If you find this place having a cheap rate, be warned that you get what you pay for and you won’t get anything more out of it. This is based on a summer 2013 vacation experience. On to the review: For the positives: 1. Basic room for those who just use it to sleep for the night and get cleaned up for a cheap rate compared to other cheap hotels in the area. It is clean enough to not feel disgusted. 2. One block away from the beach. 3. Near Dairy Queen for late night snacking. 4. On duty night guard. I’ve seen the guard watching the area and once in a while walk around at night. 5. AC works. For the negatives: 1. Limited parking spaces, not guaranteed enough for all guest rooms on site if hotel is packed to its full capacity. There is a parking section with tandem parking(where one car can get trapped) where it’s near the hotel office/swimming pool, but is for another location(there’s a sign of notification), so be aware that your car can be towed away. So if you’re arriving late and it’s during peak summer season, be careful of not finding a parking space. I for one was able to find parking because we were back early in the evenings. But I must note that people have parked«questionably legal» due to unavailable parking space when I went out for a late night walk on the beach. 2. Swimming pool is not big as it seems, probably comfortable for a single family use at the most. Start adding more and you can’t really swim around(I don’t think that’s even possible), but only to splash around and marinate in. 3. If you’re trying to cram as many people in a hotel room as possible for the cheapest amount possible(e.g., students on a budget), this is not the place to do it. Do not even attempt to. They will charge extra per person($ 20/night during my time of stay) or kick the person out(according to their disclosure). 4. Heater didn’t really function in one of the room. By that, I mean when it was turned on, the nasty heating smell was so strong, it was better to have natural room temperature(a couple of people developed a cold, wanted heat) and to just bundle up. Be warned that this place is very hostile for having«friends» coming over your hotel room. It is also hostile especially if you’re cramming in more people than you booked the room for. The hotel even have signs that states this when you check in at the office. I never tested this because I’m a type of person who stays out of trouble, so be warned of the consequences. Also, they require you to put down in writing who is staying in the hotel room and request driver license for verification of who you are when signing. I would understand if it’s just only for the person booking the room, but to verify who else is staying in the room is going overboard. So yes, they also verify your co-occupant(s). This is the first hotel ever to question all the identities of who are checking in a hotel room. Even guests who were checking out and waiting in line behind me, I over heard them talking to other guests how strict this place was at who is staying in the hotel room and have to verify identities. So I wasn’t targeted for sure. The other guests were families. As for the quality of the hotel room, it’ll probably be about average to barely slightly above average for a 1 or 2 star hotel rating. It is clean enough to stay, but maintenance wise, this hotel can definitely use plenty of it. Especially the bathroom area.

This place is a STEAL during the summer season. The hotel is only a block from the beach and costs a fraction of the other places. If you are expecting the poshness of its neighboring hotels, don’t. This place is very clean, simple and great if you want to enjoy some beach and boardwalk time. There is also a small pool as well. The owner is really nice and staffs her own counter. She and the other staff is also great for giving advice on places to go.
