. This joint happens to be a stones throw from the new digs so we decided to give it a shot… so glad we did. My 14-year old kid, being the King of California burritos hailed this as one of, if not, the best he’s ever partaken in. The rest of the crowd ordered quesadillas, chicken burritos, and nachos and were all more than happy(when no one speaks, that means it’s good!) I ordered chicken flautas and oohed and aahed through every bite. The fresh and flavorful chicken was housed in delicious crispy fried tortilla goodness. Smothered in yummy sour cream and guacamole, it just sent me over the edge. On another note: My kid said the staff was over and beyond friendly and went out of their way to provide exceptional service. All said and done: We love our new digs and what will most certainly be, our new go-to mexican food joint!

It’s tough lowering my review. I do normally recommend this place to anyone, especially their street tacos. They cater at Aztec Brewery on Thursday nights and my family and I try to always make it. The Alambres plate is awesome. Unfortunately, the last time I came to the actual restaurant I had a bigger appetite than usual and so I decided to order a California burrito which is always a winner in my book at most places although I hadn’t had one here yet. Ew :/the carne asada was extremely salty with no flavor other than that, the guacamole was also salty and slimy. I couldn’t even finish it, which is RARE for me. After eating what I could, I immediately became extremely sick and spent the rest of the night in the bathroom… I’ll give my business where it’s earned which is in the tacos and a few other plates, but I am very disappointed with that last meal.
