Tora, Tora, Tora!(dive, dive, dive) but fun, friendly and the cleanest bathrooms in any dive I’ve been. Two families were here, regulars, several walk in pick ups and us. Happy wait and bar staff and yummy chili dogs. Crispy gravy fries as a side and a small but broad selection of beers. Cheap wine as a bonus. Please come and spend some time here and have a great DOG!

This is nothing more than carnival food. The fries come in a cup. I ordered a chili dog without cheese and it came with cheese. The place is dark, and when I used the restroom I almost fell because there was a step leading up to the restroom which I couldn’t see. It is a dive.

Vienna Inn is one of those places that become instantly instilled with nostalgia. Also, it’s a whole package deal, you come here for the friendly service, the welcoming atmosphere and oh so delicious chili-cheese dogs. Of course your visit won’t be complete with out a heaping bowl of chili fries and a tall fountain drink. Whenever I return for the holidays or just to visit friends and family, I always make it a point to swing by and enjoy. So… maybe I’m biased but to me, these are the sort of spots we should all treasure and keep in business with our patronage.

I like this place… a lot. Does that make me old? I don’t care. The bartenders were fantastic, and the crowd at the bar was even better. There’s something about sitting at a old-school bar, some sort of sport event on the tv, and hearing the stories of the slightly older than me guys(and gals) around me. The people are very friendly, and the prices can’t be beat. Families crowded the tables ordering chili dogs while adult couples and singles stayed close to the bar. The regulars were known by name, yet the staff treated me like a regular on my first visit. Go, drink, eat, enjoy, repeat.

I can’t give an review of service or food or prices because when I walked in and saw the disgusting condition of the place, I walked out. Mind you, I had a gift certificate, so it wouldn’t have cost me a cent. But I could not eat in a place as filthy as this one. Doesn’t Vienna monitor cleanliness of eating establishments?

Time for an update. Been a while since I have been here. Was out late the other night and was hungry, wanted something I don’t do a lot and thought I would stop here. I went up to the bar and sat down, and asked if I wanted a beer. I got a Vienna Lager and really enjoyed it. Nice flavor, well rounded, and before I knew it, I was done with it. When I had sat down I had asked for a menu and was given one right away, I was asked what I wanted to eat and I got a bacon cheeseburger and fries. The Bacon Cheeseburger was great. Nice beef patty, cooked well and the fries. Always loved the fries here. Great, crispy shoe string fries. I ended up having two more beers and then when I got my check and almost fell out of my chair. 3 beers, a bacon cheeseburger and fries for under $ 20. Wow! What a great deal, under $ 4 a beer, and a good one at that. Makes me want to come back again soon! If you want good food and a great value, I recommend this place. Oh, one criticism still… Why do you have a printed menu that you give your customers that has not a single price on it? I mentioned this on my last review and its still the case. The laminate on the menu was falling apart, so the many was probably printed a long time ago, which means they don’t need to update it with changes in food prices. But as a customer I should not have to ask how much the food is going to cost before I order it. Oh and the two bartenders working were really nice as well. Will be back soon@

I’ve heard about this Virginia institution for years. We had errands to run in Oakton this past Saturday around lunch so decided to stop in on a whim. We got a little confused finding the place — Maple Ave E vs. W, but finally figured it out and pulled in the parking lot. This place has been around longer than me — first opened in 1960. Saturday about 12:30 it was crowded. Lots of families at tables — we saw and made a beeline towards 2 empty seats at the bar. First impression — cramped, uneven floor, a bit dingy and maybe in need of some renovation and serious scrubbing — typical dive bar. I actually love dive bars as does my husband. He literally grew up in them playing drums with his family’s band starting around age 12. Good dive bars are usually a good place to find friendly locals, cold beer and decent food. I’ll have to say Vienna Inn falls into that category. The food is the type that would have been perfect after a night of overindulging. Simple, but decent — nothing gourmet. My husband and I both tried the chili dogs loaded with chili, mustard, onions and the cheese sauce and shared a small order of fries. I’m not normally a fan of cheese sauce and next time I would definitely ask them to go a bit lighter on the sauce, but all in all it was a good experience. My husband loves chili dogs so I definitely made his day with my suggestion to visit Vienna Inn for lunch. There are a probably about 10 beers on tap that I could see. The typical Bud or Miller selections which I try to avoid… sorry that is just NOT beer. I was happy to see a few craft selections on tap as well. I settled on a Devil’s Backbone Vienna Lager. It was served in a mug so frosty that the beer that spilled over the edge froze to the glass. I absolutely love a cold beer and was quite a happy camper to enjoy one with my lunch. The servers behind the bar were friendly and efficient. Although it was crowded we didn’t have to wait long for drinks or food. Checkout was quick with no issues. People sitting around us at the bar were chatty and friendly. Overall, it was just a fun place to enjoy a quick lunch and an ice cold beer.

The Vienna Inn is one of those dive-y hole in the wall places that you keep returning to due to the nostalgia. I’ve been coming with my family here for years, and will be back for years to come. The Vienna Inn had been an involved part of the community for years, sponsoring many a sports team, as you’ll see the large quantity of local sports trophies and plaques on display. The French Toast here is the bomb dot com after a morning of biking the O&D Trail, and the Loaded Chili Dog and Shoestring Fries are a staple. It can get pretty crowded here on Friday & Saturday nights, so either come early, or come prepared to scrounge for a table. The only thing I would change about the place is extending its Sunday hours so that folks can stay late during football season. Other favorites besides their signature staples are the Fried Mushrooms + Ranch, and the Chicken Quesadilla. Grab a Loaded Chili Dog and a Birch Beer, and enjoy!

My husband LOVES the pancakes here. And the waitress was very nice. But no one tells you you have to get your own coffee or where it is. You have to watch the locals. The only thing left to say is ‘be prepared to eat with your eyes closed’. Every piece of furniture is falling apart and will snag your clothes, so don’t go for Sunday Brunch all dressed up. The floor is uneven in many places which made it difficult for me to walk around(with my foot issues). It wasn’t until I was leaving that I noticed it has a bar. That must be what keeps this place in business, because it is very busy. I did wonder when was the last year the health department dropped by?

For those that like to find where the locals go in an ever modernizing suburban world, this has it all. It’s divey on purpose or maybe not. But don’t drive by if in Viennna and want a drink or sandwich.

So we’ve heard bout the famous must try chili cheese dogs at this place that has been around for years and so we couldn’t wait to finally try them. We walked in and it was what we expected, cute and cozy old school diner type with arcade games and that laid back feel. You seat yourself and get your own drinks and the waiters are sweet. We just ordered two chili cheese dogs and the honey stung fried chicken. Fried chicken came out fresh and crispy, and the chili dogs came out slowly after. I’m sorry to say that we were so disappointed in the quality of these dogs and the chili. My boyfriend took one bite and I can tell that he was mad at the taste of it especially since we were so excited to finally try these so called famous must try chili dogs. Don’t waste your time trying them. The chili dogs at 7 – 11 are better.

I came here with some friends last week. It’s divey, which is just fine. A long review is not really necessary. Most of us got burgers with carolina pork BBQ and slaw on top. They were pretty good. Not excellent, but not bad at all. Their beer selection was decent. I got a Lost Rhino Face Plant IPA. I have two gripes which knocked the rating down a bit… First of all: there were no prices on the menu. I can certainly afford to eat here, but it struck me as odd. What’s the reason? Do prices change frequently? Secondly: don’t serve IPAs in frosty beer mugs. If you’re going to serve craft beer, please get some proper glassware and don’t serve it in an icy mug!

About a 1 – 1.5: The Vienna Inn has been around since 1960 and is nestled in downtown Vienna. The hubs and I were in the area, and since I’d heard recently about their famous ‘chili cheese dogs’(and, who doesn’t like chili cheese dogs!!!), we decided to make a quick pit stop to sample some of their offerings. The menu, which is on the back wall, lists items such as breakfast options(egg platters, chipped beef, omelets), appetizers(buffalo shrimp, fried mushrooms, quesadillas, etc.), soup, salads, sandwiches, burgers, and chili options(chili mac, chili cheese dog, and even a vegetarian chili). I tried the Buffalo Chicken Wings(which comes in either mild, medium, or hot; I opted for the hot) — the wings came sauced up and were of generous size; the bleu cheese was chunky, but forgettable; I wasn’t a fan of these wings, as they seemed more on the bland side, regardless of their ‘pungent’ scent); Fried Zucchini(this actually came with ranch dressing, rather than the bleu cheese that was stated; while the exterior batter was crispy, the zucchini inside was mushy, stringy, and just didn’t taste fresh at all; the dipping in the ranch dressing also didn’t help); the hubs had a cup of the New England Clam Chowder(while it was a generous bowl and more on the thicker side, it was extremely underseasoned and too overwhelmingly bland to finish); and, 2 Chili-Cheese Dogs(came with diced onions, chili, and nacho-esque cheese on top; we both were just not fans of these dogs, as the hot dog seemed of low quality and from a package; the chili itself was just okay, but it was more of a ground beef and tomato sauce concoction; the cheese was quite generous, but I just wasn’t a fan of the taste, and it didn’t really add much to the dog; the bun was soft, and the dogs came on a little doily(which I thought was cute)). We ate like 3% of the food and didn’t care to bring any back with us, as it was just not tasty and honestly, found it inedible. The lone cashier/server here was friendly, but with the lunch rush and only 1 server working the restaurant and the cashier, it seemed to be a little chaotic. Some of the tables were not cleared, and the restaurant itself, while having that old-school vibe, was just dingy and sticky. Drinks, getting your silverware, and napkins are all self-serve; we were confused, as when we walked in, we were not greeted or seated; we saw a line at the cashier and assumed that we order up at the front and that they bring the food out to you; however, I guess you just sit down at a table of your choosing and wait for a server. We ordered up at the front anyways, as it seemed to be more of a quicker process. I’m glad I was able to check out Vienna Inn, but will definitely not return! +not-so-tasty/inedible food T___T +self-serve for drinks/silverware/napkins +friendly cashier/server +seat yourself or order up at the front(to-go)

I used to frequent this place a few years back and it was always the cheap dive with ok beers and great fries with cheese that would only set you back a few bucks. And that statement still holds true today, albeit a bit more underwhelming. I ordered a simple dish, grilled cheese with tomatoes and onions, fries on the side. The fries were a little crispy, a little hard. I can let that pass as it went decently with my beer. The sandwich well… I’ll be honest. It came out cold, and the Kraft cheese that was on it was noticeably more hardened than when immediately freshly made. There wasn’t a whole lot of it on there, either. The tomaties, they was cold, but more ‘rind-y’ than I’m used to. Still, fresh tasting. The onions were not grilled, and they were of the red assortment so they definitely made my breath a bit much to deal with after the fact. I ended up picking more than a few out for sheer overpowerment of the other lighter ingredients. I’m not trying to be a primadonna about it, for the prices they’re asking you really can’t complain too much. I just remember it being a bit better is all. I’ll probably be back, but I’ll prepare for the worst and hope for the best. But if that is was the worst, it could theoretically be much more so.

Went during lunch on a weekday with friends from work who had gone before. I was skeptical when we parked outside the establishment– it looked a bit sketchy to say the least. The crowd is definitely not made up of the typical business groups you might find in the Tyson’s area but more local and rough around the edges. They are known for the chili cheese dogs and had several beers on tap. You are responsible for getting your own drinks(non-alcoholic) and paying for the check by walking up to the cash register and telling them what you ordered(honor-based system). I’ve decided that this process is very quaint. The food is surprisingly good. The vegetarian chili and chili dogs were tasty in a «I know this is bad for me» way… cheez whiz and all. The staff is friendly enough. The décor could use work. Everything is a little grimy and I couldn’t shake that sticky feeling you sometimes get sitting on an amusement park ride. Overall though I didn’t find anything too offensive. I wouldn’t go back myself but wouldn’t veto if my coworkers wanted to go again.

A work colleague once told me «you know, I think chilli can go with anything» those words were kinda stuck in my head. I went to Vienna inn with my wife after we ran a 5K. Needless to say we were starving. The place is usually very busy during the weekends. We seated ourselves and we greeted by a smiley server. Few minutes later she brought us the order and we realized that we ordered the wrong food(totally our fault). She was very kind to take that food back and let us order again! We ordered 4 chilli hot dogs and a Big. Chilli fries. Yumsy! We didn’t talk to each other just exchanging happy grins and gave the food the RESPECT it deserved. We left the place fully satisfied and recharged to start the new week. Highly recommend this place!

The Vienna Inn is a place that I’ve heard about for awhile now, a dive bar favorite of Unilocaler and locals alike, so I was at first excited to sit down for two of their chili cheese dogs. The dogs were ok, but certainly not the best that I had ever had. The chili was good but I did think the dogs were slightly undercooked. However, for me, the real issue was that this place seems to be a real draw with families and the toddler set. It really is as if someone decided to plop a bar down in the middle of an elementary school or family reunion. Don’t get me wrong the place has a cool, homey feel to it, and I guess that is why it is so popular with so many locals, but I don’t think that I am going to join the Vienna Inn Mouseketeer Club anytime soon. The waitstaff was friendly enough, but they were a bit slow at times. Still, this didn’t really seem to matter to the regulars; in fact, I get the feeling that locals would rate this place 4 or 5 stars, for it does reek of hometown charm. For me, it is just a struggling 3 stars, but maybe I will have a better view of things the next time.

The vienna in is the quintessential dive bar restaurant. Don’t come in expecting fancy cuisine. Had a couple of dogs(chili of course) and the chili mac. Both were excellent. A couple of beers helped the whole thing go down. Overall, happy with the meal. Service was meh, but I didn’t expect much.

Came here one morning for breakfast. The place is really old but that’s what gives it its charm. The Good: –The chili cheesedogs: They are famous for their chili cheesedogs and rightfully so! We went for breakfast and they were serving them even at that time! A must try if you come here. –The chocolate chip pancakes: Got the chocolate chip pancakes and they were delicious –Very old place, been around forever and has a homey feel. The staff is friendly and service was timely. –They make their own soda, a «rootbeer» kinda flavor(can’t remember the name) Worth a try if you come here The Bad: –Can’t think of anything!
