Today’s visit was very disappointing. The cashier was very rude to us. He never let us finish what were trying to say. Kept interrupting us with questions regarding our orders. My wife asked for a little pico de gallo. The worker said he would bring it out right away. NEVERSAWIT. Asked about it again same answer.

Just by writing this review, I am getting a stomach ache. I had a friend who went to Wahoo’s and got food poisoning. She warned me not to go but the pictures of their food looked so good I had to try it. They weren’t very friendly and I waited for my food for a very long time. They later realized it and apologized. I got a chicken burrito with green sauce. Unfortunately, just as my friend, I got food poisoning as well and I will never ever get food from Wahoo’s again.

So good! This place has a very tasty burrito. I am from Texas, and we have some pretty good burrito places but Wahoo’s was on point. They have a very friendly place, with a fun atmosphere. This place is usually crowded but never have to wait long for your food. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Had previously stop by on another visit during lunch time and had a fantastic experience. Needless to say my evening visit wasn’t up to par with my last stop. Arriving at 8:50 p.m.(I know 10 minutes to closing time) I ordered four fish tacos. The cook proceeded to microwave the previously cooked fish, and construct my tacos. When i got to my room. I opened up my tacos only two find the tortillas cold and unheated. The microwaved fish has lost its heat as well. I don’t like to speak negatively about any establishment, as prior to my visit this evening was a definite fan. I don’t think it’s right to microwave tacos and serve them to a customer. As hesitant as I am to say I will not be going back. My evening visit made me realize that all their fish is precooked.

I was so surprised and excited when I realized they were vegan-friendly as it’s hard enough finding vegan-friendly places in the Torrance area. I went in and decided on the Bonzai Bowl with tofu togo, which came in one of those styrofoam dishes meant for a main course and 2 sides verses a BOWL. The beans and rice were SO bland and the veggies and tofu lacked any kind of character, unless you doused it in teriyaki sauce. The veggies had a dirt taste — almost like they either weren’t washed properly or they were turning bad. I forced myself to eat about 2⁄3 of it before I just gave up. The worst part was within 1 – 2 hours of eating it, I found myself with a stomach ache and in the bathroom. I didn’t eat breakfast, so I know it was the lunch. I wish I could have had a better experience — especially since a handful of other vegans have raved about their food — but I didn’t. The only reason part of me wants to try one more time is the vegan aspect. If I wasn’t, though, I wouldn’t return.

The prices for wahoos has always been on the higher side, but for the size and quality I never minded paying. Now the quality is awful, and the sizes are ATLEAST a third of the size they used to be. Added with rude customer service? No thanks, plenty of other fish taco places around!

I’ve been coming here for years, even before becoming vegan. I usually get the brown rice and black bean burrito and it’s always very satisfying. If I’m really hungry, then I’ll also have rice and beans on the side. When I come here with a friend, I usually split a side of chips and salsa. For you vegans out there, here are the vegan options according to Wahoo’s Customer Service: «The following fillings our 100% vegan: banzai veggies, mushrooms, and tofu. Vegan sides include: brown rice, black beans, white beans, red enchilada sauce and guacamole.» It would be nice if vegan options were clear on their menu, but hey.

So every time I come here it’s never busy! I wonder why?! This place is bomb, healthy, &CHEAP! The workers are just okay… they’re not super friendly, but they’re just okay. I usually order(2) beef enchiladas w/red sauce, black beans and brown rice. Make sure to ask for cilantro sauce! Also, just a heads up. If you download the Wahoo Fish Tacos app, you get a free taco!

Free food! Who doesn’t like free food? Thanks to some coupons on the mail, I got to try out various freebies at the neighborhood Wahoo’s Fish Tacos. The first item I got to try was the #1 combo which comes with either taco or enchilada, black or white beans and rice. I got to try both the taco and enchilada and though the enchilada was pretty good. The sauce was flavorful but spicy. The taco had too little meat. As for the beans, neither the black or white beans won me over. I felt the black beans were too bland. It was also similar with the brown rice. The brown rice lacked flavor. The second item I got to try was the Son of Classic burrito with steak. I paid extra to make it a wet burrito with red sauce. The burrito was spicy and filled with lots of beans. It’s one pretty hefty burrito. The third item I got to try was the Kale Kai salad and this was my favorite out of all their offerings. It has lots of chicken! The cilantro sauce is spicy but brings lots of flavor. The salad is packed with chicken and all the ingredients! It’s healthy, hearty and good! Again out of every thing, this was my favorite. The tacos were my least favorite but the kale kai salad was the best for me. Overall Wahoo’s Fish Tacos is ok. The free offerings were a good way to introduce newbies like myself to try out their various offerings.

This is my comfort food. Banzai burrito, steak, black beans, brown rice, beer of the month. Love the vibe too. Good stuff. Oh yeah, and that gringo bandito hot sauce is pretty tasty.

So I’ve heard a lot of good things about Wahoo’s. But I didn’t enjoy it all that much. I ordered the Salmon Bowl which is a Polynesian Grilled Salmon, served on a Bed of Brown Rice, Citrus Slaw Mix & side of Homemade Aioli Sauce. It sounds good huh? I mean I ate it. My sister had the Homemade Chicken Tortilla Soup with Avocado Slices. I tasted it, was weak. She also had the Kale Kai Salad™ with Salmon, Organic Kale, Avocado, Mixed Greens, Tortilla Strips & Black Bean and Corn Salsa. She enjoyed everything. Am I getting picky? Torrance location, before hitting the Del Amo Mall on Torrance Blvd. Lots of parking in back. Service was okay.

Not bad but not great either I’ve been here years ago but decided to come back since my brother was craving Mexican food. I got the 2 taco plate(spicy fish and carne asada) and it comes with brown/white rice and beans which I substituted with slaw for $ .50. Here’s where the disappointment comes in. 1. Asked for brown rice but got white. Turns out they put the brown rice into my brother’s burrito 2. The side slaw that I upgraded to tasted the same as the slaw that came with the tacos. Now half my plate is slaw… 3. I realized the fish for the fish tacos were grilled rather than fried crispy like I imagined. Healthier, but not what I expected, or what I was craving All in all, Wahoo’s might be a good place for healthier Mexican food since it wasn’t greasy but I wouldn’t come back here when I want real Mexican. If I do come though, I would opt for a burrito since my brother’s was tasty. The service was good though, the ladies working were very friendly.

I am amazed that this location can stay in business, but it has been here for years. Wahoo’s has a long café behind a narrow storefront on the south side of Torrance Blvd. between Madrona and Hawthorne. All Wahoo’s look the same — cement floors and stickers all over the walls. The focus is on grilled fish tacos, but they have a variety of enchiladas, burritos and bowls. The staff in this location is particularly rude. They confer with each other in Spanish in response to customer orders rather than speaking to the customer in English. So, you are not going to know what you are getting until you review your receipt. DH had the banzai burrito with black beans, brown rice($ 0.25 up charge) and spicy fish. For $ 7.04, it was a pretty modest sized burrito and quality was on par with El Pollo Loco where the burrito would have been much cheaper. Plus, no chips here — those are extra. My order was a disaster. I wanted the banzai bowl with chicken and no/rice or beans. I was looking for mostly veggies(FYI: not a good idea here, because of their infatuation with salty teriyaki sauce) and a little chicken. Instead, the staff decided to order me a side of veggies with extra veggies and double meat. I got the spicy chicken which had a pleasant heat but was dry. The veggie mix — bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, cabbage, and broccoli — would have been great had they taken it easy on the salty sauce. $ 9.50 later, and I felt ripped off for a fast food establishment. I didn’t want all of that dry chicken, and I didn’t need sauce to be pouring out of the container. I do not recommend Wahoo’s at all. Particularly this location.

Fresh tasting American style baja Mexican type food. I usually get the banzi bowl with spicy fish with brown rice and spicy white beans. They have released a few new items such as the wild salmon salad/bowl. I think their brown rice is awesome. I like the fact that you can customize the protein/rice/beans options on all of their plates. The burrito are nice size. I consider them the Seafood option of Chipotle. What happen to the Gringo Bandito hot sauces tho?

3 and half stars. Wing! What is happening to Wahoos? I have been going to various Wahoos since that American Express commercial many years ago, and I remember it being really ono. You know, like broke da mouth good. Lately they seem to be adding new menu items, but, if the basic ones, like fish tacos are coming out dry on a consistent basis I donno what is going on with my once favorite fast food. The staff is still very friendly and attentive so I will give the the service 4.5 stars, but maybe it is this location. I should go back to Manhattan Beach or try the Rivera Village location next to TJs. So I ordered the basic charbroiled fish tacos. There was a new slaw they were offering but I wanted something basic baja style. In addition I ordered the taquitos. The taquitos are always greasy, but the first taco I bit into the fish was a little dried out. I know sometimes when it is busy they load up the grill with fish so they can get your order out, but I think that is what drys the fish out. In addition they ran out of XX halfway though the pour. Honestly, who runs out of a Mexican beer right before dinner at a Mexican place? Actually, I have been to other Wahoos where they have run out of beer. So Wing, what’s up? I feel like you snaked my wave, snowed my barrel, dropped in on me. Luckily I’m not Da Hui. I hope the Torrance store can pull it together since I am right down the street.

One of the many blessings about living in the beautiful state of California is the glorious fish taco. Wahoo’s deviates away from the traditional batter and instead uses grilled fish for their tacos. I don’t prefer one over the other, but I feel that they don’t give you a sufficient amount which ends up downplaying the most important aspect of a fish taco. Luckily the fish packs a decent amount of flavor and, alongside the fresh cabbage and pico de gallo, makes for a pretty decent fish taco. What I love most about Wahoo’s is the brown rice and black beans. Most people would consider the beans too dry, but I think their method of cooking makes them much better than their soupy counterpart. I also like the option of being able to order brown rice and I’ve never had it cooked too moist/dry here. Flavor-wise, I would say its prepared in a similar fashion as Chipotle; but texture-wise, it’s much better prepared at Wahoo’s. I’ve never ordered anything besides fish taco plates, so I wouldn’t be able to comment on anything else on the menu. However, the food here just tastes so clean, if that makes sense; and I always leave satisfied.

I often associate Wahoo’s as one of those restaurants I frequented during my college days. I’ve stuck many a sticker on the walls of this establishment to promote my then bf’s rock band. But as time goes by and tastes change(both in food and in men), I’ve let go of many of those restaurants. However, Wahoo’s has made it’s way back into my world. The Citrus Slaw Tacos are legit! I get them with the teriyaki tofu and they’re fully loaded with veggies and lime juice. It’s so tasty and filling. Sometimes I even add guacamole which makes them more amazing. Two tacos are usually enough for me in one siting since it also comes with rice and beans. The price is very reasonable too. I also want to acknowledge how amazing the service is here. I’ve been here maybe five times in the last year and every single visit has been a pleasurable experience with the staff. They genuinely want to help you, they check on you to make sure everything is to your liking, and they are just so nice and friendly. This is a true example of how customer service should be!

Bleh. Many years ago I used to patronize Wahoo’s and order the same thing every time-taquitos, a side of rice, and a fountain drink. I was a creature of habit. Back then it was a cool place to hang out with friends and I had good memories. They have extreme sports on the TVs and a creative kind of vibe in the restaurant. There are stickers of extreme sport related things, surfboards and snowboards, posters, etc. on the wall. The atmosphere kind of created an experience. I returned after a long, long absence because I was just down the street at the library and thought I could bring some tacos to work for lunch the next day. Had one of the fish tacos and side of brown rice. Very bland! Not much on flavor. I shall be absent from this place again for a very long time.
