Have eaten here quite a few times, always raved about the food, today we had breakfast here, nothing to rave about, really disappointed. One person got the pumpkin pancakes, really small pancakes for the price. Another person got the French toast, she only ate two bites, advised the server that she did not like, said she was sorry and presented the ticket that reflected a charge for the French toast. When questioned she said she would check on it, came back and said she would take ½ off of price — that is lousy customer service in my book. I had the soft shell crab eggs Benedict — it arrived about 5 minutes after everyone else’s meals and was cold. Not one time after we received our food were we asked if we needed anything or were we checked on, just dropped the check off and gone. There is an atmosphere of being rushed; hurry up and place your order, eat, pay(and you will pay $$$ $ 65.00 plus for 3 of us for breakfast), and leave. Good example of a restaurant that started with great food, gets noticed and then service and food falls off.

The only problem we had was finding a parking space. Otherwise the food and service were great. I got the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and for me they were good not great, may be because it was my first time eating smoked salmon. The rest of the food my family ordered was great.

I absolutely love citrus. You get good portions of food for a low price. The food is always fresh and the mimosas are very yummy. It’s good for the whole family or as a brunch spot with friends. I love the omelets they make here as well as the Mango mimosa. If you haven’t tried citrus I would recommend it.

Delightful, fresh, open and airy. Charming eatery off the main drag of Shore Drive. Fresh, healthy choices, decent proportions. Breakfast and lunch only, they close at 3:00 pm. When you do something good, stick with it. Mimosas choices were plentiful. I had the kiwi-strawberry Popsicle mimosa and it was delicious. The quinoa salad with raspberry vinaigrette and grilled chicken was hardy but light. Will try again!

Kristen was awesome, and she brought us some of the most delicious breakfast ever! The drinks were out of this world, fresh squeezed!

My mimosa was average but my meal was outrageously expensive and not even that great for something I basically, had to create myself. I am began and asked the waitress if I could ’ reate’ something off of the offerings on the menu… a simple sandwich of hummus and vegetables. She obliged and said she could make it work, NEVERINFORMINGME that there are absolutely no substitutions and that EVERYEXTRAVEGETABLE I WANYEDTOADD would be an extra $ 1-$ 3. I almost screamed expletives out loud when I received my check. My simple, non cooked, non toasted bread sandwich was $ 16 before tax. My sandwich consisted of bread, cucumbers, hummus, tomato, spinach(of which I received an ENTIREBOWL– such a waste), and avocado. When I asked the waitress to explain the pricing she informed me that she charged me for a $ 9 sandwich, took off the egg and cheese and charged me for extra hummus, avocado, and spinach. I asked her to speak with the manager… she did and, apparently, there was nothing he could do for me. I asked to speak to him. He explained that while they were ‘working’ on vegan options there were none at this time and there was nothing he could do to help with my $ 16 sandwich(which btw, came out separately and I had to make it myself… why did I even come to a restaurant?). It wasn’t until I asked for the owners name and number that he went into the back to call her and returned, having REFUNDEDMEFORTHESPINACH(most of which was thrown away because I received an entire bowl of it for a sandwich). Now my sandwich totaled $ 13. I WASNEVERTOLDTHAT I WOULDBECHARGEDINTHISMANNEROR I MAYHAVEMADEDIFFERENTCHOICES. I did not walk out on my bill nor did I stiff my waitress… I am not that kind of person. I did leave furious however, and I will not be going there EVERAGAIN. I will also advise any vegan not to eat there… any where and everywhere I can on social media because this was just ABSOLUTELYRIDICULOUS! Typically I would expect an ‘I am so sorry, this time we will work with you but please know that next time this is how we do things…’. I am shocked at how I was treated and the lack of flexibility that they were willing to give in this situation.

Came here for breakfast on a Friday. I was told there would be a 15 minute wait, but it was about 5. We got a table on the back porch(where you can bring your dog!) If there is space at the bar you can be seated instantly. I got the citrus pancakes and my boyfriend got the chocolate chip pancakes. I recommend the citrus pancakes, the glaze was absolutely delicious. His chocolate chip pancakes were nothing special though. The chocolate chips was just a measly serving on top, rather than inside the pancake. The coffee was delicious, but the waitresses tended to spill it on the table when they were done pouring. They had a hand scrub from a local company in the ladies room, which was nice! Good establishment, okay food, will probably return because of the great atmosphere.

Amazing!!! Fr the wonderful service from Heather to the. Delicious mimosas, lump crab omelet, soft shell crab eggs Benedict, and we even tried the chicken sausage… amazing!!! I had the lump crab omelet and it was worth every penny. There was plenty of crab meat throughout. Eggs were perfect with bits of bacon and spinach… yummmmmmmmm. my husband didn’t speak the entire time lol, he was busy eating. He thoroughly enjoyed his soft shell crab. The place was packed but they have a bar option for quicker seating. We took that option and was not disappointed. We will definitely be back in the near future. Keep up the great work ladies and gents!!!

Holy guacamole this place is fantastic! Every bite of food was incredible. The smoked salmon salad was so good I cleared my plate. I can’t believe how much fish they give you. Service was great. Only weird thing: All the waitresses wore short shorts and flip flops. Go to citrus!

Tried the country chicken Benedict and jumbo lump crab eggs Benedict at citrus while visiting Virginia Beach. Both the dishes were way beyond my expectations. The chicken was so juicy and tender while the crab was very flavorful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the Virginia beach area.

Stopped by during my trip to VA Beach. My boyfriend and I were ambitious and ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Eggs Benedict, County Chicken Eggs Benedict, and the Citrus Pancake to share. I really enjoyed all three dishes. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly, and food came out pretty quick. I would definitely go again or recommend this restaurant to a friend! ** if you order hash browns on the side, make sure to ask for them scattered, or else they don’t come out crispy.

My girlfriend and I visited Citrus on an early Sunday afternoon for brunch. I have to say we were very pleased with our dining experience. First of all, our server Sarah was excellent. Very helpful and attentive without hovering and also very pleasant. I started my meal with a basic bloody Mary that was delicious. My girlfriend ordered the cinnamon raisin French toast and I ordered steak and eggs. I am normally not a big French toast fan however hers was delicious. My steak and eggs were cooked perfectly and the side of hashbrowns potatoes were excellent. Other than tight parking, there was not one negative in our brunch, and we can’t wait to go back.

The mimosas are so huge and so good! Potatoes pancakes are hearty and are not sweet! Each time you order them, the server makes sure you know what you are getting, because they are not«pancakes», as Americans know them. I think they are fabulous! A definite must try! I love exploring the menu and trying new items! There is a «staging» are for before brunch cocktails. Love this place!

My boyfriend and I found this place from looking at other Unilocal reviews and after our first visit here, we knew why it had such great reviews! We came in right as it opened(7am) and were seated right away. I really loved the atmosphere here — everyone was very friendly and welcoming, which was great to see that everyone was so lively so early in the morning. The food was delicious and well worth the money. I will definitely be back the next time I visit VA Beach!

I’ve been to Citrus a couple of times, and before, I never found it as amazing as everyone though. Yeah, it was on Diner, Drive Ins and Dives, but it wasn’t anything to write home about. Until now. My friends and I were camping at First Landing, just down the street. We came here for brunch around 8:30AM, and the parking lot was already packed. Parking is terrible at Citrus, we couldn’t even find street parking. They have valet parking on weekends, but apparently the attendant doesn’t get there till 9AM? If anything, get there early just so you can avoid any problems with parking. Because it’s a pain. We had a group of 10, but the wait was only 15 minutes. We sat outside on the benches waiting for our table when the manager(maybe owner?) came out and cheerfully told us there was a bar and an indoor waiting area we could hang out at instead of in the sun. Can I just say, everybody works there probably had to pass some sort of customer service/friendly attitude test. Everyone was so friendly and happy. It made our brunch that much better. I wish every restaurant would check out Citrus’s waitstaff, because they were amazing. I got a tropical mimosa, it was a lot more fruity than I thought. It was delicious. We were seated pretty soon afterwards. Our waitresses was the coolest and super efficient. The past couple of times here, I’ve gotten the eggs benedict and the citrus pancakes. Honestly, I would pass on the citrus pancakes. They’re good pancakes, but nothing special. The citrus sauce isn’t something I would really like on pancakes, and the fruit wasn’t anything spectacular and kind of just put on the plate. It just didn’t really mesh well. The eggs benedict are good, but pretty standard. This time around, I ordered the Mango and Almond Croissant French Toast. Never thought mangoes and almonds went together, but YEAHTHEYDO. It came with 4 pieces of croissant french toast and was COVERED in mango pieces with slivered almonds and a vanilla icing. The flavors went well, the croissant french toast was surprisingly really good. It wasn’t mushy at all, and tasted great. Let’s just say everybody sitting around me was pretty jealous they didn’t order the same thing. Whenever I’m in the area and looking for a solid brunch, I’ll come to Citrus. You can’t go wrong with great service and amazing croissant french toast.

I thought I had already updated my review for Citrus but apparently not so here goes! I’ve always loved this place — but I had an issue with the lack of seating for the long long loooooong waits. The wait is slightly better now that they’ve opened the second location. We’ve rarely waited longer than about 25 – 30 minutes at the most and usually it’s less than that now. Also, there is a large waiting area around the back and it’s really cute with tons of seating, some comfy seats, and some corn hole. We even visited in May on Mother’s Day and waited for only about 20 – 30 minutes — but we did arrive pretty early and the wait was much longer when we left. I pretty much always stick to the same thing — the pumpkin pancakes with the amazing maple glaze! Mmmmm!!! It comes with eggs and either sausage or bacon and they’re always cooked to perfection(I like that they offer turkey). Their menu is large and there are loads of healthy options sourced from local farmers(which I absolutely love) that I’d like to try. I just can’t seem to not get the pumpkin pancakes! Oh well — one of these days. They have daily specials made from the local goodies and have lots of specialty bar drinks as well. We love to sit out on the patio and enjoy the breeze from the fans they have set up under the shaded porch. This patio is also pet-friendly which we enjoy because the fur-babies are so sweet!
