Milano’s Italian Restaurant

To all the Bride and groom out there. If you’re looking for a catering company who is not about the money and his about making your day wonderful and special, then I totally recommend Bruce and his crew. We had Bruce catered our wedding recently on April 29, 2016. From the beginning to start, Bruce was easy to work with, super helpful and gave great recommendations. On the day of, Bruce was there early in the afternoon to setup and made sure things was running smoothly through out the day. He was there the whole day till the party ended at 12am. Not only their service was Amazing, but the food was ABSOLUTELY delicious. Our guest couldn’t stop telling us how good the food was at our wedding. I definitely recommend Bruce and will probably use them in the future to cater parties. Thank you Bruce for making our special day special.

4 stars for the food… service was a 1. The food was delicious. The bread was okay. We had to wait for it and I thought that meant it would be warm and fresh! Not the case. Kind of had the consistency of bread that was out for awhile. Everything else was great. We had spinach and artichoke dip, bbq chicken salad, pastrami sandwich which all had great flavor. The dip was decadent.
I don’t usually complain about service because I know it’s a tough job but it was bad. Our server didn’t come over for probably 5 – 10 min after we sat down. After he took out appetizer and drink and then eventually our meal order, we still didn’t have bread or our apps! I was out of water for awhile during my meal too. He was apologetic each time he came to the table but that didn’t change anything. He also gave my friend a little extra wine so he was trying. It wasn’t that busy but he did seem slammed with others not doing much around him.
I’d try again for the food.

Milanos is a great family restaurant with great food, good prices and a front-​row seat at Ventura harbor. I have a boat at the harbor and have been eating here –or taking out– for years. I am not typically a pasta fan but their lasagna is hands-​down the best I’ve ever had… seriously, it’s traditional old school sauce and it is always excellent — definitely a must-​try. They also have great salads (which are strangely hard to find in Ventura) with their BBQ salmon salad being my favorite. Also try their sea bass which is VERY good for the price! No matter what I choose, I am always greeted by great people, some who have been there for years and some who are newer. Jenna, Hannah, Colby and Bentley are all exceptional servers who work hard to treat customers well, both in season and out — I always appreciate their service! Once Milano’s has their outside bar in place this summer, it will be a great place to hang out before and after dinner.

The service and food is always fantastic. Wednesday lobster is a must! Thank you for making my mother’s birthday perfect!

Bruce is absolutely amazing! Milanos catered my wedding November 2015 and it was spectacular! The guests loved the food and still talk about it today. Undoubtedly the most affordable caterer in the area. Bruce was so helpful and attentive. Major bonus, tables, chairs and dishes are included in the catering! I was so grateful I didn’t have to go with an additional vendor. Milano’s will definitely be catering my sister’s wedding and we will be back for our 1 year anniversary! Thanks Milano’s! Most memorable food, hands down.

My husband and I had our graduation party here and I have to say we had the best food and service! Jenna was one of our main waitresses and she was very attentive with everyone in our party (20 plus people). I would highly recommend anyone who is hosting a party of this size to consider Jenna and the Milanos staff :)

Had lunch their yesterday. Great service. Great food. Our waiter Bentley was superb from the start. He was polite attentive and always went out of his way to see that we were well taken care of. I would recommend this restaurant when your looking for great atmosphere on a beautiful sunny day. You can sit outside and watch the boats come in. Or just people watch. Either way it’s a great way to spend a day.

We ordered the brownie sundae ice cream and they just serve the brownie sundae with whip cream and said «we don’t have ice cream» and walked away… Told them I wasn’t happy they compensate by not charging for 1 of our coffees when there is free refill on the coffee … Definitely not happy with this place… If they can substitute ice cream for whip cream I should be able to pay them with Monopoly money

Bruce and crew were amazing. The food was delicious too. Glad to be here on a Tuesday evening.

Drove out last night to Ventura County and decided to check out this restaurant for dinner. There is a convenient parking lot and we were able to snag a spot pretty fast. We chose to sit outside as the view was fantastic. We were facing the water and it was a great experience to start with.
The restaurant seems pretty busy when we came so we were astonished how fast the service was. I ordered the chicken piccata and it came out within 10 – 15 minutes. The food was very delicious and tender.
For drinks we ordered some beers to accompany our food. Our servers name was Molly and I can truly say it was one of the best customer service experiences I have ever encountered. She constantly came to check up on us if we wanted more drinks, or if anything else was needed. We told her that it was our first time in the area so she even gave some great recommendations of things to check out. Definitely a 5 star experience thanks to the waitress. Will definitely be back!

You can tell he loves his place and is all about customer service. I can’t wait to come back and have a great experience here and try all the yummy food. Hopefully have a Better experience.
He responded to me right away and wanted to make it right.
I’m just waiting to see when I get the gc in mail so we can come back and try. It’s been nine days so we shall see.

I used to eat at Milanos years ago. always loved the Garlic Garlic Pizza. Tonight we ordered Best ever in my life… Chicken Piccata, Milano Special…
Spaghetti Meatballs, Chicken Fettuccini and the ¾ Lobster Special… Topped off with delicious LemonDrop!
I can’t wait too come back again from Bakersfield!

It was just okay.
Hey I understand that a couple servers called in sick or simply just didn’t show up but how long does it take to get a beer and a glass of water delivered to a table??? Well long enough that they comped the beer. Nice gesture and very sweet older guy as our server but…
Then hey… can we order a simple Margherita Pizza. Hey where did you go??? One more time… can we PLEASE order our pizza??? Like TONIGHT.
Thursday night. Maybe we were on a hidden camera to see how patient customers with horrible service can be.
Well, we won’t be going back. Not only was it horrible service or should I say NO SERVICE, the pizza wasn’t very good at all. $ 23 (plus a tip of course to be nice) for a medium rubbery barely warm Margherita Pizza and sucky service.

I love coming here. Especially after coming in and seeing painting going on in the back. I wanted to join in on the fun! I love coming here and our server was nice. :) always a joy to come in and look out onto the sky.

I regret that I am only just now getting on here to update my review because our wedding reception was incredible!!! Milano’s really shined with wonderful and perfectly timed service as well as delicious food for our small patio wedding reception in 2013! We have been back a few times since then, most recently yesterday, and I have yet to be disappointed!
If you like pulled pork, you HAVE to indulge in the Balsamic Pulled Pork sandwich… The best! I would have never thought those things go together but Milano’s changed my mind. Also, they could easily charge more for their food and with the quality AND the awesome view, I would definitely pay more… I never say that about a place but it’s almost unbelievable how affordable they are.
I never understand negative reviews for this place. I would eat here all the time if I lived in Ventura.

Came here while being hungry and pregnant. Had an hour for my lunch break and within 45 mins I had only received bread. After waiting nearly my whole break for just an appetizer… It finally arrived. I told them to box it up. so disappointed

This Italian restaurant has one thing going for it and that is… It’s on the Harbor.
I love spaghetti & meatballs it’s been my favorite meal since I was a girl, I’ve come along way from the boxed Spaghetti my Mom used to make (blech) and at a young age I concocted my own recipe, it became my signature dish.
I love robust, hearty flavors, that has tang & just a hint of sweetness, and I’m not in favor of chunky meat sauce unless the meat is going to melt in my mouth. The sauce at Milano’s lacks any real depth & I felt the spaghetti was overcooked.
Because of this experience I find Milano’s subpar, in fact I would pick the boxed stuff over ordering this again .
The location is beautiful and they do have a loyal following because they bought the Spaghetti company.
For me beautiful view or not, I’d rather eat great food that leaves me wanting more, rather than staring at my plate and wondering why I made the mistake of ordering it.

We have been there in the past and the service was relatively poor. We generally believed that it was just really busy. After tonight our opinion has changed.
The food for my daughter and myself came out in about 45 minutes. It was painstakingly slow. My wifes food came out wrong and 30 minutes later we were still waiting for it.
The old couple across from us got there food and drinks before us. And we were seated 10 minutes before they got there.
Never got a water refill.
Bread was good and we asked for more we never got it.
When my wife’s food came out wrong they brought us some bread.
They gave us 50% off of her meal. Ridiculous. We got her meal to go. It was the Salmon and it was over cooked. At least our dogs will probably like it.
My wife was extremely hungry and bitchy. Which gives this place a big thumbs down.
Service was the worst it’s ever been.
If they cleaned up the service. This place could be great.
We won’t ever be going back.

I live by the harbor so I frequent the restaurants in the harbor because they are close by. With that said, I really want to like this place — I really do but I’ve given it three tries now and it has failed miserably on each try and tonight was the final straw.
I ordered Eggplant Parmigiana and it was simply disgusting. First, they took thick uncooked rubbery eggplant and coated it with cheese goo that just fell off. They then placed it on top of tasteless spaghetti.
I know Italian food. We have a family home in Italy. I spend months at a time in Italy. This was not Italian food. If I were to feed that to an Italian, they would be mad — simply mad. This place is an insult to Italian food.
It should be against the law to have such false advertising. After all, I would get in trouble if I advertised, say, Pedicures and I, instead, beat your feet with hammers. Of course, if you believe that Taco Bell is authentic Mexican food then this is the kind of place for you.

Too bad. Such a beautiful location with horrible service. Not the waitress’ fault. I blame management.
