A very poorly run restaurant with mediocre food –that about sums up this restaurant. Owners are rude; one or two really good servers, but owners always seem to lose the good ones. The food has all the same sauce so everything just tastes the same. Pizza is Not NY style, and also blah. And, very expensive for nothing. Go to Il Giardinos at the beach for real Italian food and excellent service. The managers there don’t drink at the bar either.

By far the closest thing to real NY pizza in va beach. The crust is perfect with a little char. Mmmmm. Feels like home to this brooklynite. Sending husband back tomorrow to pick up a pie for lent Friday pizza night.

Ay Yo, take it from me best freagin pizza in town, a stromboli is a stromboli and a calzone a calzone(not the other way around like a lot of wannabees) I should know i’m from NYC/Jersey, the pasta is the best, gotta love the chicken piccata– best on the east coast, the lasagna with meat sauce is the bata bing, Greek Salad! Mama Mia! Son of a Brooklyn Bridge! Best Greek salad ever. Not so cheap but oh so good! All this here in Virginia Beach. Now stay outta my parking spot or I’ll have Vinney pay you a visit.

I may have to say primo is my favorite pizza all over. Which is insane because it’s in Virginia beach. I love coming here to pick up and having a glass of wine at the bar or a beer while watching a game with my boyfriend. Whether dining in or taking out, food is always delicious and my family has been ordering from primo for over ten years. The garlic knots are an absolute must. They come in orders of 6 or 12 and come with sauce. The pizza is always flavorful and well cooked with fresh ingredients. My other favorite to order is the baked ziti! Delicious! But it’s hard to choose between pizza and pasta, so get both!

Best pizza in Hampton Rhodes still. Sometimes Their phone does not work on Saturdays. Not sure why. But when phone did. Not work they took the order and got a great pizza in twenty mikes. The place is usually crowded so that tells you something. They have expanded to the place next door, also a sign the food is good. Extra bar, nice folks, decent food, great atmosphere(low lights tasteful décor) and great prices. All in all a win.

Primo was a perfect place for my birthday dinner. The Italian dishes were excellently prepared, the best I have had in a long time. I recommend it highly!

Wow, where to start? My husband and I have been fans of Primo Pizza since we first met 16 years ago, when we began frequenting their original location at Princess Anne & Baxter Roads. Approximately 1 year ago, our son started taking horseback riding lessons in the Pungo area and he and I began stopping in to their newer location a Red Mill and we eat there almost weekly. It was at this location that we went from being just customers to being considered family! After 1 of his lessons, my son(who is Autistic, by the way) & I stopped in & ordered a pizza and our son was raving to our waitress, Jill, about how delicious the food was. Long story short, this has given him an open invitation to come back in the kitchen and help make our food pretty much anytime we are there. He is treated like royalty and my husband and I always feel special. We even had a chance to sit with owners Dom & Donna for about 15 or 20 minutes one evening so that we could tell them how special their staff made our son feel and we were surprised by their reaction: they told us that they expect nothing less from their staff and encourage them to form personal relationships with the customers. Of course they are pleased to hear how happy we were and gave us hugs before they left our table. Now, about the food: I would estimate that my family and I have eaten at this location at least 50 times and I can honestly say that I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve had an issue with the food. Once my strombolli was not warm enough in the middle and another time I was unhappy with the amount of meat in the meat sauce on my pasta. Sure, there may be an off night in the kitchen(they’re human, after all) but, other than than those 2 instances, I am very hard pressed to remember any other problems I’ve had with the food I received. It is always delicious and my husband and I both agree that they make the best pizza in Virginia Beach. And the service: From the day our son first raved to our server about our pizza, Jill Curtis has become our #1, go-to.server at Primo! We are always greeted with hugs and she gives us top-notch service each and every time; for us, having Jill as our server is simply part of the excellent experience that we have every time that we go there. Jill shows an honest, personal interest in our family and is especially attentive to our son and what is going on in his life. There is a real affection between her and our family that cannot be broken However, on the very few occasions that Jill was not available to serve us, we’ve received warm and friendly service from others on the staff. To sum my review up: Primo Pizza at Red Mill offers delicious food and excellent service; give them a chane you’ll be amazed how quickly you, too, will become family!

I’m new to Unilocal but when I heard about this site I thought it would be an excellent chance for me to comment on Primo Pizza. By far the best Beach restaurant to get a pizza. Their salads are awesome as are the steaks and sandwiches. The service is above reproach. From the hostess, to the staff, to the folks manning the ovens and grills. But there is one person in particular that makes our visit so enjoyable. A young lady by the name of Jill! From the time we arrive until the time we leave, Jill is always checking on our needs. Very attentive! Awesome smile. A pleasure to have as a server. We make an effort to get her table everytime we dine at Primo. She is great and she deserves recognition for her efforts to bring satisfaction to ALL of the patrons who dine at Primo Pizza. We have been dining there for years and will continue to do so. The food is that good but Jill makes the meal«happy». Thank you very much Jill.. The Gallaghers

I have yet to try in house but ordered delivery twice. The first was a Greek style pizza and was satisfying but not memorable. The second time ordering was also delivery; tortellini soup and margarita pizza. Unfortunately the margarita pizza was not warm and there left much to be desired as far as the sauce and the amount of topping ingredients. The taste of the pizza overall was somewhat palatable however it seemed as if I was eating a slice of pizza with the toppings scraped off. The tortellini soup was a little salty but, okay. The pictures Unilocaled of the pastas and pizzas look great in the restaurant so I may have to try in house next time to rate more stars… Until the next.

Had a delicious lunch today with my mother. We shared a Greek salad and a sausage and pepper sub. The salad is the best I’ve had in quite some time. The sub was delicious too. We had a nice young man wait on us. He was a very nice and personable young man. Bravo Primo… great food and great service! Doesn’t get any better!

We ordered take out from here on our first night vacationing in nearby Sandbridge. The pizza wasn’t bad but definitely wasn’t the best I’ve ever had like others have said. I would’ve probably given Primo 4 stars if they weren’t so grossly overpriced. I mean $ 40 for 1 extra large pizza and 1 an Italian sub?! Seriously?! Just because you’re serving«New York style pizza» doesn’t mean you have to charge New York prices.

My family eats at Primo often. The service is excellent and the food is even more excellent. I even like to bring my neighbors with me to eat lunch or dinner. Did you want some goooood garlic knots? Come here!

Amazing food. This place was recommended by a local business and we thought we’d give it a try. I’m glad we did. It was fancier inside than what I was expecting. It was Saturday night so it was busy. Had a 30 minute wait but it’s worth it. The pizza was great and we also had fettucini alfredo and pasta with vodka sauce which were some of the best we’ve had. The garlic knots are a must. Our server was fantastic. Definitely would go back.

We had mozzarella sticks, spinach calzone, chopped Italian salad and penne with marinara sauce… all were very good. We would definitely go there again. Our server Robert was one of the best servers we have ever had. All waitstaff seemed professional and well trained.

My mom and I are big fans of the Primo on Princess Anne(I think I have the most check-ins there at the moment) so when I spotted this one when I was lunch hunting, I had to stop in. Not very busy on a weekday, so I was brought right to a seat and placed my order. A few minutes later, a tasty looking meatball sub arrived at my table. Nice sized sandwich with a few big meatballs and lots of cheee on a toasted sun roll. The meatballs tasted great and were large enough that I had to pull two out to eat them separately lest I spill. Good food, nice service. Just as good as the other location!

Just finished eating here, and I’m very impressed. The portions were massive, the food was ready extremely quickly, and the service was great. I’ll definitely be back!

Nice place, but don’t come in around 2:30-ish for lunch. It’s ‘in-between’ time and really throws them off. They do have a nice little bar, but I’m on the clock right now for my job. I’ll have to come back again.

I have been here in numerous occasions and even ordered for delivery. The food is always excellent! I have never had a bad meal. I’m from NJ and am used to eating great Italian food and I have found my go to with Primo! The service has always been great too. We were there last night and it was crowded but our server was on top of everything. 1÷31÷15 Back again and it’s even better! Updated: still love this place. Best Italian in the area. If anyone from there is reading this, calling for take out is a nightmare. All you hear is banging in the background every single time you call. Maybe consider moving your phone somewhere where it’s not so loud. Can barely understand the person on the phone and I think they cannot hear with all the banging because I have to repeat and correct the order every time.

I give three stars mainly for the service; the waitress was overall fairly nice — she took our orders and said bread would be out shortly. She brought us our salad and when she came to clean up the empty salad plates we asked if bread was still coming. And she said she hadn’t said anything about bread coming… If you don’t serve bread, that’s fine, but why say bread would be coming??? We found that weird. She also didn’t keep our water glasses full, we had empty glasses most of the time. And we were only one of two customers, and another waiter was taking care of the other table. The staff seemed more focused on closing up, with over an hour till closing time. We ordered their Greek pizza which was okay and their garlic nots — once we found out we in fact weren’t getting any bread. The pizza was just a slightly nicer supreme. It certainly was not worth it’s $ 20 price tag. Decent flavors but we probably won’t be back.
