There is no other place like it in the Seattle area or anywhere. We take the ferry to Vashon from Seattle just to eat here. I am not sure why anyone would give a bad review they just must be hungover or would prefer to eat manufactured food like Dennys. This is real homestyle food, the bakery goods are amazing their Chai is incredible. We have had almost everything on the menu, don’t miss out. They have a sister pizza company in Seattle called World Pizza in the international district.

there aren’t a lot of choices for a vegan here. the one vegan dish I’ve gotten is deep fried, and not very healthy. the soups are usually vegan and gf, and the flavors are great. their prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is fun, and i adore the back patio in the summer. the seating is awkward and uncomfortable. i wish they’d use local and organic produce, and add some healthy vegan meals so I’d want to come here more often. i brought my mom here for her birthday. she didn’t like the dish she ordered at all. there wasn’t anything wrong with it, my mother just didn’t like the flavors. i asked the manager(owner?) if my mom could have something else. she gave me some attitude, and said that it wasn’t their fault that my mom didn’t like the dish. she did allow my mother to get something else, but it felt like we were being granted a huge favor. if I’m going to pay to eat out, i think liking the food would be important. a restaurant should care about customer satisfaction. i was surprised, usually the service is nicer. I’m torn between two and three stars, but am giving this place the benefit of the doubt for their good soups.

Definitely a favorite place while visiting Vashon. Outstanding staff; helpful and always pleasant. Coffee excellent; baked goods good but not outstanding — however HUGE so great for take-out to share. Food here is good, filling, interesting menu. Again HUGE portions which always means I take at least half with me. Definitely comfort food, both in texture and density. I’ve taken several people here with me(non vegetarian or vegan) & everyone loved the food so there you are. Definitely not a gourmet place but well suited to the Island.

The baked goods are delectable. The chai is perfectly spicy. I’m addicted to the house salad and its seasonal veggies. The portions are huge. The rooms are cozy in winter and there’s a nice outdoor space in summer. It’s kid friendly and friendly for dietary restrictions. The only thing I didn’t love was the falafel salad, but it’s my friend’s favorite, so there’s something for everyone!

I don’t understand the rave reviews. I ate here for lunch Thanksgiving weekend and it was subpar on all accounts. I ordered the Frittata of the Day, and it was more like the Frittata of Last week — it was rubbery and burnt and tasted off. The potatoes did not appear fresh either and the bread was ok, although I only got about a 1 mm pat of butter, which was not enough. The service stank too, I asked the server for a knife, he said he would get one, and then he disappeared and never came back. I went to the«utensil station» and they had an abundance of spoons, but no knives. The condiment bar was fully stocked with myriad hot sauces, but nothing else, not even ketchup. Reading the awesome review of the pastries, I ordered the cinnamon roll, a granola type bar and a chocolate cupcake and all three were mediocre to bad at best. As the server was scooping my granola type bar from the pan, a gentleman walked up behind me and said«I’ll take one of those too» and the server promptly gave him the bar she was about to give to me. I’ll echo Jenny S’s remark about the awkward seating as well. All in all, Vashon can keep this place to itself, I’ll never be back.

The breakfast dishes were overpriced and completely underwhelming. The pita chips on the mediterranian were hard as rocks. The tostada was swimming in weird sauces that hid the flavor of the egg and greens. The espresso was served nearly cold. The only reason to stop in is the pastry. And at these prices, please don’t ask me to bus my own table. We paid over 40 bucks for breakfast. That is nuts.

The vibe is a treasure. I almost don’t want to tell you. The cooking talent is unending. Fill up on lovingly prepared morsels for something affordable. Or spend a little more on a full plate that’s relatively simple but always quality, and often innovative. You aren’t made to feel like you have to leave. Inside feels like San Francisco. The backyard feels like Paris. Lost in a cozy wormhole at the center of Vashon, from perfectly baked goods to busing your table, the whole place mysteriously feels like home.

I can’t even with how good this place was. The first thing that impressed me was any coffee drink for $ 2. I ordered a soy latte. It was smooth and silky and perfection. I had an off menu breakfast special that was amazing. The eggs were done exactly right, the sweet potato was mouth watering. I ordered a chocolate croissant to go. Three dollars bought me the best croissant I’ve had in my life. The atmosphere here is fantastic. I was on a day trip to Vashon while staying in Tacoma to be with my very ill mom. Being able to take a morning and relax with a book in such a warm, welcoming space was everything to me. Next time I’m out that way, Snapdragon will be a priority for me to visit. I can’t wait for my wife to try it out! I know she’ll be just as thrilled as I was!

Happening to arrive at opening time, which happened to coincide with a mass of traffic disembarking from the Seattle ferry, I found a massive line and an air of excited anticipation from the crowd. Stepping inside the décor reeks(wrong adjective?) of good taste and the pastries are sitting on racks hot out of the oven. This is definitely a great atmosphere. My latte is really strong and flavourful. I’d walk a country mile for this, and the scone I ordered is fluffy and huge but most definitely a good scone in the American tradition. Highly recommended based on my one visit.

Food is so-so. Pastries are huge and look scrumptious, but tend to be dry. Atmosphere is fun, but the seating is awkward and crowded.

Snapdragon was everything I had imagined. Four women behind the counter and kitchen, drenched in both smiles and sweat, never missing a beat when a customer walked in and requested their newest treat in the rotating selection of baked goods. Heaping chocolate cupcakes, rhubarb cinnamon rolls, danishes decadently topped with local blackberries, peaches and a dollop of cream, no doubt from the creamery just down the way. Quickly asking for a recommendation, the dark haired woman pulled a danish from the tall wooden shelves and carefully placed it on a simple clay white plate. «This is my favorite,» she said. Taking my winnings to the back of the café I discovered an outdoor patio, where I put all of my attention into experiencing the soft flaky dough sprinkled in sugar and covered in natural fruit sweetness. Once finished, as any reasonable and diligent vacationer would have, I licked my fingers and promptly went back and ordered a second.

They advertise gluten-free options, but are not good about actually delivering GF food.

There were several bakeries and coffee shops that I had to pass up while traveling from the southend, that’s because people said that I had to try Snapdragon. It. Did. Not. Disappoint. Which was a blessing, because I was in no the mood for that! I had a hell of a time deciding between the local strawberry/marion berry twist and the roll, which the cashier confidently lead me towards the roll(her favorite). The staff was naturally friendly, the espresso was well crafted and later on in the day I stopped by for a local brew. Good stuff.

Superb food. I had the herb scramble which was just delightful. They prepare your food very quickly and with utmost friendliness.

My wife and I were visiting from out of town and came here for dinner our first night. The food was delightfully delicious. I had the pupusas and my wife had the feta salad. Both were remarkably tasty. I wish I could describe the pupusas, but I can’t. Suffice it to say they were full of flavor and extremely satisfying. We also had the French fries as an appetizer. Personally, I like my fries crisp, while these were a bit limp, but they were clearly fresh cut and were quite plentiful. In retrospect we really did not need them because our dinners were plenty. I also bought one of their decadent looking chocolate cupcakes for dessert and a blueberry scone for breakfast. There is another quality to this place we picked up on that is difficult to express. This was our first time to Vashon, and we immediately picked up on the hippie-esque vibe here. I mean that will all due respect and admiration. I feel an immediate affinity with communities like this. That said, this same vibe carries into Snapdragon. My wife and I were a bit road weary, so we didn’t linger, but I’m anxious to go back and soak in more of this lovely community.

We had dinner at Snapdragon a few weeks ago. We ordered humus plate and salad for appetizer and pizza for entrée. The appetizers and entrée were all served at the same time. The bell pepper humus was very good — the best humus I’ve ever had. The rest were just ok. We ordered cinnamon rolls to go and I have to say they are definitely one of the best I’ve had.

We visited last year which was great, but this time it was a HUGE disappointment! First we waited over 30 minutes eve though the restaurant was almost empty. The special Bahn me sandwich was Un eatable, the tofu was dry and not tasty, and everything was sinking in a spicy mustard… Horrible! The spring in Paris sandwich, again full with spicy mustard… With tired summer squash. The French toast, was swimming in overdue strawberry purée. It was a waste of money and time! I will it come back!

Best blueberry muffin I have ever had! I was here a couple weeks back and I had such a good experience. It was so good that I remembered to write this review. Our party had a bunch of stuff and everything was great. I was even given a free muffin to bring back to my lady in California. Excellent place.

I grew up in Marin County California in the 60’s and 70’s. This was the height of hippy, new age, crunchy granola culture. As a result I have a deepseated fear of vegetarian restaurants. In my mind it’s all wheat germ, and carrot juice. But after eating several delicious baked goods from them at the Vashon Farmers Market I was curious. It still took me 5 months after moving here to finally come in. But I’m glad I finally did. The initial setup is confusing. You order at the counter and then go sit. This is fine in theory, but it only takes a couple of fussy off-islanders to throw the whole thing off. I’ve been trapped in line a couple of times waiting for some terminally self-centered person finally decide what to eat. That aside, the coffee is good and the baked goods are probably the best on the island. They make a cheese thingy(it’s kind of like a cinammon roll but with savory cheese). They have a once a month curry dinner that I can’t wait to try.

Only an aspiring vegetarian, but love this joint — so grateful to have something of this quality close to home. Love to eat there; love to bring things home. Thank you for making it possible to skip so much cooking, with so much style.
