Ordered a pizza for delivery. Astonishingly undercooked. Next time I will drive to Sunnysides. Better pizza.

The pizza and soft serve frozen yogurt are the best in the area. They fried foods are tasty as well. I like that they deliver to Tuxedo too. They have a rather large menu for a small take out window. Only thing I didn’t like is there hours.

Decent pizza, surprisingly good salads, nice soups. More than just an Ice Cream and Frozen Yogurt joint.

I had the best soft serve ice cream in my life here! I’m used to soft serve from McDonald’s or dairy queen but this was so much better! It’s hard to describe but it’s almost fluffy compared to the stuff we have in Houston. The staff was also very friendly. I spoke to the owner and he was a really nice guy. When he bought the existing business seven years ago they added some items to the menu so that they could stay open year round rather than just being a warn weather ice cream spot. I hope to try more of their menu before leaving back to Houston.

I visited this place once when I was coming from a friends house and we stopped to get dinner. I fell in love with their pizza and ice cream! The pizza was so cheesy and delicious and my oh my do I love soft ice cream. Just being there once was absolutely enough. I plan on going back.

Hands down the worst service. The girl at the front was nice enough but the wait was RIDICULOUS. We ordered simple food– grilled cheese and fries. No one else was there so I assumed it would be fast since no other orders were coming in. After patiently waiting for half an hour I asked where the food was and they had just put it on the grill. The food may have been good but not over a 30 minute wait good(especially when no one was there)! This was my first and last try. What a disappointment.

Stopped by twice this summer and I don’t know if it was everyone’s first day but both occasions they got my order wrong which is pretty sad because this is ice cream, should be pretty simple stuff and they even wrote the order down, even worse. the ice cream is good but staff needs some training and portions were pretty sad for the high price. have to go out of town for ice cream from now on

This is our family’s favorite spot. Fantastic pizza and even better people. The owners are the best and all the food is fresh and delicious. Great Gluten free selection, our favorites are the pizza and wraps. They even have gluten free sugar cones! They also deliver, which is dangerous to my waistline! If you are up this way, it is a fun and tasty family spot.

To the beauty behind the counter, with the burnt elbow. Although I stop here often for ice cream, I’m really not stopping for the ice cream! Want to join me for a hike? Answer me back.

If you happen to find yourself in the country sometime, eschewing the Thruway and roaming up the old Rt. 17 toward the Catskills, this is the place to stop if you want to get a bite to eat. The food is freshly made, the people behind the counter are pleasant, and there is an indoor seating area. It is definitely a great alternative to the simply horrible rest stop on the Thruway. Hey, it’s not the Ritz, but the food is good, and if you ask nicely they let you use the bathroom. It is, surprisingly, open all year round. So if you are on the way to a ski area upstate, and aren’t in a hurry, stop on by.

Good soft serve with many different varieties available. I liked the pistachio and coconut soft serve. Their pizza is unexpectedly great. I say unexpectedly because I wouldn’t think an ice cream place would make such good pizza. One of the best locally. There are many more menu items available as well. Another bonus is they deliver and are open year round. Every other ice cream shop around here closes for the winter. Nice that you can get ice cream when you have that craving, even if it is freezing outside. Plus, with their wood burning stove and indoor seating, it’s fine!

Are you tired of the boring vanilla and chocolate soft-serve flavor options at your local ice cream place? If you answered«Yes» then you need to visit Take A Break as soon as humanly possible. This gem offers 20+ varieties of soft-serve flavors, ranging from apricot to pistachio to espresso to lemon(LEMON!). You choose your flavor and they customize your soft-serve for you. Well, slap me and call me Shirley! Jazzo went with butterscotch and I went with cheesecake. Phenomenal. They have a ton of hard ice cream flavors as well. The girls working there were so sweet… they seemed happy to be there(I was pretty damn happy to be there also)! Prices were reasonable and Take A Break is only a few short miles away from Ramsey… well worth the trip. Take A Break is very old-school and it even has an indoor seating area with picnic tables, complete with a pot-belly stove. Not necessary in summer months but it was 36 degrees last night so we were thankful for the warmth. Winter, will you EVER get the hell out of here??? Take A Break is reason alone for me to move to Orange County. No, I am not kidding.

This is a great place to stop at on route 17! They have a large variety of non-fat and regular ice cream. Nice and old fashioned. Go here!

Total Rip-Off, Should be called Give Me a Break. The ice cream was mediocre but the quantity they give is absolutely insulting. Take A Break’s medium cup is the same size of a Small at all the other neighboring ice cream shops such as Wallys, or Mr. Cone. Additionally even though Take A Break’s medium cup is much smaller they only partially fill the cup half way so the tip of the ice cream peaks over the rim. The small cup at Take A Break is a junior cup everywhere else and once again is half filled or less. Literally enough to give you 5 spoons of ice cream. Take A Break’s cost is about 25% less compared to same medium and small at the other neighboring ice cream shops however, they only give you half of the ice cream. So at Take A Break… Less is truly More
