Good music, nice atmosphere, great service, and decent beers. My favorites were the APA, the Golden Guppy, and the raspberry white.

Disappointed by the beer but more so by the service. The double IPA was more like an IPA, it didn’t have the strong hoppy crispness I was looking for, but the white ale was nice and balanced. I didn’t care for the maibock or the belgian strong. The bartender was short with us and rude. Coming to a small town brewery on a Saturday, when it wasn’t crowded, I expected nice service, but the guy seemed like we were bothering him, he gave samples, and didn’t follow up on whether we liked them, didn’t offer suggestions. He had a stack of dirty glasses and when I was sitting at a table outside he leaned down and without asking waited for me to put my empty glass on his stack headed for the dishwasher. Sorry for the rant, but it ruined the experience.

I live in the mountains nearby, and have been to the brewery many times. Bars are rare anywhere north of Greenville, so SRB remains an option for a relaxing beer. The staff is quite consistent with horrible service. The beer is over priced, but not bad. If you love hops, you will love it here. The atmosphere is bland, when crowded, it’s quite loud. This place is a management change away from being a great hangout.

I came on a Saturday afternoon. The location is on a really cute street in TR. This was my first time with a trip made specifically to the brewery but the bar tender who served me was rude and appeared annoyed by my presence. I asked to try the maiboc, and he didn’t respond with words. He was drumming his hands on the bar while my friends looked at the menu. He offered no suggestions or recommendations which I’m not used to at a small, local brewery. We sat out on the patio, and the same rude bartender had about six dirty glasses stacked up and stood next to me without using words and waited for me to add my dirty glass to his stack of dirty glasses headed to the dishwasher. And as soon as my friends finished we left to avoid rude service and went back to greenville and don’t plan to come back. The double IPA was delicious but I was too annoyed with the service to have a good time.

I enjoyed the visit to this brewery. Beer was pretty good. The Marzen(spelling) was really good. Nice flavored pilsner. Highly recommend. Environment was good. Selection a little small. Only issue was when checking out, we had 2 tabs, and a friend asked during ordering to put a few on his. Getting our tabs, mine was fine, but my friends was incorrect. While discussing with a grey haired male bartender, the bartender became very defensive, stating we have been there for a while, like we can’t count. Suggested that we were double billed on the on tab, the bartender then told us «You were not f*cking double billed!» in a very aggressive tone. Very unprofessional and not a way to treat a returning customer. I asked him to not swear, and if he had an itemized bill, which he said no. He pretty much tried to charge one person $ 40 for 10 $ 4 beers. We were there 2.5 hrs. Nobody is drinking 107%ABV craft beers in 2.5 hours. So they cut my friend’s tab a few beers and we left with much disappointment in staff’s treatment. Just be aware a few questions on your tab might lead to getting a F-bomb thrown at you. Besides that, cool place.

This is a cool place to chill, especially the outside area. The beer is priced to high and not great. We tried several and weren’t really impressed with any of them. The bartender was worried more about looking cool than bartending. I would not return to this place.

I really enjoyed this place. It’s a nice place to hang out and talk or play games with friends. They have a very limited selection of beers and it is on the pricey side. My biggest caution is that they are strong beers and they don’t serve food. So beware! They usually have a food truck on site and you can bring in food from outside. Next time, I would definitely get some take out from Shortfields next door or pizza from Sidewall and bring it in.

I hate having to choose between 3 and 4 stars… Realistically I want to rate 3 stars, but I feel like 3 often times looks bad and I certainly didn’t have a bad experience. Maybe my next trip will solidify this as a THREE or FOUR star rating. My lady and I were branching out into Travelers Rest and wanted to visit the brewery. I must say the large brown labradoodle that was hanging out with his owner was the most exciting part of my visit. Now I want one. I loved the layout of the brewery, and the tables for conducive to groups of four or five to sit around and play some card games. I think I saw someone playing scrabble. The bar is a long and can seat a good amount of patrons, And the staff seemed pretty efficient and accommodating. The place was clean and open with all of the brewery equipment openly visible throughout. The beer was good, and reasonably priced for a local craft brew. I can certainly see myself coming back if in the area. Definitely had a good feel for the locals. I only wish that they had a small food menu, but that may be curbed by South Carolina laws, I know that we as a state are still trying to figure out how to handle breweries and restaurants. But a little good food here would certainly take it along way. There were picnic tables out back on a back patio and the front garage door was open to allow a combination of indoor and outdoor seating. There was a food truck on the property, where I got a great chicken sandwich, unfortunately THECHUCKTRUCK doesn’t have a Unilocal account for me to review. If you see them parked behind the building, I would certainly go up and get a burger or chicken sandwich with some sweet potato fries.

I’ve visited Swamp Rabbit a couple of times. I love the location and the atmosphere, though it can be a bit loud between the music and the people playing games. However, there’s a good amount of seating for such a small brewery. The employees can be a bit if-y. I’ve encountered some very nice ones and some that just seem to exist. The beer is decent; I personally like their Nitro Chocolate Porter, especially with a brownie on the side. I do love the fact that if you’re hanging out for a while, they have a small selection of games and great table space to play them on. While the brewery itself doesn’t offer food, you can get takeout from other local restaurants and bring it in, and they often have food trucks in the parking lot as well.

Such an amazing place. When you think of a hidden gem, this is definitely it! Bartenders were very social and educated us on all of their craft brews. If you’re in Travelers Rest or anywhere close take a trip by!

Personally, I’ve been to about 100+ breweries throughout the country just to sample beer. This place is mediocre at best. Prices are very high. Especially for being in a southern state. The brewer is definitely a newbie. Give him a couple years. Best of 5 is white ale. Cool logo though.

A cool chill place. Sometimes live bands inside or on the back deck. No food but several top notch beers brewed on site. Wonderful atmosphere, salty servers and sometimes food trucks will be on site to feed you. A great place to spend a Sunday afternoon in the Foothills!

We walked up and a whole bunch of folks were playing corn hole in the back… Felt like a college tailgate party on a Tuesday! Pretty good beer. Cool taproom and brewery. Will return when the double IPA growler is empty.

What a GREAT spot. I can’t stop thinking about how much of a difference this brewery must be making to the town of Travelers Rest! If you’re coming for a tasting flight, it’s a great deal: $ 12 for a sampling of 4 beers, and you get to keep the(super cute) pint glass afterwards. Not to mention, the bartenders pour a pretty heavy sample that looks and feels a lot more like 6 oz than 3. A really nice open air counter at the front makes for a nice way to taste your way through their beers. Our personal favorites were the Farmy(Saison-ish), Marzen(malty-er pilsner), and the Double IPA(bearable even for a hoppyness-hater like myself). There’s usually a food truck out back, though we gave mixed reviews of the one that was there this past weekend, Ray’s. Shrimp baskets were flavorless frozen shrimp, while the sausage dog was very much enjoyed. Tip: Look for the big rabbit mural on the side of the building, and you’ve arrived! Note, the parking can be scarce, especially on a weekend afternoon or night.

On my visit to South Carolina, I set out to find a brewery where the beer didn’t taste like water. And down south that’s kinda hard… it seems not a lot of folks down south drink the good micro beers that we do up in Montana. But I came across this little brewery and gotta say it wasn’t bad… for the south. What I like the most about this place was how different it. The lighting was dim and the bartender was chill! I had their flight, but the way they served their flight was different. They give you one pint glass and fill it up half way with their beers, the best part after was keeping the pint glass with the swamp rabbit logo. Next time I visit I’ll be coming back for a quick pit stop here again.

I wish they sold this in Cola because that white ale would be my everyday drink. Did the 12 buck«flight» tour(glass comes home) and I loved the white, the choco porter and the double IPA… amazing!

Amazing. If you like beer that is from a craft brewery and isn’t pbr this isn’t place to be. Crowed, happy people all the time and not a bad drink on board. Anybody that says this isn’t a cool place hadn’t found the board games to play or the fun people your can meet. A staple for my Sunday

Swamp Rabbit Brewery does not have a lot of offerings but the ones they do have aren’t bad. I find their prices to be higher than those of other breweries in the area, but I am looking forward to what this newer brewery will be putting out in the future. The taproom itself has a large bar in the center, with a decent amount of seating, and a few tables scattered throughout the interior. They also have a large patio with several tables for people who want to sit outside. They have a schedule of food trucks that come onsite, as they do not serve food. We came on a Saturday afternoon and the place was pretty well packed. They really don’t have service, so you have to order your drinks from the bar. A few bar seats are next to the brewing kettles, but they don’t go over there, which was a little weird. Now onto the important part: the beer. They had five different offerings on the menu. You can do a sampling for $ 12(I think it’s only 3 ounces each), or you can can just order a pint for $ 5.50. I ordered the Marzen, which was the best of there. The taste was smooth, clean, and not overly hoppy, if you like that sort of thing in an Oktoberfest-style beer. My partner ordered the White Ale, which was a whitbier-style beer. It also had a clean taste with great citrusy undertones. Just beware that they have a very small parking lot, which can make it difficult to find parking on the weekend.

A microbrewery with fantastic beers started by experienced and well known brewer Ben Pierson — that sounds amazing, but it’s probably out in Asheville or maybe even in Charleston, isn’t it? Nope. It’s right here in Traveler’s Rest, where you can feel the anxious readiness for growth and see the green shoots of a small downtown that will certainly expand into an exciting and fun place to spend your time, in no small part thanks to this new brewery. I went in for opening day and had a small sample of all the beers they currently have on tap, which included the following: IPA, Pale ale, Marzen(Oktoberfest), White ale and Porter(on nitro). Every beer in the bunch was spot on, clearly carrying years of brewing experience in the smooth and easy to drink recipes. The marzen was the best that I’ve had, and the Porter, creamy, chocolate-laced and smooth, was a delicious glass of dessert. None of the beers are overpowering with any one flavor, all carefully balanced. The IPA isn’t your typical over-hopped ale to cover up all other flavors, but instead a nice clean IPA with a just-right hop punch at the finish. Suffice to say, I went home with a growler of the Marzen and I will be back frequently to have a couple of pints and refill my new Swamp Rabbit growler. Stop for a beer, or three, you won’t be disappointed.
