Came here on a whim with a friend on a Saturday night. A busy place, full of diners and a mixed crowd looking to have a good time on an off night. The Restaurant /lounge has a feeling of a large house with several rooms /areas. tables, couches and a couple of separate dining areas. It make for an interesting lay out. Of course dimly lit, loud, did I say crowded? A medium sized bar, we were able to get a drink without starting a bar fight. Host was able find a table soon enough. There was live music. It made it difficult to have a conversation but that’s not why we were there. We ordered appetizers and wine. Both were ok in terms of taste and portion size. But we loved the ambiance, the crowd, the music. After dinner time, tables were cleared off the floor and we danced all night. Awesome ! Apparently D’Cache closed at it’s current location and is looking to re establish elsewhere. I hope it finds as an eclectic of a place soon.

I was so confused how to rate this place. The service was amazing! so I just could not mark it with 1 or 2 stars. our server was so great. He was just perfect. But the food is so «not great» The most terrible part was the dessert — as my bf said«it is so bad that you could start thinking that it is good» I dont remember the name of it. The atmosphere is cool and romantic — so it could be a good place to hung out with friends or get wasted.

I need to try this place out again… We were there for Valentine’s day and the pre-fix menu didn’t do us justice. We were a group of 6 people and we spent over $ 500(including cocktails) and everyone left hungry. I hope to change my review after another visit(trying to be fair) but A+ to the Spanish guitar and live music!

I don’t know what people are talking about, this place is some of the best food I have eaten in my life. Friend and I were just driving by and heard about the place and stopped. Confusing to find the entrance, but once there, you enter this romantic Spanishy vibe. We went on a Tuesday evening, so nothing but a few locals gathered around the bar. Mark my words, the new chef, Phillip Lee, is going to be a superstar. Really creative and super passionate about his method and ingredients. Makes the goat cheese from scratch, ages his own charcuterie(my favorite word), and he’s going to plant his own veggies at the restaurant this year. We ordered basically everything on the Happy Hour menu– the empanadas were delicious, but were the most mediocre thing we ate. The ribs were incredible– it had a very interesting undertone that you don’t get in other BBQ ribs– and tender as hell. The seafood ceviche was amazing– I credit the sweet red onions, but it was a well-balanced ceviche– not salty, not tart and the corn bits were fresh and raw. The star for us was the oysters– we had to have seconds. It was topped with a frothy beet emulsion and went down perfect. We were also treated to a try of the cap steak – they cure it themselves for at least 20 days. And the chef also tried out a new recipe on us– it was some sort of steamed egg thing with chorizo in it– fluffy and interesting as it had all kinds of flavors in it. If you do nothing else, have a coffee and the Chocolate Bar dessert. It’s like a fudge, but not too sweet, and very chocolatey. So rich we actually shared it with some girls at the bar and you should’ve seen how their eyes brightened after just a taste. The sangria was spicy and yummers. Service was awesome. I feel like every dish was an adventure and I very much enjoyed it.

This is a ‘review for Happy hour. Happy hours from 5 – 8 Tuesday, wednesday, Thursday. $ 7 cocktails, $ 7 wines, $ 4 bottled beer and $ 7-$ 8 appetizers. Best thing on the happy hour menu hands down are the ribs. The meat falls off the bone. Dark, cozy atmosphere, comfy bar and a beautiful lounge and patio. Antonio takes good care of his customers. Only reason I’m giving it 3 stars is for the limited happy hour days and the HH drink prices(cocktails & wine) are higher than average. Still a great place to visit. I will be back. No customer WiFi.

D’Cache is one of my favorite spots in town… This sexy lil hideaway is great spot to listen to spanish music, sample delicious tapas, and the sangria is very authentic to what I experienced in spain. Great hospitality!!! and Service!

I came here for a quick cocktail and all it did was make me want to return for dinner. To get to the restaurant you have to walk up a driveway. It was a little odd but the entryway is beautiful, it makes you feel as if you are walking into a hidden house which makes the experience even more special. My friend and I sat at the bar and were served by a really friendly, and helpful bartender. I ordered the Margarita, excellent. They have a variety of specialty cocktails, but I am a Margarita girl through and though. The food was excellent, my favorite being the beef empanadas. Empandas can be done some many different ways but they were not greasy, crisp and loaded with perfectly seasoned meat. The short ribs were tender, easy to eat; the flatbread, a recommendation, was almost burnt on the edges but okay besides that. A great find, especially the fun of walking in to something hidden that turns out to be so wondeful.

This place has a lot of potential. They can improve on the food quality and quantity. They can also make the menu selection a little better, just like the drink menu they got.

I’ve been in this place before and the food from the old menu was awesome. So This place just make the worst decision ever. Apparently I read on the news they just hired a new Chef the nI decided to give it a try. And… Bad Choice! I spent $ 100 on food and I was still hungry. Yes it is a tapas place but let me tell you. I love food and I have tried the best restaurants around the world so I know what to look for. The new menu is reads poorly and, bad decision on the dishes. the Paella has been the worst Paella in my life, the chorizo with caviar it’s a joke. I just hope they realize the big mistake they have made before they tank. other than than. the bartenders are the best and the life music is great!!!

I had dinner here with my BF last night. The décor was nice and the server was friendly which is why I am giving it two stars. As for the drinks and food, the execution is a fail. I guess they recently got a new executive chef and new menu. We started off with a couple of glasses of the sangria. Their sangria is a hot mess. It came to us luke warm with a few cropped bits of fruit the sized of mini raisins. It’s like drinking something with floaties. The fruit flavor was not infused in wine at all. We switched to a couple of glasses of Cabernet after that. We ordered a half dozen oven roasted oysters. The presentation was beautiful and the oysters were good(it was still raw, which I like, even though they say it’s oven roasted) but adding the carrot juice foam on top gave it a very strange taste. It would have been great without the carrot juice. We tried the shaved salad. The presentation of a variety of different vegetables was beautiful but the taste was a disappointment. It was just plain shaved thin slices of vegetables and the portion was TINY. Then we waited for about 30+ minutes for our main courses. Not sure what was taking so, maybe it was the fact that they had a photographer taking pictures in the kitchen all night. His flash kept clicking away. My BF got the dinner course Paella, it had a good amount of seafood, but the portion again was small. I tasted it, I thought it was fine, nothing to rave about, certainly not worth the price. My BF asked for an order of bread to eat with his Paella, we were told they don’t do bread. Very strange. Can’t be that difficult to offer a little bread to eat with your meal I got the dinner course Ribeye steak medium rare. It came out COLD! We asked for them to heat it up. They brought it back on a hot plate but the steak was still COLD! By this time, I was starving and decided it was not worth waiting and asking a second time for them to heat it up and just ate the tiny steak cold. And the portion was TINY! We also tried their crème brûlée. The strangest crème brûlée I have ever had. The crème brûlée was bland and their was no burnt sugar on top, instead it had three shards of sugar pieces stuck in the brulee. We tried to stay positive and wanted to enjoy our Friday night dinner out. Our server was very nice and apologetic about the COLD steak but I told him it’s not his fault, he should not have to apologize for the chef’s failure. They put more attention on presentation and look of the food verses the taste and execution. I feel this place is trying to be something it’s not. The bill for the above meal for the both of us came out to about $ 150 not including tip yet. We both left hungry and had to eat a snack when we got home. I really hate giving a bad review, but I am a big foodie, my BF and I eat out a lot, 4 – 6 times a week, we eat at budget to high end restaurants, we are very open to trying new foods, just look at all my check-ins. We eat out a lot. I am sorry to say, I would not recommend this place to anyone. Price is too high for small portions of so so food and for the long wait is not worth it when there are so many amazing restaurants in the area. BTW — at the bottom of the menu, it states that on Friday and Saturday nights there’s a $ 35 minimum per person. Their prices are high so you can easily hit that mark with a drink and one of their dinner plates, but is it really necessary to state that on their menu. I have never seen that high of a price per person on any menu before.

This place was not what I had expected. Took two of my friends out for dinner, made a reservation at 8pm and our table wasn’t even ready. After a few minutes of waiting, one of the hostess saw us and seated us. A half an hour later our waiter took our drink order and then forgot about us. An hour later he took our appetizer order and an hour and a half later, after asking another waiter to find our waiter, we finally placed an order. When we got our food, only three out of four of us were served, 15 minutes later my friend got his plate. One of my friends ordered lamb and it was pure fat! the food was so so. Two hours later my friend had his lamb replaced by steak and it was ok. Our waiter did not come back to refill our drinks and the place wasn’t even busy! Our bill came over 2 bills and at that time I didn’t even want to leave a tip… So we handed our waiter $ 12 for tip, paid our bill and left. As we were waiting for the valet to bring our car, the floor manager came out angry and asked why we only tipped our waiter $ 12 on a bill over $ 200! This was ridiculous! I explained to him that a tip is earned and for the service provided, he was lucky to get a tip. He then stated that I offended his waiter and went back inside. We ended up leaving around 10:45 which spoiled the rest of our evening plans. This place had the worst service, I would not recommend this place to anyone. We were better off going to a place like El Torrito then going here.

This place is a real class act. The Hostess/Co-Owner(Barbie) is friendly and adorable as is the manager(he actually got on the mic and performed with the band. Super good!). We got comfy at the bar as the place was packed(Saturday night with live music). It’s a classy Valley crowd. What I mean by that is that it isn’t the Hollywood crowd, it’s the type of people you can really strike up a good conversation with. The mushroom pizettes are really really good as are the mojitos. And the people who come here can DRINK! I’ve never seen such a busy restaurant bar, they must have had 4 bartenders slammed at one point. Fun spot, we made some new friends. Only word of caution is that other than the pizettes the tapas portions we ordered at $ 9+ are SMALL. Super small meaning 3 bites. I’d stick with larger entrees, even though they are more money you will get more for your money. Ask about the portion sizes when ordering. I almost forgot, their crème dessert is AMAZING. A must try

Let me preface by saying that I was tasked with picking a venue for my work’s annual Christmas lunch. Worst. Task. Ever. It’s hard to please everyone! However, after some extensive Unilocal research, I chose D’Cache. I didn’t pay for one single morsel, so I’m sure this review is severely biased… like every other Unilocal review that ever existed. However, the prices on the menu didn’t seem too unreasonable for the type of food you’re getting. I’ve seen pricier tapas places in LA with even smaller portions. Let me also double-preface by saying that I swear on everything holy that this restaurant is not invisible. It DOES exist, it’s just very well hidden from the street by a dentist’s office. Go ahead and blindly trust your Google Map GPS and when you see the dentist’s office, TURN. With that said, this place was a success! If you are in your 20s, 30s, 40s, 60s, or 70s, and you are adventurous with food or non-adventurous with food, you will probably like this place for lunch. How do I know? Because this is my exact mix of coworkers/bosses who enjoyed D’Cache. If you’re below 20, in your 50s, or old as dirt, then you’re on your own, and if you’re neither an adventurous eater nor a non-adventurous eater then you’re probably dead because you don’t eat. First of all, good food delivered hot(or cold as necessary) to a large party in a TIMELY manner? That deserves at least 3 stars on its own. Bravo! So many restaurants fail at the large party conundrum… or as I call it the«large party cliff». Secondly, the food was good! It’s pan-Latin food, with cuisine ranging from Spain to South America with a touch of Cuba. I don’t know how authentic it all is, but I don’t really care – it was tasty, presented well, and with good portion sizes. My whole party pretty much ordered the span of the menu, but I only tasted a few things: My Paella Valenciana and some tapas including the Pinchos Gaucho Style, the Empanaditas Cubanas, and the Ecuadorian Ceviche, which wasn’t on the lunch menu, but we got it anyway. Not to go into too many specifics, but tapas-wise, the Empanaditas would be my recommendation. I like my Ceviche more mouth-puckeringly sour, so if you’re the same, then I wouldn’t recommend it. I would recommend the Paella Valenciana as an entrée too. It’s not as good as paella I had in Spain(duh), but for stateside paella, it’s good. They don’t use rice-a-roni like some places! It had a great citrus tang to it. And it’s just as good as leftovers the next day! All the cows, chickens, and seafood on the table looked great and, through hearsay, were all good. That Rib Eye Steak looked finger-lickin’ GOOOOD. I’d order it if I came back. The environment is cozy and homey, and the staff is super-friendly. There was a mishap for one order, but the staff was great about it. My biggest pet-peeve is when restaurants are barely apologetic for big mishaps. It’s a great place for big parties too as there were a couple holiday lunches going on at the same time. We didn’t even get charged the mandatory tip for parties of 7 or more, but we gave them a big tip anyway. And by «we», I mean«not me». Most importantly… a nice collection of alcohol.

I went with some friends(6 of us) last Saturday to celebrate a birthday… Food was very mediocre for the price… Overpriced and very, very small portions. Atmosphere, band and service were good but definitely not worth the price. Drinks were expensive as well and not different than the drinks I can get for $ 8.00 at any regular restaurant. Our bill for 6 people, 2 drinks each, 3 entres and 3 appetizers was $ 598.00 and worse of all a few of us were still hungry!

My husband and I ate here on a date night. The restaurant is beautiful and set the tone for a romantic night out. They projected a Spanish band playing in the dining area but set the volume at the perfect level. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food was good but wasn’t the best Spanish food I’ve ever had. We started by sharing the Catalan salad. This was a beautiful salad of eggplant, tomato, basil, mozzarella with a balsamic/olive oil drizzled over it. The salad was refreshing and tasty. We moved on to the cheese and jamon plate. I was a bit disappointed that there were only three small pieces of jamon, especially considering the plate was $ 22. The plate also had three types of cheese, fruit and almonds. It was ok but I could’ve made it at home. For our entrée we ordered the paella. They only have one kind and it was good but not spectacular. It could’ve used some salt and the shrimp was a touch overcooked but it did have the crispy bits that I love with my paella. Overall, I loved being there more than I loved eating there. Considering the price I will probably not eat there again.

What did you say? Can you repeat? Sorry, I can’t hear you. We went to this place with another couple who we do not see very often so it was nice to catch up with them at dinner. Everything was going great before the band started! The band was so loud that it made it hard to hear the person talking right in front of you. When we got seated, the hostess told us we got a table that would not be that loud as I think she saw the concern on our faces as we got seated in front of band. Well she was wrong, the music was too loud and it got progressively louder as dinner went on. I do have to say, the food and wine I ordered was decent and the ambiance was also the same, it was cozy — but perhaps a little too cozy and small. Actually come to think of it, the bands guitar was almost hitting me in back of the head. I also agree with other reviews about cost of food. It seems overpriced. The service was also not that great. My wife had to ask for more water three times, but perhaps the server(s) couldn’t hear us! The original waitress never brought us any after asking twice so we had to flag down(using hand signals of course) another server. So if you go to this place you should either bring earplugs, know sign language, or get a table as far away from band as possible, although when the band plays the music they play at intermission is also loud. We left the restaurant with horse voices from trying to hold dinner conversation — it was like we had just left a concert or club. Park on street too as there is plenty of street parking around. Save your money for the bill, you’ll need it. Good place to dine if you don’t actually want to hear or talk to the people you are dining with. I woke up with my ears ringing.

I came here for Happy Hour(5 – 6:30pm) with Emily S, Janelle Q. and Robert H. We split the sampler platter for 4($ 35). You get about 5 – 6 cheese balls, 5 – 6 beef filled empanadas and a stack of short ribs. Cheese balls — 3 stars. Hot balls of deep fried mozzarella. Beef Empanadas — 4 stars. Pretty good, small in size, but not overcooked. Short ribs — 5 stars. The meat just fell off of the bone at my command. You won’t even need to flex a muscle to rip the meat off the bone. The sauce was stellar. I’d recommend just ordering these from the appetizer menu if you only have one option in mind. The food took forever and day to prepare, but the rest of the service was nice and hospitable. Our bartender kept our glasses full of sangria as we waited and even served up a round on the house because the food took so long. Not to forget mentioning, but the purple stuff tasted pretty good too. It’s a little on the pricey side for the amount of food that you get, so I’d suggest going during happy hour for 50% off the tapas menu if you are looking to try this place out.

Bomb ass food and service! Restaurant is located behind the dental office, there’s a small obscure sign in the front which leads you to an alley way into a parking lot — which btw is filled with expensive cars. Must-get: Fiesta platter for 2 — Empanadas, cheese balls, and baby back ribs $ 20 Gamba’s al Ajillo — garlic shrimp w/flatbread — the sauce is to die for Lentil soup w/Truffle oil — good quality and very savory Pastel de Tres Leches — Puerto Rican dessert — meh not very good. Lunch was ~$ 35/person. NEED to come for Happy Hour!!!
