Just moved to Urbanna and this is one of the only places open on Tuesday night. My dad and I stopped in around 7:00 and we were the only two in the restaurant. That being said, the service was fine and the food was actually quite good for a small town pizza joint. I had a meatball sub and my dad had a hamburger and we were both pretty quiet during the meal, so you can tell the quality was great. My sub was almost baked into a little loaf of Italian bread, with the cheese melted right on top. The extra crunch added a little something extra to this otherwise normal dish. Though a bit dilapidated and small, that’s pretty much what this town is. If you’re just passing through, I’d say pass, but if your a local like me this is pretty much all you’ve got.

Pizza was eh… pretty mediocre. Shells were not good in my opinion but my fiancé said they were OK. I’m the Italian though. Either way our to-go order only came with 3 small shells. Meh.

One thing you notice growing up on the NNK /MP area is that EVERY — and I mean pretty much EVERY — small town has their own pizza joint. And for Urbanna, that place is Colonial Pizza. I’ve eaten here many times as a youth when visiting my aunt in her condo in Urbanna. So when we stayed there last summer, and again this summer, I had no problem suggesting Colonial Pizza when we needed a bite to eat on a whim. After returning from a Father’s Day cookout with my family in Reedville a few weeks back, we noticed they were open and stopped on a whim.(Let’s face it, steamed crabs never gets you full for long, and with all the beers we had earlier in the day, we NEEDED pizza.) The pizza was excellent … although as drunk as I was, I would have thought a Tostino’s pizza was amazing. But seriously, the pizza is good, and I have gotten their subs many times in the past and they are on par with other NNK-area pizza joints. The interior is also much like other NNK-area pizza joints — very dated, lots of wood paneling, rather sterile. Yes, it is typically the older locals who actually go out and dine in at a place like Colonial Pizza. So unless you’re looking for a very quiet, sterile, and unremarkable dining out experience, just order out, pick it up, and take it home. And enjoy … because the pizza and subs are pretty good.

Food is OK. Nothing fancy, the only thing going for this place… it’s the only pizza place in town. The owner is obnoxious. Just because he’s Greek doesn’t mean he needs to hate everyone with his«better than you» attitude. Staff is friendly, The owner needs to take his sorry butt back to Greece and lighten up so folks can enjoy their visit. Family of four and $ 80 later you’d think you’d get a smile and even maybe a «Thank You!»

This place is accessible by boat and we were starving and on a boat. You walk in, and the first thing you notice is that most everyone in the place is over 60 years old and obese. The next thing you notice is that everyone has heaping plates of spaghetti covered in mozzarella cheese. I got one of those baked spaghetti dishes, and it was pretty damn satisfying. On the other hand, it made me have to go to sleep immediately. Everyone else was happy with their sandwiches, and the bill was pretty cheap(my two meals worth of baked spaghetti ran 10 bucks or so). Unfortunately, the old folks’ home atmosphere was pretty disturbing. If this place had a bar, it’d be charming, but we really did not enjoy our time being in this place. Service was good, at least.
