Worst experience ever. Don’t get a salad. Even the waiter didn’t recommend it and ignored our question«how’s the salad?» It gave me food poisoning. Started off with the reservation system. Made a reservation at 6:30, promptly arrived on time and our table wasn’t ready but the establishment wasn’t packed – maybe 1⁄3 capacity. So we waited for 10 minutes before they set us up with our table. Our waiter wasn’t attentive and food service took a loooong time. Waited 40 minutes and managed to have 3 sets of chips with our salsa while waiting. Waiter also messed up our food order – though he fixed it, it took an additional 10 minutes. Arroz con pollo was fine – didn’t get tortillas as listed in the menu but we were already fed up and too hungry. Mom ordered the Chicken Avocado Strawberry salad and the chicken tastes undercook and parboiled. She ended up not eating it, I had a bite and it was the worst mistake ever. In the evening I had food poisoning and a terrible time. My husband and the rest of my family had stomach aches but I was the only one to suffer the most because of the chicken. Never going back here again.

I ordered Mexican Paella. It is supposed to contain shrimp, lobster, muscles, pork, chicken breast, chorizo, and jalapeños. Instead it was tons of shrimp, 4 tiny muscles, 2 pieces of something that looked and tasted like scallop– perhaps that was the lobster. I asked for chorizo and they brought me about 2 table spoons. The peppers were bell peppers not jalapeños. I never did get any chicken or pork. They did comp the meal after I spoke with a manager and gave us a coupon for a free appetizer which was very nice. I gave the waiter a very good tip as it was not his fault.

I ordered the shrimp and fish tacos. It was ok. The foods are in small portion. Price is WAY too expensive for the amount of foods they served.

Having been to the original Guadalajara, this was a massive let down. The service was inattentive, food was bland, and prices were higher. Tucson has better Mexican places. Much better.

The seafood molcajete is off the chain, but HOT(temperature) as hell. First time here but if all the waiters are as nice, professional as Eddie our next vist should be just as good. Thx

Meh, it’s alright. The food is okay. I’ve found that usually I don’t have a lot that actually looks good to me on their menu so I always order the same thing, which usually tastes just average and is somewhat bland. Also in this location the servers and waitresses only wear black outfits – not the pretty outfits the salsa people wear at their other location. I really miss that touch. Only really good thing about this place is their convenient Central location.

Guadalajara Mexican Grill on Broadway seems to have worked out its kinks. We stopped in table-leg-chewing hangry after a long mountain hike, and were rewarded with sweetly-burning tableside salsa, creamy calabacitas enchiladas, fat guaco tacos and fresh chunky guacamole. The Cadillac margaritas are among the best in town, generous and properly golden from Grand Marnier. The chips here are storied affairs — thick, crispy and warm. Paco, our excellent server, was quick to provide refills. We departed fully satisfied after a spontaneous salsa contest on the patio.

First time in this one. Of course they were packed for Cinco De Mayo, but, my Fiancé’ was smart & made a reservation online :) No wait whatsoever! Our server, William, was excellent! He was very on top of things! Friendly & efficient. Only little snag was some confusion on the promotion they were running for tonight only. It sd online to come in & spend at least $ 25& you’ll get a $ 5 gift card twrds your next visit. Well, the waiter asked someone abt it & he said they told him it was only twrds the special app menu. So, we asked again at the end of the meal, and this time he asked the manager on duty, Franciso i think his name was. He quickly rectified the situation by clarifying that it was in fact $ 25 on Any menu items. So we got the gift card :) Very awesome service & great food! Will definitely be back sometime soon! Ask to be seated in Williams section if u go, he was awesome!!! :)

It’s better than any Garcias and slightly better than Macayos located in Phx, AZ. That being said if you looking for a basic Mexican Restaurant/Bar you found it. The food was above average. We had the fajitas, guacamole dip, mini chimis, and the manchegoes. the fajitas were cooked perfectly, however the beans and rice were less than adequate, too dry. Eddie our server was really what helped the experience out. My girlfriend has a severe allergy to gluten and Eddie made sure her food and any food we inquired about was safe for her. Massive props to him for making the place seem welcoming. This was one case were the service helped the food experience out That being said the best dish was the guacamole dip, it had a unique take on it and I’d recommend people try it out. Overall the food was average three star but the service boosted it to four star status. I would stop by again if this type of service continues.

Food was good, but the service was awful. Our waiter literally had zero idea how to serve. He didn’t know the menu or the drinks. Plus spoke very broken English, which made it very hard to communicate. At least the food was good and the homemade salsa

Went for lunch with a few colleagues to this place, as it was recommended to us by someone local. The ambiance was very nice and very ethnic, so was surprised as to why this place had a low rating. Ordered the food with an open mind and decided to give this place a try. I ordered the Pollo en Mole(Mole Chicken) as I am a big fan of the mole sauce. The food took some time to come and we had to ask the server to help expedite the food as we had to get back to work. When it came, the food was fine but nothing exceptional. I have had better mole sauce in the northeast and especially given the abundance of good Mexican places in Tucson I think you have alot of good options to go to.

I .went here yesterday with my dad for the first time, since I love Mexican food and like to try the various places in Tucson that serve it. Let me just say it was not good at all. My food tasted and smelled off and I just couldn’t eat it. I had ordered chicken tacos. My dad ordered a carne asada burro, when he got it he said it was cold. The waiter claimed it was because the guacamole was cold. So my dad had him take it back and bring another… it was still only«warm» but not hot. Then today I get a text from my dad saying he was throwing up all day and he thinks it’s from the food. I’m really glad I only ate a few bites because being sick scares me to death. Needless to say we won’t be going back

Yuck! Watered down salsa with broken chips to start. I ordered the fish tacos which were described as having a cream sauce. I just had DRY fish with lettuce and cheese. Had to use some watery salsa to get it down which made the fish tacos soggy. Have not seen my waiter to complain. When I asked for sugar for my ice tea before the food, he gave me a used sugar caddie with torn up packets… nice. He’s obviously busy on a cigarette break or in his other ONE table, cuz there is like NOONE in here! Guess everyone else knows this place SUCKS! $ 14.95 for dry fish tacos! I’ve had better fish tacos in Gillette Wyoming!!! Oh I forgot to mention the rice… which was very plain and tasted like Uncle Ben’s instant rice! I was expecting Spanish rice with at least a little bit of chili powder! She said oh no Guadalajara won’t do!!! (Thank you Steely Dan)

Terrible service at the bar, salsa girl was cool but the bartenders were too busy talking to do anything else, I even involved the manager and he dropped the ball.

I live out of town but love coming to this restaurant. My family and I ate at this establishment on Valentines Day. I found that the service and food was exceptional thus leaving a greater than 35% tip in cash. I paid for the bill with my debt card. I look at my bank statement today and additional money’s was taken out of my acct. Upon noticing the addition, I attempted to contact the manager to resolve the issue, only to get the run around. I find this very unfortunate. A place with such high praise and volume of customers to do something so, for a lack of a better term, shady is not cool. For future customers beware of paying with a card. If so, look at your statement. Pay cash only!!!

Half decent Mexican food with outrageously terrible service. Arrived on a Sunday with seven people and squeezed into a booth way too small. Then our waiter was so bad we should have left. 20 minutes just for waters, and then over an hour for our food. We requested things and he could only seem to remember part of the request(i.e. More napkins and more chips resulted in only napkins). He rarely checked in on us and when the order arrived(over an hour later), it wasn’t correct and clearly had been sitting out too long as was cold and sauce had congealed consistency. The only highlight is the table side salsa was we really enjoyed. But otherwise I was very disappointed.

There is better Mexican in Tucson. This place is kind of circus fun, loud and bright… but the animals don’t seem real happy. Staff could use a injection of enthusiasm. We tried a bunch of stuff, the salsa lady looked bored and the salsa reflected it. Guacamole was ok as was the quesadilla and taco platter. Margs were too sweet and not much tequila. They need to strip the name away and go back to what made them great in the beginning. Good parking though.

The portions got alot smaller, the service was horrible due to our drinks not being filled at all. I was even done with my appetizer and the waitress tried picking it up and taking it away. I ordered the Mexican Paella and it runs $ 19 a plate. The original location charged roughly the same price and it was almost twice as much food. Normally I share this plate but was way too small to even consider. It was loaded with salt and chorizo and I couldn’t tell if there was lobster in it or not. The waitress also brought out my sister’s plate and it had Guacamole which she notified her she was highly allergic to it when she ordered it. No apologies or anything. Also the first salsa is free but now if you want more salsa, it cost $ 7.95 a bowl! What mexican restaraunt charges for salsa? I remember what Guadalajara Grill used to be but now I will no longer be a customer or recommend this place.

I’d like to start off by saying, I really don’t understand why the reviews here are so low… But I had a great experience! I don’t usually go to Guadalajara Grill for dinner because I just can’t eat that much. We went for Happy Hour for half price drinks and appetizers. It turns out the table-side salsa cart costs extra now, but the salsa they have prepared really good, too! Overall, this is a great place for happy hour :) Quest Fundido is usually really good and the guacamole was spectacular. We’ve had the quesadilla app before and it’s HUGE. I didn’t notice a mariachi band at this location, but I didn’t miss it. I think this is a good melding of the two other Guadalajara locations’ styles.

So, look, here’s the thing about this place. It’s not authentico. In fact, it’s authenticNO(patent pending). It’s super gringo, where you take your family from the Midwest to eat because you think they are not up for real Mexican food or will otherwise embarrass you at an establishment that you actually want to eat at. The food isn’t awful. It’s not incredible, either. One reviewer got it right when he reviewed the one on Prince when he said, basically, that it’s like Denny’s, Disneyland and Guadalajara threw up. We started with the table side salsa. It’s gimmicky, it’s fun to watch, it’s a thing that they painted on the side of their new building. The thing about good salsa, though, is that the flavors need time to meld together. If you want it to taste deliciouso, you need to give it at least a couple of hours to sit and start a party. The cilantro needs to flirt with the tomatoes, who need to complain about their job to the onions, who will, in turn, hit on the cilantro. Forcing them all into one bowl at one time and rushing it all makes for a no bueno salsa. So, while it’s fun to watch the nice woman mix it all together at your table, it’s simply doesn’t have enough time to sit. Also, they charge $ 7 for refills. That seems a little steep for a bowl of salsa, but whatever. I got the Burrito Chilanga. Again, it was fine. It was served with a side salad that automatically came with ranch dressing(see…muy gringo). It’s the vegetarian burrito, and it’s good. Like, if I were to go back, I would probably get this. I will say this, it had a lot of sour cream in it. Like, way too much. Way too much for me, anyway, though I am a girl that loves her sour cream. It overpowered a lot of the flavor. The service was great. I will say that. Service was 5 stars. From the hostess seating us to the woman making our salsa to our server, everybody was nice and made conversation and made us feel very welcomed. It was super busy, even though it was a Monday night, and I asked our server how business has been since they opened, and she was quick to tell me it was great and that she was happy that it was so busy. I don’t know, maybe it’s me, but I really like it when a place is busy and the server tells me something like«we are so lucky» or «I’m loving how busy it is.» It’s weird, maybe, but it makes me feel like they really do want my business. I had a coupon from the Entertainment book for the old location that burned down, but they still honored it for us. Service was great, the food was mediocre. Again, it’s not bad food. It’s just not amazing. In Tucson, Arizona, there are one metric butt load of way more authentic, delicious places to get a burrito. They can take some legwork to find, but if you’re in the mood for real Mexican food, this is not the place. If you in the mood for something not so authentic(Hey, that’s a thing. It’s why this place and Taco Bell exist), and something that isn’t Applebee’s but still gives you that vibe, then come here.
