Crux Events

Crux provided a FLAWLESS sound system for our large wedding (170 guests) in September of 2015 in Truckee, CA. Jennifer was super easy and enjoyable to work with. Our wedding was held outdoors in the Lower River BBQ area of Truckee Regional Park. All couples will tell you how important food is for their guest’s experience but not many will go on and on about how important sound is. Yes I am a self proclaimed sound snob. I have hosted many large parties and know how quickly a bad sound system can ruin an event /​how incredibly frustrating malfunctioning equipment can be.
Getting a system to sound good indoors is hard enough /​getting one to deliver outdoors is a whole other level of complexity. Our needs for our special day were a pretty demanding list: we needed to be mic’d up for our ceremony /​needed amplified sound for a guitar soloist (and voice) /​and needed a high level system at our reception for our incredible DJ. In addition to a tight set up window we also needed all the equipment broken down and hauled away late at night. Crux delivered on all levels. Zero feedback from our mics during the ceremony — our voices were easily heard by all — and our DJ was able to keep our feet moving all night long with no equipment issues. Thank you for helping to make our’s the «best wedding ever».

Crux did the lighting for our wedding and it was PERFECT! They were so easy to work with and listened to what we wanted– executed without questions and did a perfect job!

My wife and I wanted to give a big THANK YOU to Crux Events! Woody and his team helped put together an unbelievable ceremony and reception site. We were married in the middle of July in Lake Tahoe and I knew that they had four other events in the same day. Their crew was on time and worked really well with us to get things set up just perfect. They set up tons of cables with café lights and shade structures in the trees. Their outdoor furniture was the perfect fit to modernize a rustic wedding site. It was awesome! And our indoor reception space looked great with all of their lighting including their «bliss» lights which Woody suggested would give the space a really cool feel — and it did!
It was the perfect night and would not have been possible without Woody and his crew making it happen on a super busy weekend in Tahoe.

We have hosted numerous fundraiser events with Crux Events and every time they deliver the best product, always over deliver, and help us in every way possible to make our events super successful. One of our secrets, is using CRUX events.

We rented lights, outdoor heaters, tables, and a dance floor for our wedding.
Leading up to the event, Crux was great: responsive, easy to adjust our orders, flexible with delivery times. For our actually wedding the venue’s manager had luckily arranged for Crux to deliver and set up the lights and dance floor the day before the wedding. We had a delivery and set-​up window from 12 – 2 PM. Crux came and halfway through setting up the lights they left. The setup crew came back a few hours later, about 30 minutes before our Welcome BBQ. So we had strands of lights crossing the floor where all of our guests were going to be. And even though delivery and set up is per person and for the day, only 2 of the 3 crew members returned. The two that did return walked right into people’s hotel rooms, without knocking, in order to string the lights. One bridesmaid was in her towel just out of the shower when he just walked right in and didn’t even apologize.
When I complained to Cruz, I was refunded for half of the cost for the third person who didn’t return, but was told that setup times are estimates during busy seasons. No response or even apology regarding their setup crew barging in on my guests.
I would NOT recommend Crux if you could avoid it. And if you can’t, just be sure to have them come a day early.

The most difficult people to work with. They «helped» with our January wedding. It was like pulling teeth to get anything done. Our wedding came out to be beautiful. We ended up getting a lot of supplies on our own because we couldn’t get a lot done with Crux. Good luck if you decide to go with them.

Woody and the team at Crux are total pros, and I would recommend them for any time you need event logistics in the Tahoe area.
