I want to give Kate in the Juniors department a big kuddos. She went above and beyond to help my girlfriend find several dresses for her upcoming events. We were just in here«window» shopping and came across a few good deals. Which lead to Kate helping and assisting in the successful purchase of 4 dresses and 1 shirt for me(hehe). Kate, I appreciate the customer service and diligence you provided us you made our upcoming crazy schedule that much easier. For that we greatly thank you.

DONOTORDERONLINEFROMTHISSTORE!!! I was in the make up department at Clinique. I wanted to buy a couple of items, but they didn’t have as many as i would like in stock. Then the lady that helped me suggested to order online from her computer. At first I thought it was fine, but the whole time this lady was helping me it was clear she had NOIDEA what she was doing. She couldn’t even hear anything… It was hard having to spell each letter really loud because the customers around us were just staring. As soon as she selected all of the items I needed online she told me the total. I offered to pay with cash so that way I can pick it up from the store when it arrives and she said that wouldn’t be possible. So I payed with my card. Within a week, they tried to take the payment out 3TIMES and the total was $ 131.88. The 1st time they rang each item as a separate transaction thinking I wouldn’t notice, the second time they told me that my payment had already gone through but the pending balance was just there in case I didn’t like what I had received in the mail. When I asked them why they took it out twice they told me that just happens all the time. The third time they tried to take out the same amount 3 times($ 395.64) i called immediately and got my money back from the bank but whenever I’d call Macy’s to inform them they kept giving me the same BS response about if I didn’t like the item? If I already paid for it why charge me again when I haven’t received any of my purchases?! The costumer service was BEYOND rude as well!

Heather helped me yesterday at the Estee Lauder counter and was absolutely wonderful. This is the best service I have had in a long time. She went the extra mile to help me find the right foundation color, and had the sweetest personality. As I left, she told me to come by if I ever needed any pampering! I am impressed with her thoughtfulness and professionalism. Made my day, actually! As a side note to Macy’s in general, I saw ads saying you were open on Thanksgiving. I just want to voice that I wish you would let your employees be home with their families that day. Anyhoo, thank you to Heather for being great at your job!

This store has finally lost me as a customer. I have given them chance after chance, but it just isn’t worth it. I have experienced long waits in every department due to minimal staffing, staff that have no idea what they are doing, downright rude service, lack of inventory and I’ve just had it. The last straw was driving all the way to Vancouver from NE Portland because the website said they had my product in stock to arriving and finding that they didn’t have it and really couldn’t have cared less. This has happened twice. Just a terribly run store.

I had some pretty heinous service at the Vancouver Macy’s Saturday. I had called the shoe department that morning to pull two pairs of boots for me to try on that afternoon but when I got there they had only pulled one. No big deal. So I asked the young blonde girl at the front who had grabbed the first pair if she would grab the other pair for me also. She disappeared to the back while I tried the first pair on but when she came out she was empty handed. I figured she must have asked someone else to grab them for me in the back as some stores keep stockers in the back for shoe runs, because she didn’t come over and say that she couldn’t locate them or anything. I waited. and waited. I figured she would atleast come over to ask me if the first pair had worked out or not, you know, basic customer service, but she was apparently too busy standing at the front counter chatting with the other two salespeople. Did I mention my friend and I were the only two people in the entire department? All three women stood at the front while I sat there feeling like an idiot waiting for my boots that apparently weren’t coming and receiving no service at all for the boots I had just tried on. I think the gal I had asked for help from got annoyed that I was sitting there staring at her(waiting for her to come over) and she traipsed off to do some floor organization on the other side. Finally, I got up and asked one of the other gals for help, interrupting their conversation apparently. «Oh, uh, I’ll tell you the rest when I’m done with her I guess…» I asked her to grab me the other boots, which she nicely brought out. She came over once to check, which was nice as there was a defect with one of the boots and I wanted her to grab me another pair. At this point customers decided to show up and the other two salespeople had disappeared, leaving the salesperson who was helping me now, alone to deal with the entire floor herself. I hate to say this because I like the shoe selection at Macy’s as well as the prices, but this would have never happened at Nordstrom. I would have not only received the basic service that I was lacking at Macy’s, but they would have gone above and beyond basic service to make sure that I left happy with my purchase. I left Macy’s empty handed, mostly because I was so annoyed with my lack of service and the time it took for the entire process. Nordstrom will be getting my boot business this time around.

Two hours before a cousin’s wedding, I was nominated to throw together a present from me, my dad, step mom, and brother. I approached an employee in kitchenware with an overwhelmingly lengthy wedding register, «Something practical for $ 50 or less?» She was knowledgeable of different brands and kitchen utensils, we put together a matching 3 piece baking set– mixing bowl, mixing spoons, and measuring spoons– from the Martha Stewart Collection. She also tried giving me a coupon discount from the current Macy’s ad, but the items were already on sale, and the coupon didn’t end up applying anyway. A bridal gift bag & tissue paper were offered, free of charge. The wedding registration computer is on the second floor, btw, in between kitchen and housewares. There is no sign, good luck finding it.
