Their calamari is absolutely tasty. It’s a sweet crunchy with some unique seasoning. The restaurant itself is sort of hidden. Their indoor seating area was very nice. Perfect for a casual date. A hidden gem !

It was game 6 of the Capitals vs the Flyers in the 2016 playoffs, and I was out in Tyson’s Corner at a friend’s weight lifting competition that morning. I know, a hockey playing hippie at a weight lifting competition where 90% of the room I dare not talk back to is almost like some sort of joke, but that’s just how things go sometimes. At noon the Caps were coming on, so I needed a bar close to where I was to haul butt to right before it started. I walked in, saw the bartender who looked like a character himself, and asked if they’d have the Caps game on. to which he replied«F*** no!» in a wiseass yet humorous manner. He cracked a smile and let me know which TVs they’d have the game on. Sitting down at the corner of the bar, the TV on the game but with no sound, a manager type person asked if I’d like it on. I was shocked and responded only if it wouldn’t be inconvenient, but they were more than happy to do it. Then even turned it up and checked in several times with me to make sure it was loud enough. The bartender, being an older gentleman, was always quick to get drinks and a great guy to talk to. He was almost out of a movie in a way, the kind of bartender that doesn’t exist anymore. I’m sure if I asked him about life or told him my problems he would have had some really insightful things to say. Just to be clear, I’m not being sarcastic, this guy was the real deal. I did get food too, just a bunch of apps to much on, and all of those were delicious, sure. That said, the customer service, the friendliness, their will to go out of their way to accommodate me, it was all so great. If I’m out at Tyson’s and need to go to a bar, this is the place I’m going every time. Beautiful space in the dining area too, but the bar is where I’ll be every time.

The food and drink at this location is comparable to what you’d find at other Clyde’s locations but, unless you plan to sit in the noisy bar, I cannot recommend it. The panels of nude males and females cavorting together may or may not strike you as obscene, but they are BAD art. Likewise, the live palms in the main dining area are, perhaps, a horticultural achievement, but they do not suit the décor or help the ambience. On our visit, both the men’s and women’s bathrooms needed attention. Again, the food and drink were up to Clyde’s par but I will never return to this location. It is, in a word, ugly.

I don’t get the appeal for this place. It’s tucked away in Tyson’s, and the décor screams late-70’s tacky. Think bronze statues, mirrors everywhere, just visually unappealing. The prices are high for the quality of the food here, too. I had a starter salad that consisted of butter lettuce, carrots, and radishes, and it was $ 9+ My biggest complaint? So, a trainee waiter accidently dumped two glasses of ice water on my 1-year old daughter, I know that it was accidental, and everyone was apologetic, but instead of comping my meal, I was merely offered an appetizer. I wasn’t even going to get an appetizer. I felt like they could have done a better job in showing their sorrow for the situation. The long and short of it is, there is no way that I’ll be back.

I live nearby and had a tough time finding the restaurant. The ambiance is like most clydes maybe a little less people compared to the one in reston. Friendly staff and good drinks

Went for happy hour on a Saturday. There were a good number of people around the bar. Our bartender was attentive and personable, even showing us how the oysters were laid out which NEVER happened before at any clyde’s location. Usually, the oysters are put on the table and quickly they tell us what each is(sometimes not even that) and then you quickly forget.

RAWBARHHEVERYDAY? Sign me up: D They do half priced oysters everyday from 3 – 6. EVERYDAY. I love coming on the weekends because its usually very quiet and the bartenders are super nice. My most recent visit had the most yummy oysters — salt pond and sunberry point. I really liked those two options. They change frequently!!! I came just a month ago and all the ones I had during that visit were gone. I enjoy the medium sized ones, anything that size large, I avoid. The outside looks a bit hurt :/and there aren’t many patrons. The bar was fuller than I’ve seen it in my previous visits, but it is by no means full. I hope clydes survives all the new businesses coming in, it has such character inside.

Not the best experience. I’ve been here 2 times. The first time I had the NY Strip and it was — ok. A little tough, but not bad. Flavor was good, and the potato cake and spin ache was good. Service was good! My 2nd visit was on a Saturday; we went early, and had reservations. Service was just ok; I ordered the same thing and this time the NY steak was awful — tough. A poorer grade of beef — AND it cost more! They increased the price from $ 19 to $ 26 and it was tooooo tough to eat. I will not be back.

Had the whole place to ourselves for Brunch! Yes, the décor is a little… 70s/Scarface, but hey, beats other alternatives. Had the eggs benedict, which were fantastic and well-cooked. Others in our party had the breakfast tacos, steak and eggs, and other egg dishes — all were well-received. And don’t forget to order a breakfast cocktail ;-) Service was great — very attentive, waters were always full, and everyone left happy. Can’t wait to come back for happy hour!

I’ve been coming to clydes for about 4 years now and I just realized I’ve never written a review! This place is my go-to when I want a drink and some wings with my coworkers after a long day. With all the new bars and restaurants opening up in the Tysons mall location, this still beats them all. If you ever get the chance to have Emily as your bartender your in luck! She’s the shit;) Also, the BLT isn’t on the menu anymore but you can still order it and I highly recommend it!

Clyde’s is pretty hit or miss with people according to my friends and family. Heck, scroll through the Unilocal reviews and you’ll see what I mean. Their location in Tyson’s isn’t bad, but it is in a bit of a weird spot to get to. Nevertheless this place is a good American style eatery with the scenery that takes you back to the 1950s at its bar and some… interesting(and nude) wall paintings. Add it with the lighting and the whole restaurant has an interesting feel to it, as if it’s laid back but in a good way. The food is excellent. I’ve had their seafood, burgers, cheese platter, you name it, but what’s great about Clyde’s is that the price range on the menu is pretty wide. You want to be cheap? Get a burger for 13 bucks. Want to spend more? Look at their seafood options or add a cheese platter. I’ve never had a problem with the food here. What brings Clyde’s from a 5 star to a 4 star ID the service though. Some servers are pretty good about keeping their tables in check but there have been a few times at this place where my party has been ignored, from water glasses being left empty for a while to either the food or check taking a good 10 minutes longer than normal to get back to us. All in all though, its a nice place in Tysons, at least in my opinion. Happy eating!

This location is a terrible representation of the Clyde’s chain. I came with a large dinner party. Orders were placed, appetizers and salads came out at the same time as entrees did. Actually I take that back, one entrée was missing… MINE. The majority of the dinner party had eaten half of their meal before mine even arrived. My fiancé asked him if my order had been forgotten and he said that my dish had been dropped so it had to be remade. I wish he would have let me know and ATLEAST apologized, but NOPE! Aside from the issue with my order, the staff barely came to check on our party. Our drinks were not refilled ONCE. I will never EVER go back to this location and I hope my review spares at least one person from the horrible experience that I had.

I absolutely love this location. The bartenders are the best and I love the late night ambience. The last time I was there I had the vegetarian banh mi sandwich, which was out of this world! It was one of the best vegetarian sandwiches I’ve ever had. I heard a rumor they might close this location, but please don’t! I have so many great memories coming here when I used to work at Tyson’s Corner mall.

I used to love Clydes… I have such great memories. I moved to the area in 1999 and back then it was the place to be!!! I used to love dinning here as well as just having a drink at a bar. Lately it has changed… I hope the owners read this. I dont know who got fired or what changed but in the last 4 years the culture has slowly changed. Customers are not no1. Managers are cocky and dont want to hear complaints. Its very sad. They used to bend over backwards to make customers happy. Now they dont really care. Whenever people would come from overseas or from another state I would proudly take them to Clydes and brag about how«only in this area» you could get those crabcakes. The first time they failed me was like 4 years ago for my bday. I took my aunt(she just got here from Europe) and it was a disaster. The service was Horrible. That was in Georgetown. The last time it happened was during summer 2015. I took my other aunt(from moms side) to Tysons and the same thing. I asked for the mgr and she started defending her staff. Its really sad. I used to make up excuses thinking it would be just the guy that was there at the time but today I realized its much bigger than that. Their culture has changed. Im very sad. I feel like a family member just died. I know its corny. When my now husband moved here for the first time I took him to Clydes. A year later we got married and had the party upstairs in Tysons. It was beautiful. Tysons, georgetown and Ashburn were my 3 favorite. Its really sad. Thanks for all those years. GoodBye.

This is a restaurant and bar that is close to my headquarters in McLean. I love going here as the menu is really good. If your in the mood for steak they have awesome steak if your looking for sea food, you would think your on the water. The staff seems pretty stable. The bar tender has worked here basically since it opened. You appreciate a little stability when your on the road. For a DC Area restaurant the food is pretty well priced.

I’d been to the Clyde’s location in Chinatown, so I was wondering how this location would compare. Firstly, the restaurant seems to be in an obscure part of Tysons. The hostesses in the front were nice, charming and the interior was nicely decorated. It took awhile for us to get service, we were looking at our menus for quite awhile before our server came by. The friend I was with asked her for recommendations, and it seemed like she couldn’t really pinpoint anything, just referring to everything as «good». I ordered the chicken salad, which was a bit small in my opinion, and a little underdressed. but was fine overall. The apple juice I ordered came with a lot of ice, which watered it down very quickly. Overall, service was spotty, it seemed there was only one server working. The food was okay, but nothing to come back for.

Five stars for the happy hour experience. This is oyster heaven!!! Whether you want delicious, briny raw oysters or sauced up oysters(grilled kimchee butter oysters with ramps, yummmm), this is the place to be. Their other non-oyster happy hour menu items are also quite tasty, such as their hummus trio(highly, highly recommended). I was so impressed by their happy hour menu, and also impressed with the great service that we received from a kind gentleman, whose name I regret not getting. He was professional and attentive and understanding. I said I felt bad for not finishing all my pita, after requesting a refill, and he started to eat a few to make me feel better. What a nice guy! He also took great care to remove crumbs from our dining area so as to not detract from our drinking and munching experience. This attention to details was definitely noted by me and others. Probably one of my favorite happy hours of the moment, or like ever!

Located in the maze of highways and wide roads in the Tyson’s Corner area, it’s a little hard to find and hard to reach without a car. Lots of parking and not so pedestrian friendly. The restaurant is quite large so it’s good for going with a big group as they can accommodate everyone. The staff were very nice for our large group. Normal American food as expected… I got the steak salad. The steak was cooked just right and it was good. No complaints but nothing really special.
