This place has the atmosphere thing down. Come on… Who doesn’t want to eat at a restaurant on the 5th floor of a hotel overlooking the ocean? The bathrooms are super clean –as is expected of a hotel resort. The seats make you feel majestic-they are bouncy and super roomy. Overall-I loved this place before even tasting the food! They took our drink orders and a super fresh very delicious basket of bread showed up and I took the time to prepare a plate of oil and cheese which is already stationed on the table. A little disappointed in the cheese-not a super flavorful Parmesan but it was decent. The bread was a good rustic white bread-nothing super special about it but it took the oil and cheese smear like a champ. I ordered the house Malbec and it was a very good Argentinian-you could tell from the smoother flavor(not a heck of a lot of sulfites bursting in the back of your throat). The menu is vast-but something notable is the predominantly Veal heavy listing of dishes. I haven’t had a lot of experience with veal but the waitress explained that they cut and tenderize it fresh every morning-so I couldn’t turn down the opportunity. I ordered the dish named«Asparagus”-it’s a veal dish in a stock topped with fresh asparagus and mozzarella and Parmesan. Funny thing to note-after I ordered it the waitress said its her favorite dish and I chose well. When it came to the table I was told it was hot so I waited a wee bittle by an act of God and fear of burning my mouth, then I demolished it. Holy crap it was great. The gravy had great flavor-you could taste more than just a beef base in it, there was a variety of vegetable and seasonings bursting forth. The asparagus was tender but still crunchy and had an ample layer of cheese. I ate the whole thing and soaked up the remaining gravy with my bread. I didn’t really get to my side of pasta and marinara-I tried the tomato gravy and it was a little sweet for my taste but definitely a house made sauce. Overall-not the absolute WOWing 5 star experience but definitely a very very good Italian restaurant with its Veal niche.

We checked in to the hotel after a seven hour drive that should have taken 3 and saw that the restaurant was open until 10 p.m. We went to the restaurant at 9:17. We were greeted by a disgruntled hostess who told us the they stopped seating at 9. The restaurant appeared empty on a Friday night in May. We were ready to eat and drink and enjoy the evening. We would have left by 10, I guess they did not want our business!

If you love upscale Italian food this the place for you. We were staying at the hotel below and we decide to take advantage of the grand view of the ocean while we were there. I had the veal asparagus that was suggest by Nancy and I was not disappointed. By the way, Nancy our server was so pleasant and if you’re lucky enough to get her, it will make you’re visit even more pleasant. Suggestion… Even if you are visiting during off season and you want one of those tables lining the ocean view, make a reservation. I think locals visit during that time, so don’t think that it won’t be busy because its off season. Also they have a kids menu if you have little ones.

I really felt it was necessary to write a review on this restaurant. Not to tell you about the food because I never tried it, but to tell you about the staff, manager included! We were here for a gymnastics meet with a large party…25. We arrived at the restaurant and were greeted by a friendly hostess, and that’s where it ended. Traveling with many families with young teens we needed three tables which was fine except the kids wanted to sit next to each other. The first waiter said we needed to sit together as families to split the checks up. Something they«do not do with parties greater than six». «Its written in the menu the waiter said», which we had not received yet. We said that we could work it out and it should not cause any problem. The second waiter told us the same thing and then got the manager. He did not introduce himself n just repeated the waiters statement about the checks. To me, it seemed that we were an inconvenience to them. The restaurant was not that full so I’m not sure what the problem was but I will just finish with this they lost a lot of money for the restaurant and the waiters.

Caesar salad tableside, veal asparagus and a super Tuscan wine! Wow The broth/stock for the veal is magic! Great view, super staff-truly a gem at the oceanfront. Thanks again Pasquali for another memorable dining adventure!

My wife and I went to Isle of Capri for the first time last night for our wedding anniversary. I called to make reservations a few weeks out to make sure things went as planned. I called and left a voicemail and also made a reservation online. They said they’d contact me to confirm within 24 hours. I had to call back again 4 days later and leave another voicemail and finally someone called me back that night. I requested a nice quiet table for my wife and I and when we got there the hostess tried to seat us at a table right in the middle of other tables that had groups of people at them. I nicely asked if we could move back one table so we were in the corner and the hostess rolled her eyes and said, «I mean I guess«. I then asked again and said are you sure it’s no trouble and she again said she guessed we could sit there. I really don’t know what the issue was because we still had the same waiter we were going to have at the other table because the staff was short handed. For a restaurant that’s supposed to be really nice then it’s a pretty bad look to have such a rude hostess seating people who are going to spend $ 100 plus at your restaurant. Honestly if it wasn’t for our good waiter I’d be giving them one star. The food was decent but for authentic Italian food(coming from an Italian with a culinary degree) I’d recommend somewhere like Salvatore’s where the staff is friendly and the food is always excellent.

Visited here for the second time on 7÷22÷15. Once again, we were not disappointed. We started off with the ceasar salad. This is a must! I got the shrimp scampi. My only complaint is that it needed more garlic. My mom got the shrimp francese. It had the perfect am out of breading. My cousin got the penne positano. She raved about how delicious it was. We finished our meal with the rum cake. It was delicious, light, and very flavorful.

Definitely get the ceasar salad. Definitely get the blueberry basil mixed coctail drink. If you get the fetecunni Alfredo make sure to ask for a side of sun dried tomatoes. Service was great. Price was good… and views were very good. A great way to spend our 1 year anniversary.

Had dinner here last night and was amazed. The service was excellent and the food was terrific. My husband and I split an order of calamari and a cup of she crab soup to start and it was almost enough to be too full for our entrees! We both had different veal entrees which were some of the best we’ve ever had. The dessert menu looked great too but by then, we were definitely satisfied with half of our entrees in to go boxes so we decided not to push it. We would go back any time!

Best Cesar salad around. They make it right in front of you. I ordered fettichinni alfreado with grilled chicken on top. Fantastic. 5 stars.

Very fancy, Isle of Capri is a perfect spot for a date night. Great service from well trained wait staff, excellent food with the always impressive«table side» preparation and of course, the wonderful view of the beach. And if you time it right, there’s the sunset as it falls on the sand. Long list of wines, but I’m not a wine drinker and can’t really tell you if anything is any good. I like beer and since this is an Italian restaurant, they have Peroni and that’s what I had while I looked over the menu. I settled on the«capri salad» to start, which was a large plate of lettuce with cucumber slices, pepperoncinis, marinated mushrooms, sliced tomatoes a few pieces of artichoke hearts and a lot of really tasty feta cheese. Dressing on the side was a nice touch. For main, I took the waiter’s advice that the veal was good and chose the Veal Piccata. A good portion of thinly sliced veal, lots of tasty lemony sauce and more than enough capers to give it a great flavor. On the side, a bowl of spaghetti marinara(there are other choices) that took a few spoonfuls from the bowl of shredded parmesan cheese. I opted not to have dessert. A great meal, not terribly expensive, but well worth it. Yum.

Everything about this experience was excellent! We were dining with local friends who are regulars and we were not disappointed. The view is stunning from pretty much every table and the menu has just the right amount of variety without being overwhelming. We started with a pepperoni and mushroom pizza as an appetizer. Excellent thin crust with a mild savory sauce and just the right amount of cheese. We followed that with the table side ceasar salad service. Now I’m not a ceasar salad fan, but I have to say, this salad was delicious! The ladies has the jumbo sea scallops over lemon butter angel hair pasta and the men had the nightly special, which was halibut. The scallops were absolutely perfect, among the best I’ve had. The pasta was simple, but paired well with the scallops. My husband said his halibut was excellent as well. We took dessert home with us, a lovely sponge cake with raspberry filling and chocolate ganache for me and a slice of cheesecake for him. Both were excellent.

I have had the pleasure of dining at the Isle several times as of late as well as a number of times over the past several years. Each time the staff has been very attentive but not smothering which is a great thing. An upper scale restaurant overlooking the Virginia Beach coastline. Try to secure a window seat if you really want the expierence. This is an italian themed venue and when ordering choose an italian meal off the menu and you cant go wrong. I recently diverted from the menu and ordered the«Grouper» special and was very dissapointing flavorless and overcooked fish. However returning again I went back to the Italian meal and got a lasagna which was outstanding and my girlfriend really enjoyed the lobster raviolli. The tableside caesar salad is always a delicious healthy dish and is very popular among patrons of this restaurant. Overall a great romantic spot to take your special gal or guy for an evening. Parking can be a little tricky during the tourist season but you are allowed to park in the garage across the street.

The caesar salad served table side is fantastic. I would visit just for this. We had the veal Marsala and chicken oregano. The marinara sauce with our pasta was also very good. Overall, a great view and quality food. Only thing I wish they had was fresh pasta.

This place is nice but a little hard to find unless you know where you are going. It’s actually in the Holiday Inn Hotel. The view is awesome though of the ocean and all seats face the Ocean which is a nice touch. I got the filet which was really good but beware… they tend to overlook the temperature in opinion so you may want to go one step lower when ordering steak. I ended up sending mine back because I asked for Medium but it seemed closer to Med Well. Then it took an exceptionally long time to get the new steak, to the point everyone else at the table was done. All in all, aside for the slight issue, the steak was amazing and very flavorful. The ambiance is nice and comfortable but they do have business casual dress code. I would rate them a 4 aside from having to sending the food back. Overall, a good place to eat.

Known for thier veal dishes, Isle of Capri is the classic Italian experience. It reminds me of what I call a «Mob Restaurant» those classy joints, where you can imagine old world criminals sitting in the corner ordering the best of everything!(This is not a bad thing!!) You don’t get that kinda vibe anywhere, you won’t walk into a Carabba’s and feel that kind of authenticity, this comes from a place with years of experience and owners that love what they do. They’re not tryign to serve you Fois Gras encrusted something or other, it’s a big olé’ plate of deliciousness you’re gunna get, with tons to take to go. This is the place I take Mom when she’s in town. Every seat in the house has a good view, with huge windows facing the Ocean, and high enough up that your significant other won’t be gawking at passerbys in bikinis.

So this is probably more like a 3.5 stars experience for me. I have wrestled with myself about whether to give this a 3 or a 4 star and I have decided to give it the lower because there just weren’t that many things about the restaurant that impressed me but there were a few that disappointed me. The food was decent but not spectacular, the staff was friendly but not anticipatory to patron needs. The atmosphere was probably to best thing about the place, it had huge windows throughout the restaurant giving every table a great view of the beach, which was beautiful. My sister and mom ordered a Ceasar salad and the waitress prepared it for us at our table. It was interesting to see how the dressing was made and now that I think of it, this was probably another cool thing I really enjoyed at this restaurant. I ordered the Salmon Della Casa, which came with a bowl of spagetti. It was delicious and I have no complaints about it. My mother had the Filet al Pepe Nero, which is a steak seasoned with peppercorn and served with a peppercorn brandy sauce. I tried it and I thought the peppercorn was a little intense and kind of overwhelming. My sister had the Capri House Steak, which I tasted and thought was the best out of all our meals. It was a New York strip steak that came topped with onions and mushrooms and melted mozzarella. I also had the tiramisu for dessert which tasted great. However, there were several minor things that alone would be no big deal but when combined they really diminished my dining experience. The first was the lack of detail to cleanliness. We were seated in a booth that had a clean table but the seats were full of crumbs. Then there were a few pesky gnats flying around the restaurant, which was very annoying. lastly, would be the narrow walking path between the tables, which did not leave adequate space for people to pass especially if the server was making a Ceasar salad at the table side. So all in all I say my experience was 3.5 stars.
