My husband has been talking about this place for a while. I guess he ate here with his co-workers last month and swore this place was«better» then tacos el gordo. He brought the kids and I here yesterday and I was super disappointed. Not only did I pay $ 52 for about 12 tacos and a tamale and 2 horchatas but it took forever and our food was ready at different times, not to mention that they don’t give you your damn drink until several minutes after the food is out. Totally ridiculous! It’s not set up so that you can grab your own toppings and salsa. For $ 52, I expect all you can eat salsa! They gave me 1 small salsa for 6 tacos! And ¼ piece of lime! My husband had to wait back in line to ask for more salsa and lime! I have two stars cause yes then tacos de cabeza were good but not great. The birria was nothing special and the carne asada was dry and not warm at all! The chicken tamale was disgusting!!!

This is the real deal. If you are uncomfortable being the only gringo in a restaurant, avoid this place. Other than that, it’s legit. I wouldn’t recommend this spot for a first date. It is, after all, only a humble taco shop. I would recommend it to someone who wants to eat authentic mexican food that is hand made by abuelitas.

So my brother LOVES this place. I started talking about writing this review and everyone immediately started making plans to go eat there tomorrow. I guess it could just be due to the fact that I am not a fan of goat but neat less to say we have very different ideas of what a good restaurant is… If everyone else here was writing this review they would have given 5 stars. In my opinion the place needs a good scrub. I personally give them 3 stars.

If you’re looking 4 some good birria or carnitas this is the spot. The carnitas or so tender and juicy and make sure try the salsa!

Francisco’s incredibly ethnic and genuine, with tastes and items from the Mexican state of Michoacan. But be warned– it is SMALL with maybe…10 seats, so be prepared to get it and go. Every tortillia is hand made in front of your eyes, all very fresh and good. Carne asada and adobada are the best on the menu and the tamales are made fresh every day, but they run out around 11 or 12 so get there early. The Rajas(cheese and pepper) tamale is incredible. My fave taco shop.
