Liz was awesome! She did my hair and makeup for my wedding in Sandbridge and I have never felt so beautiful :) I hardly ever wear makeup so I was very unsure on what to do for my big day but I provided Liz with some photos of what I liked and told her to do what she thought would look best in that direction and she went above and beyond to make everything perfect!
She also did a few of my bridesmaid’s hair and everyone was very happy with the final outcome.
I would definitely recommend Liz for any of your hair and makeup needs!

I had Morgan as my stylist and had her do two trials and both were okay. First trial, the style looked nothing like the picture, second style two hours later the curls went flat and the braid came out. I am just happy I did the trial because I would have been let down if I had her on my wedding day. Liz the owner though I will say was great, she was easy to communicate with and wished me well in finding someone that will be able to work with my hair come the wedding day.

I came to Behind the Veil Studio because my hair stylist of nearly 5 years now works here. I can’t really base my review on her work because I love her and she’s been my hair girl for so long. So my review is based on the experience with the location and the other staff. The location is conveniently located right off Birdneck as you come off 264. I blinked and missed it, but will definitely know next time. The interior of the space is beautifully decorated with nice calming colors and a warm atmosphere. There is a special room located to the front which appears to be for their bridal sessions. It look lovely. The girl at the front working the phones and register was very nice and made sure to ask if I needed anything to drink (coffee, tea, etc) while I waited. They also have a loyalty program that gets you points towards services. I felt very comfortable there. Unlike the last place my stylist worked, they don’t have assistants to shampoo hair and because my girl was super swamped, another girl afford to help. I thought that was very nice. But honestly, I love this place because this is where my stylist is now. Her name is Megan M. and she’s awesome!

I love coming here. The staff is friendly and the location is beautiful. You leave feeling like they truly care about you and want you to come back. Top notch all the way!

Liz Alfier is awesome. She did my hair and makeup for a Great Gatsby Themed event and she did a spectacular job and I received so many compliments and I highly recommend her for a haircut, color, bridal party, wedding, and any special event that you want to look great.

They were really nice and did a great job on my hair, I went in with a groupon deal for partial high lights and a deep conditioning job. But the woman doing my hair took FOREVER. Chatting with anyone and everyone else in the salon. It took over 3 hours for what should have been a much simpler procedure.

I went to Behind the Veil Studio because I found a Groupon for a partial highlight, so I made an appointment and was able to get in the same day with a stylist named Dawn. When I walked in I was greeted immediately with a warm welcome from Dawn who was excited to meet me and get started right away.

Through personal experiences I’m always nervous about going to a new hair salon and trusting a new stylist. It seems like some are great at color, but not so great at hair cuts, some are great at hair cuts but not so good with color… some just do what they want… but Dawn was the complete opposite she highlighted and cut my hair exactly the way I wanted and pictured it. It’s been a very long time since I’ve left the salon loving my hair and after I left Dawns chair I FELL IN LOVE WITH MY HAIR! I am so, so, so lucky to have finally found an amazing, talented, experienced, affordable stylist and I could not be happier.
If you are not in love with you hair then you are going to the wrong person. if you are ready for a change or just need a touch up rest assured Dawn is the hidden Gem you’ve been searching for!!!

I got my hair and make up done at Behind the Veil for a wedding last month. I’ve been in several weddings before that required me to get hair and make up services from other vendors, and I have to say, no has been as good as Behind the Veil! I was so so happy with the outcome! I didn’t have a clear idea of what I wanted at first and I vaguely described my vision, but the hair and make up ladies read my mind and knew exactly what I wanted! They were friendly, professional, and made me feel so comfortable, even offering me a glass of wine. If you’re getting your hair done for any special occasion, ask from British! She was awesome!
I also noticed other customers getting their hair done. They cut, color, style — they do it all — and all with a smile.
I strongly suggest that you go here to get ready for any special occasion. I had a great experience here! I would give them 10 stars if I could.

When a bridal crisis hits — whether its nerves or a wardrobe malfunction — Behind the Veil Studio comes to the rescue without batting an eye.
Last week, I got my hair and makeup done at Behind the Veil with the bride and fellow bridesmaids. I brought a photo along of the updo I wanted and my stylist did an excellent job recreating the look. All of the other updos and styles on the bride and bridesmaids were also spectacular and held up during the ceremony and reception.
The makeup artist who did my makeup is amazing. She shaped my neglected eyebrows and the makeup looked natural but noticeable, which is what I asked for.
The moment we realized that this is a special place is when two bridesmaids changed into their dresses and the zippers broke. With the ceremony in less than an hour, you imagine the panic. The hair stylists and makeup artists of Behind the Veil went right into crisis recovery mode and brought out sewing kits and sewed the girls into their dresses. The two bridesmaids made it to the ceremony on time and you couldn’t even tell that they were sewn into their dresses.
We all looked gorgeous, especially the bride. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
