We recently visited St. Louis and were recommended Cooper’s Hawk by a local. When you first walk in there is a wine bar where you can try the monthly flavors and other wines. You can also purchase chocolates and other sweets. We tried the wine flight and it was wonderful. For our appetizer we ordered the chicken lettuce wraps and they were very tasty! It was a large portion but a little skimpy on the chicken. Would order this again! I ordered a tomato and goat cheese flatbread for my dinner and it was a large portion and very good. My husband ordered the three medallions and had no complaints! The kids meal had several really great choices my daughter went with Mac N Cheese and it came with a chocolate covered strawberry which she loved.

Great food. Nice patio with a great view. We joined the wine club. Get our new bottle every month! They never rush you at the table. Great place to go with girlfriends.

Once again, a delicious meal at Cooper’s Hawk last night. However, I wanted to pass along that the rectangular lighting(closest to the patio) was filled with dead bugs. Once we noticed, it was hard to not keep thinking of them! Very unappetizing.

The selection, food and drink never disappoints. We visit when we can, regardless of timing. Dinner reservations would be recommended. Service is friendly and professional. Recommended!

Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant has always been one of my favorite restaurants to go to. My husband and I are apart of the wine club which is always nice for a quick night out. Being two wine bottle club members we get to enjoy a wine tasting every month. Not only is the wine phenomenal but the food is great too. The southern grilled shrimp and polenta is one of my favorite dishes but each time I come I try to have something different and I have not been disappointed yet.

Cooper’s Hawk opened a year after we moved to Town & Country & it has been out favorite date night spot ever since! Their raspberry wine & peach sangria are amazing! My favorite entrée is the sou ginger salmon but everything we have tried has been delicious!

The food and service was wonderful, The restaurant itself is pleasing to the eye. They also have goodies(cake pops) that you can purchase and take home with you. This place makes me happy.

This was a birthday lunch for my daughter. There were three of us and we selected Cooper’s Hawk because we had heard it was fabulous, and it was convenient to some other things we were doing. The food was actually very impressive and I was surprised by the variety. Since we went for lunch, there were sandwiches/burgers all around. Black bean burger was huge, and very delicous served with the most beautiful side of cole slaw I’ve ever seen. Cilantro Ranch Chicken Sandwich is easily my favorite, and they had no problems bringing me more and more cilantro ranch(because I had to dip their fabulous fries in the stuff!). Last but not least the Chicken Chorizo Burger — HUGE, so flavorful and so fresh! Loved. Our server was so friendly and we had a newborn with us additonally and the entire wait staff was incredibly friendly and doting. For my daughter’s birthday the brought her a fancy plate of truffles with a little whipped cream mound in the corner and a birthday candle. Might be the most unique birthday dish I’ve ever seen! She loved it and the truffles were of course, not surprisingly, to die for! The pretzel bread they served at the beginning was literally melt in your mouth delicious. I have been craving it ever since. Soft, fresh and delicious. Great food and great service. I am looking forward to returning.

My new favorite restaurant. It has everything I desire in a wonderful evening or luncheon out. I love sharing this place with friends as they never disappoint. My favorite dish is the Churascu steak served with roasted vegetables! I have to admit though I have never had anything I didn’t like there. Everything is deliciously prepared! You can’t go wrong traveling around the menu trying their appetizers, entrees, salads and desserts! Then of course their is there amazing selection of wines and the knowledge to go with them. Want to experience a little piece of Napa, California in Missouri? Try Cooper’s Hawk. You will enjoy the price tag as well. I give Coopwrs Hawk 5 stars based on service, food, wine and ambiance. Summer on the patio is a must. I highly recommend a reservation as this place is a favorite and fills up fast.

*Edit* — Parking is a bear here as the lot is always full. Recently we were combing the parking lot for a space and fortunately found a prime spot 2 rows over from the door. Unfortunately, the spot we took was one vacated by a waiter at the end of his shift! Staff should not take the prime parking spots from customers! *Edit* — Had to knock them down by 2 stars. Went in at 5:20 on a Friday night and was told there was a 2 hour wait, even though the place was empty. Doubt I’ll be back except to cancel my membership. It’s pretty useless if you can’t actually eat there. *Original Review* Cooper’s Hawk is quickly becoming our go-to for local dining. The food is consistently good and there is a lot of variety. The staff is always friendly and special requests have always been accomidated. The seem truly focused on making sure you have a pleasant experience. Ask about a wine and they will bring you a sample. If you’re doing a tasting(we’re members which comes with a free monthly tasting) and you’re not interested in the sweeter selections they will gladly swap them out for any wine of your choice. Great food and great service. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it does have a «chain» feel to it, a higher end chain but still a chain.

I’m from Napa so when I saw a claim that they were like a Napa restaurant, my nose pointed in the air like a judgmental Californian and I was ready to pick this place apart. This restaurant is like home to me except with nice, Midwestern people: The food is exquisite, the service is prompt and polite, and the wine selection is awesomely extensive. Our server’s wine knowledge rivals anyone from back home and the pairings were spot on. Here’s where it is not like home — the check. I think we came in under $ 60 for a meal, several tastings(no charge!) and a couple glasses of wine for a lunch. Unheard of in Napa. This will be my go-to place for lunch after a trip to the Aveda salon two doors down for a me-day.

Always solid place. We usually sit in the bar and have wine and apps. Not a huge fan of their entrees.

Our dining friends the B’s invited us to join them for a weeknight dinner at Cooper’s Hawk. We had never been here before so were interested to see what we would find. When we arrived it struck me as a girl’s night out place because there it was busy and almost none of the customers were men. I guess it was just the way it happened that night. We changed tables from the original assignment since the party we were placed next to was extremely loud and we could not have a conversation. By the time we left, the entire place was very loud, so we could not escape it. Cooper’s Hawk is a Chicago originated chain and their thing is having their own wine, kind of like Total Wine and Trader Joe’s. The one label I looked at indicated the source area as being United States, so that narrows down the terroir. Their wines are apparently high volume mass produced source blends from at least three states, CA, WA and OR. The ones that I saw did not indicate an AVA. Their website indicates production of over 250,000 cases. Of course that is across all of their styles, but I’m used to buying wines with more like 250 cases produced. Their server pushes their Club which is a loyalty program, so you have to listen to this sales pitch. None of us had any interest in the loyalty program, there are too many other restaurants to tie ourselves in any way to a chain. I ordered a craft beer from a limited list. As I said, they are pushing their house wines. None of us needed appetizers. Mr B ordered a salad the variety of which I failed to note. He indicated that it was very overdressed and made this comment to the server who really did not care. You may want to order the dressing on the side. Ms T and Ms B both ordered Crispy Fish sandwiches. Ms T said hers was a pretty good, a fairly standard fish sandwich. She rated it at 3−½ stars, so that’s OK. She ordered with plain mayo on the side and received the sriracha mayo on the side instead. She just had wanted to avoid the garlic load from the sriracha. I had the Jalapeño Burger and it was fine. I wished that it had more than one tiny piece of chile jalapeño on it, that all went in one bite. Generally, the food we had on this first visit was OK. The menu is very large. If we return it will probably be because the B’s like to go there. We will avoid the no-provenance wines and the over-priced craft beer. We personally prefer smaller non-commercial mom and pop places. It is not inexpensive with two sandwiches and two beers costing $ 40 without tip.

I ate an Ooey Gooey Butter Cake paired with a raspberry fruit wine in a Cooper’s Hawk, somewhere, several months ago. I snapped a photo of that cake and subsequently forgot about it, partly I believe, because I was not a fan of that raspberry fruit wine pairing reminiscent of a wine cooler. I was ready to give a Cooper’s Hawk a second chance so I offered it up to Hubby as one of two dinner options and this is what he chose. It wasn’t the same location where I had the Gooey Butter cake with the wine cooler-ish pairing. This time it turned out to be a great choice. Everything was right on. Service was very good. Our server, Richard, was pleasant and informative. He had a spot-on recommendation for the pretzel-crusted pork chop which Hubby enjoyed. My Napa chicken chopped salad was fantastic. It had so many of my favorites including avocado, goat cheese, dried cherries, cilantro, almonds, and apples. The tangy sweet honey mustard vinaigrette was a perfect complement. The serving size was huge and I ended up having half of it for lunch the next day, The warm pretzel bread with whipped butter is delightful. There never seems to be enough butter to satisfy me but Richard was happy to bring more along with more pretzel bread. Yum. Overall, a solid 4+ stars. Maybe I’ll upgrade it if I ever get over that wine cooler pairing.

Cooper’s Hawk is beautiful. I thought it was a local establishment until tonight but we learned there are others around the country. At this location, there’s a nice gift shop when you first walk in, and also a glassed-in private room for parties on your way to the main dining room. It feels like something in Aspen — spacious, lots of wood but chic and a somewhat industrial design. The upscale service is nice and our server was great. I ordered an appetizer and salad for my entrée like I often do — the Asian pork tostadas and the wedge salad. The tostadas are listed as «award winning» but I liked the salad much better. The applewood smoked bacon and bleu cheese dressing helped to make it delicious! We’ve been here before and we will definitely be back. The menu’s unique flair is a big draw. I would like to try the roasted beets with whipped goat cheese and candied walnuts the next time we’re here!

I had a wonderful time when I came to dinner here with my friend! My friend and I met for dinner around 6:30 on a Monday evening. When I arrived I stepped into a lovely shopping area. The whole front entrance is filled with gifts and plenty of wine accessories. Since it was around the holidays they had a ton of holiday decorations and gifts as well. I took some time to browse the shop while waiting for my friend. When she arrived she and I looked through some of the gift items together and had a plan for what to purchase on our way out. We walked over to the host stand and and were seated at a table for 2 without a wait. I thought we would have to wait for sure since the places looked packed, but they still had a table open for us. Our server came over with some water once we were seated and explained the menu to us and made a few suggestions. We took some time to look over the menu and my friend and I both agreed on an appetizer. By the time our server came back over to take our drink orders I decided to try the flight of red wines and my friend ordered a glass of the almond wine. Now, I know what you are thinking… almond wine??? Well, yes and it is tasty and refreshing. We also ordered the bruschetta(brie, apple & roasted grape) for an appetizer. My friend and I looked over the menu again and had to decide on our meals. It was tough because everything looked so good, but I knew they had a lobster bisque so I knew I had to have that with a sandwich. I went with the half and half and tried the brie and turkey sandwich as well. My friend ordered a sandwich as well, but I can’t remember what it was. Our server came over to drop off our wine and we ordered. The bruschetta came out pretty quickly and our server did a good job at checking in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. It was nice. Of course, we did save room for dessert and ordered the banana caramel ice cream sandwich to share. It was heavenly and I would so do that again! Banana bread as an ice cream sandwich-sold! Overall, the food was really good and I think the half and half was a perfect choice for me and wasn’t too filling. The flight of wine was warm and delicious and the company was fantastic. I can’t wait to give this place another try. I can definitely see this place being a restaurant to bring parents when they are in town visiting.

Easily one of the best happy hour deals in St. Louis. I highly recommend the Asian BBQ Pork Belly Tostadas — they are delicious!

We loved it! This is a great addition to the Ballwin area, my second visit! Both times the food and service was excellent. On this visit, my husband and I shared the lettuce wrap appetizer — yum! Three dipping sauces, large strips of chicken, lots of sliced veggies, I definitely recommend! We also got pretzel bread(free) which was brought to the table warm. For dinner, I had the filet mignon with onion straws and some garlic(?) butter on top. It came with broccoli and then I picked the Mary’s potatoes which were a mashed potato(I love it with a little potato skin in it). My steak was a little more pink than I personally liked. I asked to have it cooked more, and he quickly ran it back to the kitchen and brought me new sides since they might be cold otherwise(really nice to do!). After that it was cooked perfectly. My husband has the skirt steak meal. Serviced with french fries and sautéed sweet potatoes and peppers. He ate every bite. Then we had the Reese cookie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. It was delicious! We typically don’t order dessert but worth the extra calories. My only complaint was that we had a reservation but it was a little confusing. I gave our name, the person said okay and put our name on a folded piece of paper but never acknowledged what we should do next(re: have a seat, we’ll call your name in a few?). We ended up sitting down and within a few minutes we were seated. Not a huge deal but was definitely a little confusing. Overall– we loved it and will be back. Our server was wonderful and my husband has already picked out that he wants to try the pork belly tostadas!
