They have saved my life. That’s all I can say. The Doctor’s here work fast and friendly to get you your life back. In May of 2015 I was diagnosed with cancer and compass was there for the whole step of the way. I am also only 24 years old, so I needed someone just to tell it straight and give me all the information I needed to live my life. I am so happy that I went here. If you have to hear those words telling you that you have cancer. Come here, because they are so helpful and caring. I will be spending the next 5 years coming to this same office. But, My life couldn’t be in better hands.

As we wind our way down the path of life we don’t like it when the road gets rough, but sometimes it does and there is no way around, you have to plow through straight ahead. When you’re young and you have your teen love affairs that end badly the roads a little choppy. College and early work life can make for a cobblestone street to navigate. A Divorce is a big dip in the road. Then sometimes you come across a gaping crater in the road that catches you out and rips a wheel off. That is cancer. One thing you cannot prepare enough for is when your Doctor comes in, closes the door and says, «It’s not good, you have cancer.» This is when you know who your friends are but better than that is resources. Compass Oncology is a friend and a resource all at the same time. Within moments of learning my diagnosis the Doctor hooked me up with Compass, and I was assigned a case worker, Amy. Amy saved my sanity because she had everything set up for me before the words could even sink in. She had the best surgeon set up for my situation, she had appointments scheduled, she handled insurance issues that came up. After my surgery when we felt somewhat cast adrift by the surgeon, she gave us a rudder and steered us to wound care. Amy is an angel, pure and simple. After all the cutting and the initial healing it was time to start seeing an Oncologist. Walking into an cancer center is a disturbing, unsettling and depressing situation. The front desk ladies at Compass make you feel right at ease and are amazing and helpful. The waiting room is huge, there are jigsaw puzzles and books and magazines, coffee and water and sucking candies. Every staff member I have run across has been upbeat and amazing. The Doctor I am seeing is very knowledgeable and helpful, he has a plan and we are confident about it. You cannot ask much more than that when the stakes are this high.
