Great Folks, amazing atmosphere! I usually go there on Thursdays for their Grooveolution nights, wonderful times with such positive vibes! These guys know for sure what they’re doing, the music’s great, they got 2 awesome DJs with different guest DJs every week, very professionally produced ! Definitely going back to their events, very friendly and sociable place, some of the guys have already become my good buddies, much love and support for you guys! Cheers!!!

The location is nice but the music sucks. They need to get a better DJs and better bartenders if I wasn’t drunk I probably wouldn’t of had fun the bartender was a straight up ass hole!

Ok so this review is WAY overdue. My boyfriend and I went there for their New Year’s eve event. So we weren’t really feeling the crowd, but the free food that they had(I think it was Portos) was great and I have to give it up to their AMAZING bartender Dave! The crowd was huge, he had to «burn» his bar 3 times throughout the night(on one occasion because an attendee shattered his cup in the ice non) and yet he never lost his smile and enthusiasm. He kept everyone well informed as to the situation and reminded us that although he couldn’t make bar drinks he could keep serving us bottled beers and wines. He was AWESOME! Thanks DAVE!!!

Honestly some rude service going on here. My friend and I initially ordered a «mixed vodka» shot. The girl bartender did us our first shot. We came back and reordered our another shot with JORDAN and he asked the girl, then he tired to remake it. Making my best friend throw up, I kindly asked him to add a little sweetener, something into the shot(it was undrinkable) he grabbed my shot and said«honey I have no idea what she did» I told him can’t you ask her(the girl bartender). He yelled saying that he did not know what she told him. Then he took my drink shot added pineapple juiced then tossed it back to me. Spilling some of my shot I paid for, when returning it back to me. I would put negative stars if I could! Usually I over tip my bartenders!

They have a dress code(no hats of any type) Their drinks are way too expensive. A small drink for 10 bucks. Arrogant to think people will pay that in the NoHo Arts District. They’re trying to be trendy in a run down old building. Sorry, im just not that into you.

I have been going to this bar/lounge for couple of years now, almost every other Friday or Saturday, and it has been consistently a good time. The drinks are a little pricey but the service is great, all the bartenders have been very friendly and prompt. The best thing about it has to be the music, Saturday specifically. The new management made Friday a predominantly techno night and while I enjoy that kind of music, it can get to be too much. It would be better if it goes back to the good ol’ mix of commercial rap/pop/techno/oldies since it’s more fun to dance to. The bathroom stalls are excruciatingly small but that wont stop me from going there. The atmosphere is pleasant, drinks taste good, people are nice. Since I don’t really go there to meet men/women the appearance of the general clientele does not bother me unlike some of the other reviewers. The one thing that does irritate me is the $ 5 charge after 10:00pm because thats just greedy. Overall I enjoy going to Skinny’s and will probably continue to do so.

Skinny’s got a nice face lift. There is no more funky smell in here. I love it. The dark ambiance is night and can be romantic for a date. I love Sunday’s — free entry and you get to see local bands. It’s a great spot. Come check it out. The down side is that the drinks are a bit pricey. It cost $ 18 for only TWO shots of Fireball! WOW! Ease up on your drink prices.

This place BLOWS!!! The one star goes out to the super rad & friendly door man! Award for the ‘B*tchiest Bartender Ever’ goes out to Anna… She was super rude to me & all of my sweet friends. This b*tch LITERALLY told me to «go take a number» in such an angry tone… yeah, that’s how we were greeted. There were two bartenders behind the bar and literally 1 other person sat at the bar who’s drink she was finishing making. Was that remark really necessary? One of their regulars was trying to defend her to us saying that she was«just in a mood tonight”-PFFFT! Yeah, ok buddy! ANOTHER patron outside overheard us talking about how horribly rude she was & commented that«she was drunk and definitely a b*tch» so clearly Anna is just a b*tch! Despite the lousy treatment, we still tipped her over 20% thinking she’d be nicer to us the second time around. But no! Zero gratitude, she was fuming over who knows what that she could hardly even acknowledge/look at us. FYI this dump was DEAD! You’d think this b*tch would appreciate several happy, top-shelf-buying patrons who will get at least a couple of rounds. If Jon Taffer from Bar Rescue were here, she would have been CANNED! The bottom line: y’all got a str8 B*TCH for a bartender! BADVIBES, BRO! All my local friends & I ain’t comin’ here no mo! Skinnys is officially removed from our list. You do realize this location depends on locals-right? No one likes spending money just to be treated like shit, especially when we’re there to have a good time. There are plenty of other local bars in noho that appreciate our business. BYE!!!

Friday night before 10pm free, after you pay $ 10. Great dance floor with a good light show and and nice and dark. The cocktails are $ 8.50 and taste like they have barely any alcohol in them. When I asked them about it both girls behind the bar gave me attitude about it. They have a guy running around picking up drinks from tables that are not always empty.

Went here for the first time tonight because it was a friends bday. She reserved two tables which was cool because at around 11 it started to fill up. They charge a $ 5 cover charge and the parking sucks(Check small streets) The mixed drinks are excellent but the draft beer sucks(Stick to canned/bottle) Good space to dance but the«DJ» was lousy and didn’t know what music to play. Overall you’ll have a good time if you’re with friends but not a bar that will WOW you.

WOW!!! What an awesome place. Wednesday nights are the GREATEST nights to come to Skinny’s Lounge, located in North Hollywood(Metal/Rock Night!!!). As you walk towards the entrance of Skinny’s, guests are greeted by the«Muscle,» Thomas Craven, who ensures that everyone has a good time in a safely manner. Skinny’s Lounge has a family environment to it. I like to compare it to the TV show Cheers: «Where everybody knows your name.» As you enter the lounge, guests are greeted by two amazing bartenders, Carolyn and Charlie. These two bartenders are extremely knowledgeable in creating great tasting cocktails and providing fast service while taking the time to make each guest feel welcomed. As a bar manager, I consider these skills and traits extremely important for any bartender who works in the hospitality industry. I would hire both of these bartenders in a heartbeat! Furthermore, if you LOVE Rock-n-Roll and Metal, then Wednesday nights at Skinny’s Lounge is the place to be!!! Skum Love, who is an A&R for Schecter Guitar Research, does an amazing job at hosting Rock-A-Holic«Live Band Karaōke.» What an awesome concept. Skum Love creates an environment where people can listen to great music and also share their artistic talents on stage. I encourage everyone to come to Skinny’s Lounge on Wednesday nights to support the local bands and Rock-A-Holic«Live Band Karaōke.» Let’s be real. Music venues in Hollywood are overrated, such as Lucky Strike Live. Let’s continue to create Rock-n-Roll in Hollywood, however, its North Hollywood’s time to shine. Come to Skinny’s Lounge on Wednesday nights where they don’t charge the artist a fee to play at their venue. I guarantee you that you’ll have a good time. Many bars do the typical karaōke theme where a person sings in front of a TV screen. However, Skum Love brings you the real thing! Pick your song and instrument(Guitar, Bass, Drums, or Vocals) and prepare to ROCKYOURASSOFF.

Top shelf prices at a bottom dollar dive bar. The place is almost always completely empty and if you’re one of the few who wandered in trying to find an interesting spot in noho be prepared to pay club prices to sit in a local hoke in the wall. $ 9.00 for a shot of fireball in noho that’s about $ 4 – 5 most places in hollywood. Me thinks not. Better off drinking at home.

I may be biased in this review because I had the time of my life there and not everyone’s experience may be the same. Ok it was five dollar cover charge, no line. It was live karaōke. The place was not that packed, but probably 50 people in the place. I got up on stage and sang the Cult. Then left the stage to get a drink. The next time on stage was the magic sauce. My friend from high school who lives in LA and I haven’t seen in 8 years gets on stage and sits at the drum set. I am on the mic. Oh dip it’s our high school alternative band again. Although we did straight rock and roll. We played motley crue, too young to fall in love, killed it. Then all of a sudden the guitarist goes into hells bells without warning. That electrified me, whoa. I start singing without lyrics in front of me. Killed the song it was siiiiiiiiiiick. Then all of a sudden iron maiden. What? Killed that too. people were rocking on the floor, in my face just jamming out. I haven’t had fun like that in a long time, like Billy Joel for the longest time It’s LA, drinks were a bit expensive but whatever. I had a blast and props to the bar owner for letting an adult be a rocker wild child again.

I’ve been here a couple of times and have been impressed each time. Originally I came here because some friends of mine perform on Mondays(for the month of August), but I’ll definitely be coming back even after their contract is over. The bar service is a little bit slower, but I think that’s just because there’s only one bartender and the crowd is fuller than you’d expect on a Monday night. The layout of the place is really comfortable, the stage is a good size, and the crowd is a ton of fun and very friendly — I came here to support my friends and have made so many new ones just from hanging out. Would recommend.

Another Unilocaler on here said ‘Don’t bother going if you’re a girl’ & she’s friggin right… the service is TERRIBLE. One particular bartender who is about 45(&MAD about it) is a RAGINGWITCH. I mean it’s ridiculous how rude she is to the girls ordering at the bar. I gave this place 2 chances since the music is pretty good but dang, since DAYONE Cougar Town got on my last nerve. The first time we were a Birthday(with bottle service!!) party of over 16 people & spending tons of COLDHARDCASH& tipping well! …yet still this hag still had issues serving the women. oh God FORBID u ask for a water back!!! LOL pft she about spit on me. This last time(emphasis on LAST) we were there for all of 2 drinks before olé Crap Face struck again & we booked it to The Federal… so do urself a favor &SKIPSTEPONE. Hey Skinnys… BYEEEE ;)

The best of the people who are in the know. Rock lives at Skinnys, and you might not know about it; but DJ Skum Love is the crème de la crème. Musican, DJ, Philanthropist, and all around great guy You’d be a fool not to go!

I visited Skinny’s Lounge a couple months back during the L.A. Lit Crawl and thought it was a nice little neighborhood bar. There was a parking lot, which was a great plus, and plenty of room to sit. Granted, it was a Wednesday evening, but the bar filled up for a reading and I still got a seat. There was a small stage set up for a live band, I guess, and it was put to good use for the Lit Crawl. Skinny’s turned into a serviceable theater, with decent acoustics and good visibility from all around the bar. I went to another reading at the Federal Bar after, and there was no point in even trying to listen to that one. Skinny’s was a much better venue for appreciating the arts. I stuck around for a couple drinks. There was Lagunitas IPA on tap, so I had two rounds of that. The bartender was friendly, and service was quick. I could see using Skinny’s as a default lounge if I lived in the area. Nothing too distinctive about it, but easy and pleasant enough.

A basement/cave/hideout feel to this place. It is decked out in Christmas décor now but it is definitely a modern but cozy atmosphere. The stone walls, gigantic mirrors lining the walls, strategically placed gaslight candles, ottmans, couches, wrap around bar give an intimate setting for the stage. I’d love to host an event here.

Skinny’s is the coolest Noho local bar. The new bartender Justin is a cool muthafucker and his drinks are on point! And Kyle(the manager) always has a great attitude. Every night something different is happening. Definitely a gem. I guarantee that you will feel like your in «Cheers» without the 80’s theme music(although they have an 80’s night). So put on some comfy jeans, grab a friend or 4 and just be with Noho’s diverse community.

Eh… been here twice and could go without going again. Ever. It’s either super packed(like for an event) or completely empty in here. There’s no snacks on the menu, and the drinks are pretty pricey. There’s a $ 12 minimum on credit cards, so an $ 8 glass of wine doesn’t cut it. I’ve never even heard of a $ 12 minimum before. Outside it looks sketchy, inside is a little bit nicer. But there’s about 2 tables, some awkward couches and a weird shaped bar. I also feel like the bathroom is dilapidated; the doors don’t have working locks and the seats are always covered in pee. Yuck! The staff tries but there’s no sort of table service, even if there’s only 5 people in the entire bar. Every time I’ve been the experience has missed the mark, and with all the great bars on Lankershim I don’t think this one is worth the time or the price on the bill.
