I Come hear every Wednesday to eat $ 0.25 wings and they’re delicious. Don’t come around 11−2pm a waitress with short blonde hair & Black highlights will lie to you and say there is no free refills. She also stole our money for a bigger tip and apparently we didn’t pay enough money so we can no longer eat there. She’s a terrible waitress.

Decent food and drinks. Don’t use Touchtunes there though. The staff will skip it if they don’t like it. Waste your money.

Came here with a friend. They cut my friend off because I had too much. I am totally ok with being cut off. I have had too much, even though I am walking home. He, on the other hand, didn’t. 2 drinks. And cut off by association. And I didn’t even get mad when they cut me off, because I get it. For me. I’m even still at this place. I’m sorry, but if I’m too drunk, that doesn’t mean everyone else is. Especially if I tell them I understand and do not get mad. Shitty management.

Terrible service and the food was bland and cold, won’t go back, snotty bartenders. I went during the week around 930 in the evening. The best part was the free peanuts.

This is my bar of choice now. Newcastle and Guinness on tap and daily Happy Hour specials. Always a crowd of good people! Beer is served in several sizes from pints and 22oz talls to custom tapped pitchers that remain cold at your table. The food is better than average bar fare.

Honestly. The service sucks. Our server was annoyed to help us… It has a lame atmosphere & the crowd is ghetto. Michael is an arrogant asshole server! I will not ever go back & I understand why people want to dine & dash! I’m two seconds away from it! Take the time & spend the money & go to a classy place like main event or Farrar’s in felida!

I would like to express how disappointed I am with this establishment. Stopped in for lunch mid week, the place was not busy. After receiving our drinks, we could not get the waitress back to take our food order. She was more interested in talking with the the other employees, snacking on french fries, and just wandering around. We left after 30 minutes of this, We will not be back.

Menu has a ton of good bar food options, cold beer. I ordered the bbq chicken wrap and sweet potato fries. So many tvs, can see the game from anywhere in the bar. Bummed we weren’t allowed to play pull tabs during the game.

I don’t know what everyone is whining about. It’s a sports bar. It’s Loud on game days. That’s what it’s supposed to be! After getting tired of big als for east Vancouver sports bars, I decided to give Charlie’s a shot. From the outside I didn’t know what to expect. Inside is huge, and yes, tons of Tvs. I was able to get a table with my friend five minutes before kickoff which was a surprise. Big sports bar food menu, and tons of different beers. The staff was VERYFRIENDLYANDFAST, especially considering how busy it was. The bathrooms clean and nice, and they were even doing raffles. One complaint: the MC. If not for him, this would have been a five star review. And if the staff wasn’t as awesome as they were(if they were average) the MC would have made this a 3 star review. Besides being a typical Loud annoying MC with a mic that thinks everyone thinks he’s hilarious,(which is how most of them are so its expected) his foul mouth was offensive. «I don’t bring out your Fu — -ing prizes». Or «I don’t really give a Sh – «. When I asked him to curtail the colorful metaphors, he looked at me and said«what? You got kids here or something?» When I told him«no, your offending ME», he Replied with a semi sarcastic«I’ll try«. Fine. One can only ask. I’ll definitely go back though.

After hosting a corporate Christmas party here and frequenting Charlie’s for many other events we were so happy with the service and accommodations that we received from an unbelievable staff. With all that said unfortunately through employee turnover and a new GM we have come to find that the long time employees have begun to be treated as second rate and are starting to be pushed out. The service that we received that was so great has started to decline and become more of a your lucky to be served by us at all mentality. We will not be coming back after finding out how the owner has treated these employees and can guarantee if it doesn’t change the employees that we house at a very large business will make it a point to find a new place to call home. For years now we have had an unbelievable time at Charlie’s and are sad to find out that this is how he actually runs his business. This will be our last night and I encourage all people reading this to live on and frequent a place that treats their employees with respect and with a direct approach to reward the amazing service that everyone should be held to.

Good spot for some cheap drinks and clean, casual atmosphere. It looks like the place has been remodeled. The people I came with were previously patrons years ago and remembered it being much divey-er. It’s now got a sports bar feel w tons of TVs and graffiti theme on the walls(we could still smell paint which also made me believe the remodel must’ve been recent). Drinks are strong and the server was attentive although not the most enthusiastic. Bathrooms are clean(which is important to us females!). On a Friday night it was about 50% full but it’s a big bar. There’s a couple pool tables if that’s your thing. Juke box was playing lots of good 90s hits which I enjoyed– no dance floor/DJ. Overall, it’s a good spot to hang out and keep it low key.

Freindly staff. Plenty of tvs. And good selection of beer on tap. I went for the first time the other night and would definitely go again.

I don’t typically enjoy a mediocre review and often times when I feel like tearing apart the service and interior for the sake of possibly helping others, I don’t. Charlie’s is an interesting sports bar concept. We stopped in on a Monday night… Upon entering you’re smacked in the face and ears with an overly tin like sound that bounces off of the high ceilings and metal corrugated wall accents lined with overly cheap blue LED’s. Karaōke is a thing here on Mondays apparently so if you’re looking to catch sports highlights and enjoy some music, search elsewhere. The service was good enough however I swear you could read the anguish on some of the staffs faces as drunken early 20 something’s sang in good moods with their friends. The walls appear half airbrushed county fair style with kitschy sayings like; girls rule, men drool & you’re not short, you’re fun sized. The rest of any wall space is taken up by TV’s. I felt like I was in a sports bar built on the edge of the movie Gummo. Think, lots of tribal tattoos, bro-dawgs and haircuts with lines shaved in to them and heavy sequin rear pocket, embroidered jeans. The menu looked good with a lot of stuff to choose from but we didn’t eat. The interior is cold and department store bright. You’ll feel like you’re in a Spencer’s at the mall. We left after our drinks because of the sound from the Karaōke which by the time we exited reminded me of singing in my basement if I’d just invited over 10 friends and decorated with blue LED strip lights. I’m sure this establishment kills it on game days. Tons of seating inside and probably about 4000 sq. ft. of floor space. There was a patio about the size of a shoebox off the side of the building. Tons of beer taps with a club style liquor cabinet, so lots of flavored stuff to choose from. All and all the visit wasn’t terrible. Staff was friendly enough it was just an awkward interior with horrible sound. 2 stars for the sound and bright as heck lights guys. No one comes to a bar to feel like they are going shopping and how does anyone hear anything in here without sitting directly in front of a speaker? Also, if you’re going to airbrush sayings all over your walls, double check the spelling.

So I’ve been here many times. The food and service always good. Wednesday night however was different. My daughter and I came in about 8:00PM for some dinner. It was busy. About 15 – 20 minutes later I was finally able to get the attention of the waitress in our section. She brought us our drinks and quickly ran off. 2 guys sat at the table next to us. She quickly came over and took both food and drink order. At this point we’d waited 40 minutes and had only gotten soda despite wanting to order food. When she was done taking the order of the table next to us my daughter stood up and told her we’d like to order food as well. She acted as though we weren’t even there. We left our Dr Peppers on the table and went to another restaurant. I’m not sure what we did wrong to be so disrespected. I can’t see myself returning after that kind of treatment. Was a favorite place of mine to go. Unfortunate.

My friend and I went to Charlie’s for dinner and drinks last night. She’s been talking about this place forever so I finally broke down and decided to head over there with her. I ordered the fish tacos. The actual fish was pretty good but the guacamole didn’t taste good. Some of the guacomole was green and some of it was brown. I ordered 2 drinks and one of them had a dead fly in it. When I alerted the waitress she exchanged it for one that didn’t have a surprise in it and I appreciated that. When I got home I realized that I was overcharged on my bill. I should of paid more attention while I was there but I wanted to get the heck out of there. With everything I ordered I should of paid(according to their menu prices) $ 35 for the whole meal and for some reason when I got home I realized that I was charged $ 55 for the fish tacos, my friends mushroom burger with garlic tots, 2 pepsi’s, a cake shot and a tequila drink. The only reason why I didn’t go back and talk to them about my bill was because I lost the receipt somewhere between my table and the door when I was exiting the restaurant. Overall eating dinner at Charlie’s was a lousy experience and being overcharged wasn’t cool. Enjoy the extra $ 20.00 Charlies, I will tell everyone that your Restaurant sucks.

As a connoisseur(big word… wwoooo) and frequent customer of sports bars, I can verify that Charlie’s is probably the best damn sports bar in the entire Portland metropolitan area. Here are my lofty criteria for a great sports bar: a large assortment of good beer(from cheap to high-brow), large menu with high food turnover, TONS of TVs, every sporting event imaginable(Mayweather? Yes MMA? yes Lacrosse finals? Yes), staff that is simultaneously attentive and fun, patrons that are into sports and, as an extra, great attitude. Charlie’s excels in every important criteria… for that reason, it receives a coveted 5-star rating. Look for Michelle… one of the co-owners…striking blonde with the shirt that says«Drink up, bitches»…like I said, great attitude.

This is only an average bar. Has a generous interior that with graffiti spray art on the walls. Nothing to help absorb the loud noise, which is a constant issue. Wait staff is constantly changing, haven’t seen anyone make it 3 – 4 months without leaving, bad reflection for management cause it doesn’t feel the same if the staff is always changing. Food has improved and they have good Happy Hour specials. Great selection of local and regional micro’s along with the regular national beers. Strong assortment of liqueurs and knowledgeable bartenders.

I used to be a regular at Charlie’s. When my favorite bartender left, I stopped going as often because I wasn’t getting great service. I love the atmosphere. I keep trying to like it like I used to because the food is good, it is so close to my house, and there is a lot to do there, but I’m basically done with trying. I’ll continue to go there because of convenience, the $ 5 cab ride, and the good food, but I am not happy with the service I receive there anymore at all.

Pretty cool place. Has good atmosphere everything is modern and I like the space and lighting. Don’t let the weird plain warehouse look on the outside fool you. The walls are covered in stylized graffiti art. Not my thing but certainly not a deal breaker. We came for the shuffleboard table, there aren’t a lot of places with good tables in this area so wanted to give it a try. The table itself is a nice table, except it’s broken. The score is kept electronically however the blue points button is broken with wires hanging out of it. There are 2 control panels and the same button is broke on both. We found if you touch the wires together you can hotwire the score. We asked the waitress for some table salt and she said they didn’t have any so had to scoop some up from around the edges of the table. This is a real shame because the table itself is pretty nice. On the plus side they don’t charge for use of the table. As for the food and service. The food was surprisingly good. The fries appeared to be beer battered and were the best part of the meal. Also got the jalapeño burger which was also quite tasty. While our server was very nice the service was very slow. Took 15 minutes before they came over to get our order. Also after the food came only came by once and was there for almost 2 hours. Had to track someone down eventually in order to pay. Willing to give this place another chance, has a lot of promise. If they can fix the shuffleboard table and get some salt could easily see this becoming a regular hangout for my friends and I.

This place is awesome. Every time i have been to Charlie’s I have had a great experience. Whats not to like? Great staff, TVs everywhere, happy hour, events, game day raffles, and 40 beers on tap. This place brings in a great crowd of all ages. Its the perfect place place to meet up with friends to catch any game, celebrate a event or just kick it on the weekends. They offer game day and daily specials. My personal favorite is the 100oz beer tour because its easy to split among lots of friends and its a great deal. If you’re not a drinker they still have food specials available. After the games are over its still fun to stick around and play music on the juke box and shoot some pool, darts or shuffle board. Not only do they have a nice selection of beers & cocktails but the food menu is also not limited. Salads, Soups, Burgers, Pizza, Pasta, Sandwiches, Tacos and much more. The tot-chos should be on everyones bucket list. Nachos but made with tator tots! Took me a minute to wrap my head around the idea but after i tried them i completely understand why everyone raves about them. Delish! I highly recommend you give it a shot and stop in to check it out.

After a terrible experience at this sports bar, the management invited me to give them another try. So I did; this time my friends and I were treated even more badly: According to the shift manager, the bar owner called the manager on duty and had them switch all of the football screens from Thursday Night NFL to the NCAA game early in the third quarter of the Packers/Vikings game. For a half hour, the NFL fans complained. The wait staff told us that they did not know how to switch some of the screens back to the NFL game. My friends and I decided to go to another bar to finish watching the game. I asked to for our bills and requested that they be adjusted. The waitress deferred to another waitress, deferred me to a bartender. I asked to speak with the manager. I was introduced to a couple of staff who were clearly not management. Eventually I was told they would see if the manager would speak to me. I waited in front of the managers office door. A steady stream of servers came in and out of the office. Finally a bleach blond wearing large dark sunglasses came out just as the game was restored.(She looked like the very same, very drunk employee that I commented about in an earlier review.) Her name is Michelle. I told her that since our evening was ruined when they turned the game off, we wanted to leave and I asked for a discount. She proceeded to tell me three lies: First– that the game was only off for a couple of minutes(someone had finally put the game back on just as Michelle left her office, halfway through the fourth quarter.) Second– she said that they don’t know how to control all of the screens, so they couldn’t put the game back on some of the screens(even though at this point, they had!). Third– that she was wearing dark sunglasses at night because they were prescription. They weren’t. Michelle said that she would have adjusted our bills, but since we made an issue of the bill, she wouldn’t. Michelle said that since the game was a shut-out, missing it is no big deal. She claimed that she was watching the bar from monitors in her home and knew everything that goes on when she’s not there.(?) I paid my bill and went back to my table to get my purse. One of her staff followed me, shook her Samsung phone at me and said that I had 10 seconds to leave. I grabbed my purse and headed for the door as she YELLED at my retreating back, «F*ck you!» And, «You need to join Weight Watchers». Classy.
