Drove 60 minutes to get here, walked in at 9:01. Was told kitchen closes at 9. Really? There were only two of us. And we weren’t even greeted. No hi or anything until I said something.

I went to El Camino twice. The food was some of the WORST mexican food I have ever tasted. The margaritas were a 5 on a scale of 1 – 10. The service wasn’t bad. The atmosphere was nice. I do have to say their outdoor patio is great. Good place to go if your looking for a date and a decent margarita. Just make sure you eat before you go there.

I’ve heard great reviews from a lot of people, and I’m very disappointed. When I walked in, the hostesses were on their phones. It took them several moments to realize I was standing there. Once I was seated, the waitress was prompt. After looking through the extensive menu, I decided on beef fajitas. It states on the menu that its $ 1.50 for chip and salsa refills and they charge for tortillas. It seems they charge for every little thing. When the gentlemen brought my food, the fajitas were not sizzling and the tortillas were carelessly stacked on the the meat in foil. He did not bring any of my toppings(guac, pico, and sour cream) or a plate. The waitress corrected that quickly. The meat was in small chunks, not strips like normal. The amount of food is suprising. It could have fed 3 people easily, and I only ordered for one. The meat however was very tough and tasteless, my friend even said it looked unappealing. Our waitress was good but the food was a huge disappointment. Will not return.

Nice spot! I love this place. Fajitas are my fave… I usually ditch the tortilla shells and make a giant salad out of the fajita innards… and compensate the lack of carbohydrate intake by eating my weight in chips and salsa. 5.00 margaritas that are strong enough to make my date look hot. Super reasonable prices. Always packed after 2pm.

If you’re a Caucasian college student or you’re in during the day when it’s slow, you’re going to feel the most welcome and get the BEST service here… That’s all I have to say about that. Well that and on secor there’s a GREAT place with Mexican food right across the street from sonic

Voted best in Toledo 2010 I think this place is still riding that vote… or I wonder if this is the best I fear with the worst would be. The service and staff were very friendly and the ambience was quite lovely but I could not say anything good about any food other than the chips and salsa on the table when we sat down. I ordered the El Tapatio and my chicken breast was so thin it was dry, my chorizo was very dry and gritty. The guacamole was decent though could’ve used a little bit of salt. I certainly had plenty of rice and lettuce and sour cream. The kids meals were grossly overpriced. Most restaurants including my favorite Mexican food place in Cleveland kids meals range around four or $ 4.50 and include a drink. The kids meals here were at least six dollars and drink was not included. My youngest son continued to say the whole time we were going there he wanted eggs and bacon. So I ordered him scrambled eggs and bacon. The scrambled eggs were mushy and quite disgusting and did not resemble eggs at all. There was a skin on the bottom of them so it was pretty obvious they were cooked on to high of a temperature. He received a huge plate full of bacon but all of it was very dry and something akin to what I would feed my dog or throw into another food for bacon-like flavor. Most of my meal I kept putting the salsa for the chips on to it to add some measure of moistness to try and rehydrate the food. I would not call either my wives or my own meal before $ 15 lunch. My children’s meals were definitely not worth the price paid. Even the cheese quesadilla had almost no flavor other than the buttery flavor on the tortilla. We were in a fairly large party so it came back with tip already included which was fine but it was the most disappointing $ 58 meal I’ve ever had. Maybe it was a fluke or a bad day but I can guarantee the next time I’m in Toledo I will not go anywhere near this place

Delish authentic food, family owned by a very kind and ethical businessman. They are constantly improving and good to their customers. Highly recommend.

I think this place survives on it’s reputation. It used to be pretty good, but now… The food is well below average for Toledo. Stacks up poorly to the other«American Mexican» places in town, such as El Vaquero, and doesn’t compare at all to the more authentic places like San Marco. The food here is filling and edible, but it used to be better. The margs are good, but not great; they used to be better. Service is hit or miss; it used to be better. I must admit that the patio is still a pretty cool place to hang out. The crowd is good, but guess what… it used to be better.

Used to visit about once a month. This week the food quality has declined and the service was bad, despite the place being next to empty. I just don’t have patience for bad service when the establishment isn’t busy. Not in a hurry to return.

What the heck is not to love. This is one of my favorite places to slide into when coming to Toledo for a visit. Its always clean and a party atmosphere as soon as the weather breaks. The parking lot is inviting and the sizzling smell of meat on the grill hits once you hit the door. The chicken and shrimp fahita-sans the beef-we ordered, although heavy on the green pepper and onion was good and the margarita is always a nice side. If you ever happen to find yourself on Sylvania and Douglas, theres a mexican fiesta waiting for you there. Enjoy!

This place is not as good as it used to be. After being away from Toledo for a while, I decided to give this place a try as it used to be a favorite. I’ll keep the review short by saying that I think their food is a little bland. The fajitas were a good portion but the chicken itself was not very flavorful. The fried ice cream was not fried. The salsa lacked seasoning. I’m not saying anything was bad. Just lacking flavor. Maybe they’re trying to please too many palates. I fear they are pleasing none. I’ll come back for the patio when it’s warmer.

While visiting some friends in Toledo last weekend, this Mexican restaurant was recommended for it’s fajitas, so we headed there for dinner. There was no wait when we went on a Saturday evening. We got the double meat chicken fajitas, which was EASILY big enough for 4– NOJOKE! When my friend told me that, I have to admit I was pretty skeptical… especially knowing how much my fiancé and I can eat when we are hungry, but this actually took some effort to try and finish! And, who can beat a good dinner like that for around $ 20 for 4 people?! It wasn’t too oily, the meat was cooked right and had a nice flavor. Two big plates of the sides came with the double order, which was a nice addition. The rice was decent, along with the black beans and guacamole. We asked for more shredded lettuce because what we were given was a little skimpy, but there were plenty of corn and flour tortillas to go around! The salsa was pretty good, too! I wouldn’t hesitate to return for more fajitas on my next visit to Toledo and recommend you try it out, too!

in toledo, this is the best Mexican place you will find. now if you are from California, texas or Mexico itself obviously nothing will be good enough for you. we come for lunch, quickly seated, food fast, service great. but if you come Friday and Saturday night you will face delays. anyways, i like this place and never had problems. recommend.

Ok Toledo, this seems to be one of the«hot spots» for Mexican food in the area. I am trying to figure out why though. Here are my observations and then a final conclusion. –The outdoor patio is a great place to relax and socialize when the weather is nice. –The place is usually jam packed. –The food is bland and basic. –I have heard great things about the tableside guacamole. –The food is bland and basic. –The margaritas are fairly strong and seem to be popular. –Did I mention that the food is bland and basic? Final conclusion: Groups of people head out to El Camino to have a drink or two and unwind, visit, etc. After tanking off a few margaritas, most people are bombed and shovel down the food because they are hungry. There is nothing special about many of the dishes. The strategy is to get the patrons liquored up so that they don’t realize that they are eating slop that is reminiscent of dry or soggy cardboard, depending on the dish. Other options to consider: San Marcos for tacos Ventura’s Cajun chicken nachos

Definitely gone downhill in the last couple of years. Portions have shrunk, prices have inflated. Food quality has dropped off significantly. I’ve had better Mexican food from Banquet. Service is atrocious. We sat for extended periods of time waiting for our wait staff to return so we could ask for more drinks. then getting our checks took almost 40 mins. While there was a wait at the door. Our table could have been turned twice with competent serv8ce. Instead 3 hours, 1 check, and one tip reflective of our experience. With so many new Mexican restaurants opening in NW Ohio, I suggest patronizing an establishment that makes an obvious attempt at creating a good dining experience. My favorites: El Nuevo Vallarta Te-ke-la

Either there’s not very many great restaurants in Toledo, Ohio… Or there just ain’t very many Unilocalers. Or both. Went here with my cousins since they have been here a number of times. Natives. From what my cousin told me the white queso that we ordered to eat with the free chips and salsa they provide(always a plus when Mexican Restaurants do this and that’s why they get the 3rd star) use to taste better. I got the Chimichanga, which USETOBE much bigger. The tacos I didn’t try, but the chili relleno with beef was yummy. I never order Chili Rellenos, but I did enjoy the sauce they used; therefore that was the best I tried out of everything. The green hot sauce was really scrumptious too! Mix this with your salsa and you got a kick in there! I enjoy my food spicy, add a jalapeño… and that makes all the difference.

Portions are very nice and food can be a hit or miss depending on the day you go. I agree the outdoor patio is awesome when it is nice out and their margs are strong!
