This place is pretty solid for banh mi and Vietnamese snacks. Their bread is warm and soft, and the stuffing has the right balance of flavors from sweet, sour, spicy, and salty. It’s pretty filling too, perfect for lunch! I also really like their pâté chaud, especially when it’s fresh.

This place was a great find for the area. The iced coffee is on point, while a large is a little less than $ 5. it probably has the equivalents of 6 shots of espresso; it turns out to be a pretty good deal. The sandwich was very good, I had the number 2 which was a pork bahn mi, also one of the 3 featured bahn mis. If you like bacon, that’s my recommendation. The place was generally clean and up to date; this isn’t a hole in the wall. I very much look forward to returning and trying the rest of the menu. The location of the Tustin store is very convenient, but if I found myself in the Little Saigon area I’d likely try something else.

I have been here several times, mostly in the mornings before work. I found this place because it is open early and was on my way to work. I wanted to find a place that had Vietnamese coffee and I was tired of donut places at the time too. I normally get lunch and breakfast there to go. I had their fried meat bun which is super delicious, their spring rolls are also fresh and tasty. I have also gotten their chicken porridge which I really like and would get again.

This sandwich shop is really clean, has nice décor, and prepares sandwiches in front of you as you wait for your number to be called. I went with the Banh Mi Dac Biet and a Banh Bao. House Special Sandwich: 4.5÷5 — Fresh baked bread and fresh ingredients. The thit nguoi slices(ham) were fatty and delicious, but the sandwich tasted really light. It looked huge, but didn’t fill me up. My only complaint about the sandwich was they were really skimpy on the bo(mayo) and pâté, my favorite part of Viet sandwiches. Steamed Pork Bun: 4.5÷5 — The ground pork in the bao has excellent flavor. It was salty and delicious. It was given to me cold(even during lunch hour), so you have to throw it in the microwave when you get a chance. I appreciate all sandwich stores that bake their own bread. It always taste fresh and lasts longer if you don’t eat it the same day.

On the days that I am craving a sandwich or some other Viet quick eats, and do not have the time to venture into Little Saigon, I come to THH. In the last few times I visited this place I’ve tried: Dac Biet Bahn Mi, Xi Mai Buhn Mi, Thit Noung Bahn Mi, egg rolls, and Nam Noung spring rolls. The baguettes used for the sandwiches are pretty good. At first bite I could tell that the bread was done right. –And if you know anything about fresh bread of any kind you will understand what I am talking about and if you don’t then«I feel bad for you son! I got 99 problems but eating a fresh baguette is not one of them!» My two complaints are: I feel like the prices for the sandwiches are high and the spring rolls can do without the shredded pickled carrots n daikon. The Goi Coun and Nam Noung coun are fine without the extras I mentioned earlier. Over all, THH is good, but it is not the first place that pops into my head when I want a sandwich.

I normally order soup when I go to a Vietnamese restaurant, and this place changed my perspective about Vietnamese food in general. For me, sandwiches are snack food and doesn’t replace my hunger for a big meal. But coming to this place made me realize that there is more to a Vietnamese restaurant than eating phở. My other qualms about sandwiches is that I don’t care much about bbq pork or the beef sandwiches and most sandwich places use dark meat with their chicken sandwich. But this place is the bomb. Not only they have chicken breast sandwiches, but the have other goodies like cassava cake, Vietnamese egg rolls. I tried the cake looking green pandan, and it was soooooooo gooood. I definitely recommend this place, and will come back again if I’m around the area.

Quick and cheap! Tan Hoang Huong, also nicknamed THH, is a Vietnamese sandwich and coffee shop. There are multiple locations in Orange County, but this one is located 14081 Newport Avenue in Tustin, right off the 5 freeway in a crowded little strip mall. THH is known for their inexpensive Banh Mi sandwiches, but they also have other popular Vietnamese food items such as hot and cold noodles, spring rolls, and rice dishes. My coworkers and I needed something quick(and cheap) so we came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. We arrived early at 11:30, as we wanted to dine in, and this location has but a handful of tables and counter space. As soon as we ordered, we grabbed the last table for 4, and the line to order formed out the door. My coworkers wanted hot noodles and had the Bun Rieu, a crab noodle soup. I ordered a bun, which is a cold vermicelli noodle topped with grilled pork and eggrolls. Both noodle dishes were under $ 6. It may not be the best Vietnamese food we’ve had, but it did the job in filling us up, and the bill for the 3 of us was under $ 20… which is definitely cheap eats!

CHEAP&DELICIOUSBANHMI Move over Le’s! This is the best spot to get banh mi’s for less than $ 4 in the lower OC area. This is a popular lunch spot or a perfect snack. No need to drive all the way to Westminster! + GRILLEDPORKBANHMI($ 3.25): The pork was super flavorful and was almost a little bit sweet! The baguettes are freshly baked, which make the bread crunchy but soft. This is totally a deal breaker because other banh mi’s are hard to bite into and tend to cut the roof of your mouth. + BEEFBANHMI($ 3.25): This is a less flavorful meat for those who like more plain meat. However, the meat is cooked really well and not dry! This is also less salty compared to the pork. + PORKPATECHAUD($ 0.65): This is ground pork(in softer meatball form) baked into a puff pastry. It is soft, flaky, buttery, and a great treat! ~ PORKSPRINGROLLS($ 3.25): For three spring rolls, the price is really good. However, since these are pre-made and available at the cashier register, the roll tends to get hard around the edges. It is a good way to get your spring rolls fix if you want to grab one quickly to-go. For the price, the quality here is really great. My family of 5 people ate here for less than $ 20! That is insane. I was full off half of a banh mi while my family finished a whole sandwich themselves.

Love this place. My in-laws from Milpitas says the food here tastes even better than in the Bay Area. Very clean and very good service! We order everything there. We highly recommend: 1. Avocado smoothie 2. Banh mi — grilled pork and combo are both well made 3. Fish porridge! Huge piece of fish with yummy rice and ginger 4. Beef stew!!! Tomato base with big juicy pieces of meat and dip with baguette 5. Pork puff pastry!!!(Patê chaud) so yummy and fresh — but they run out! 6. Vietnamese ice coffee! So strong. Can’t go wrong Love this place!

I am not an expert on Vietnamese cuisine, but this place has caught my eye since I traveled to Australia and couldn’t get enough of the authentic Vietnamese restaurants there. I stopped for a quick lunch, and it was just that– quick. Great service and food was done in no time. I had the shredded chicken sandwich with a pork egg roll and iced coffee. The egg roll was phenomenal, and the sandwich was ok compared to what Australia had to offer(not a fair comparison, but hey… that’s all I’ve got!). I’ll definitely be back for the iced coffee. Very fair pricing, too. I was out the door having spent less than 8 bucks.

If you don’t have the time to head to Little Saigon then Tan Hoang is the place to go. I come here often because I know that I can get my bun rieu fix at 8 a. m if I need it. And I often do. Their bun rieu is good, not great, but it does the job, their chicken phở is the best i’ve had out of a plastic bowl and their bahn mi and viet coffee is the main reason people come. I wish they wouldn’t add MSG in their chicken phở. Its tolerable though. You know how when you sit in Starbucks you see people float through for their coffee and scone all morning? Well this place is the same but its 99% Asian(mostly Viet) and they are getting something way better than a coffee and scone; they are getting a Vietnamese Coffee and a Bahn Mi!

I’m not sure why it took me so long to find out that I had an authentic Vietnamese place right across from my house(I’ve only been in the neighborhood for a month), but I’m so very glad I finally stumbled upon this place! The décor and overall look of the place is very nice. The workers are fast at what they do and the food they produce is pretty much how you would find it at any other Vietnamese place. The one thing I did like about this place over others was their prices! Sandwiches are 3.65−3.95, which isn’t bad at all, but what surprised me was that the rest of their menus were also very affordable!

Came here for a quick lunch unsure really what this place was about. They had tons of fresh spring rolls right at the counter so I grabbed one that was a mixed set(shrimp, Vietnamese sausage and one other). It was relatively inexpensive and it’s a $ 5.00 minimum for credit/debit cards so I also had an iced tea. They have tons of different teas that all sounded amazing. The spring rolls were good, but not all that exciting, the peanut sauce was delish, but I make much better spring rolls at home. Still, the service here was friendly they have lots of other things to try on the menu and it’s quick and inexpensive so I will probably be back at some point or another.

Grilled pork. Oh yes OHYUM. $ 3.65 for a grilled pork banh mi(sorry to all the vietnamese folk or anyone else who may be offended– might have spelled it wrong) and it was delish. It’s WARM, mostly moist, flavorful, has all the necessary garnishings(cilantro, radish, carrots, jalapenos). I love it. I really do. And it only takes about 5 minutes to make. Their bread is not hard, it crunches really nicely when you sink your teeth into it. They also offer spring rolls: DDD(which I totally need to get) This is on Newport Ave JUST south of the 5 freeway. I got lost in a couple of plazas before finding it, which was my bad as I didn’t plan: P Huge plus? Open at 5am. Wow. I don’t know if they make the grilled pork, but they do have morning breakfast options as well~ Try it out!

Finally a banh mi sandwich/food to-go shop closer to home. This location has mostly all the typical food-to-go fare you would expect from the many to choose from in OC. The only thing they don’t carry is che(Vietnamese dessert). Which is ok, but it would have hit 5 stars in my book if they did. The banh mi here is exceptional. The bread is flaky and chewy. Beautiful combo for banh mi — the bread has to be just right. They take their time putting this masterpiece together, an even amount of the julienned pickled veggies, jalapeño slices, cucumber & cilantro. If you like egg on top of your sandwich, go for it. Perfectly cooked egg with crispy edges with a hint of saltiness on top of a bed of Bbq pork is my go to. My 1 yr old loves the pork bun(our whole family does actually). The outside is perfection. Golden flaky crispy-ness to reveal an abundance of warm delicious pork filling. The pork bun here is #1. They’ve got the recipe down with this one. Another fav for me is their Café Sua Da. Vietnamese coffee. I love my coffee. They make it nice and strong. It completes the trip here — it does not disappoint.

Came here for quick pick-me-up and grabbed a Vietnamese iced coffee and sausage spring rolls. The pro about this place is that they accept card(with a minimum) and service is quite quick here. The prices are reasonable and the employees are approachable. The con is that the Vietnamese iced coffee actually made me sleepy instead of alert — weird huh ?! The spring rolls had mint in it which I am not a fan off. Each bite had mint which some may appreciate, but just wasn’t my taste. It was edible and good, but it would of been great without the mint. This is comparable to Lees Sandwich so when you’re craving it and don’t want to drive to the Lake Forest location or too lazy to drive to Westminster/Garden Grove then this place will do.

For a Vietnamese food to go place, is pretty awesome! Why can’t something like this be in SD? All the good Vietnamese food are in OC. They have all kinds from soup noodles, sandwiches, pre-made package food to egg rolls and tapioca drinks. Let’s just say it’s a classier Banh Mi Che Cali. You can tell because it’s bigger and looks cleaner. They must be doing well to close very early daily too. This is what we ordered: –Eggrolls –Bun Rieu –Bun Thit Nuong –Banh Mi The egg rolls are about 65 cent each and they pack it with meat. I wish they had the white rice paper option too. The bun rieu was pretty good except the fact that they only give you one small chunk of crab/egg quiche. Great flavors and plenty of soup and noodles. The bun Thit nuong was about $ 6 and good but too much fat on the pork meat. Also they seasoned it with the red stuff so it’s the red pork meat one. The Banh mi itself was good too. Decent size! Prices are great and food is good and plentiful.

I love this place! I wouldn’t say it’s the most traditional banh mi sandwich shop, but it sure is tasty! The price is good too! Less than $ 4 for a ~12in sandwich. I always get the shredded chicken banh mi. I’m very particular about chicken and this never has any skin or fat mixed in with it. The bread is nice and crunchy on the outside but still soft on the inside. They open at 5AM which is a bit too early(for me) for a sandwich or some of the other dishes they offer(vermicelli, spring rolls, etc) but it’s the perfect time for Vietnamese iced coffee or tea!

THH opened in a good location! No competition around. Prices are very fair, portions are good, tastes better than Lee’s! Grilled pork banh mi was very good. The pork was juicy & flavorful, bread was fresh — I could smell/taste the butter. Grilled pork vermicelli w/egg roll — the pork in this was very dry. I guess they don’t use the same grilled pork as the banh mi. Egg rolls were good tho! They open at 5am daily. A good option to pick up a quick meal. It’s more of a fast food type of place — order at the counter and pick up at another window.
