0 stars !!! PLEASE do not waste your time. This is a money hungry business ! The managers are rude and inconsistent. I spoke the assistant manager John (who I believe made the last review) & he said he would be able to give me a refund.. . I drove 45 minutes just for the GM to tell me I could not receive my refund. John told me that he would make a note of our conversation, but when I got there nobody knew what I was talking about. I explained to the manger I could not receive facials or massages and she still tried to sell me a membership! I was told «sorry John told you that but it’s nothing I can do» I gave them my number to have John give me a call. .. Of course he did not. HORRIBLE BUSINESS !

I went here once on a coupon to give this place a try. I was really hoping as a first time customer they’d take good care of me and give me a good reason to become a member… yeah, not so much!
THE GOOD…
–easy to park (that’s it)
THE BAD…
–I asked for deep tissue and what I got felt like a baby rubbing its fingers on my back
–all they seemed to want to do was sign me up, very pushy
–if I’m gonna pay for a membership I want to go as many times as I choose… too much fine print and blurred lines of membership contract
Overall I’d rather spend $ 60-​$ 80 for a real massage that I want vs a chain who simply wants to make money. No thanks!

Staff was really nice and welcoming, pricing was reasonable, place was clean, and the deep tissue massage was great (by Kara). She listened to what I wanted done and she delivered. I will be going back as I joined as a member.

Things have definitely changed here. The management and front desk used to be very unreasonable and rude. There must have been some changes somewhere because any manager I talk to is more than friendly, and the rest of the staff also has a smile on their face. I love my therapist Cara, but for a while was considering canceling my membership due to clerical issues that kept happening. Mistakes still happen from time to time but they always make up for it! Such a steal for a great massage

Really disappointed with the service here, mostly from front-​of-​house, my massage therapist was sweet and did a fairly good job. I was a member for a year. Halfway through my membership, my massage therapist informed me at the beginning of my massage that the hour long massages I was paying for were now going to be 50 mins, per management. She said «yeah, I don’t really know why they’re doing that.» And asked me initial something to prove that she told me. Canceling my account was a nightmare because they have one person in charge of cancellations who only works part time. I ended up losing money because the cancellation terms weren’t adequately explained and when I spoke to the manager to get help she said «sorry, you’re not a member anymore, I can’t see your payment history, my hands are tied. It’s impossible for me to do anything for you at this point.» Stay away from this place!

Massage Envy has turned a horrible experience into a very positive one. I had complained about my very rude experience with a manager at this location. Massage Envy very quickly reacted and made retribution and much needed management changes. Kudos for recognizing the need and quickly making things right! I’ll be back… I just love my therapist Jackie!

It was fine. Not horrible but not good. Don’t think John is very good. Never even did my shoulders. He is probably new or inexperienced or just not very good. Everyone at desk very nice. Clean. Just fine. Probably won’t go back.

As you can see from the other reviews, the quality of the services is just OK at best. The real problem is their business ethics. Whatever you do, DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT. You will be entering into a deal with Beelzebub. Do yourself a favor, if you choose to go to this (or any) Massage Envy, pay cash and run away after your massage. After numerous phone calls to cancel the service and a block on my credit card, after 15 months, my CC company released the block and M.E. charged me AGAIN!!. I had to completely cancel the credit card. The «Manager» kept insisting that we needed to come in person and fill out a cancellation form before they would stop charging my card. I had to threaten them with a law suit to get them to agree to cancel the subscription. There are plenty of better options for a nice massage. They are not even inexpensive any more. STAY AWAY!

I can’t knock the service, as it’s what you should expect from what I would consider a budget spa. Until my last visit… they have raised their price by over 20%!! $ 118 for an hour massage is unbelievable at a budget spa. You can currently go to Salon in the Vally and get a top of the line massage for $ 80 hr that includes a trip to the Tuscan room (tea, hot tub). Going to Massage Envy in Timonium is like going to the Hair Cuttery and paying a high end salon price. Not sure why they were under the impression they could pull that increase off without backlash…

Update:
I spoke with customer relations person at the location that I visited. She was following up on my survey in which I mentioned my concerns. She was professional and listened to my feedback. She even offered us an incentive to revisit the center.
In response to the ‘owner’s comment’ posted on my previous review, please check your records. I was not contacted several times concerning my service. In any event, a phone call after the fact would not have changed my experience on the day I visited.

Massages were okay until the end. They are SUPER pushy with having you buy their membership and buying retail… After you’ve just relaxed for two hours. I felt like I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. they kept talking and begging and telling me how I needed the membership. Not into it and will not go back. Yikes!

Currently in my second month of membership and I’m very, very pleased with Massage Envy. The hours are ridiculously convenient (a 1.5 hr massage appointment at 8:30 p.m. is the best thing I could ever ask for) and they almost always have openings for times I’m looking for because they’re so well-​staffed. Those at the front desk are always nice and my massages with Caitlin and Andrei were both wonderful. The atmosphere is soothing and comforting – the waiting room has gentle lighting and you can help yourself to tea and water. They also have guest reviews of every therapist there – I love this transparency! I really recommend this place if you’re trying to get on a regular schedule with your massages. Their member prices are excellent.

This was my first experience in a «professional» massage environment. I use the term «professional» loosely. I had the worst, creepiest experience of my life. The gentleman performing my massage keep going on and on how he loved feet. literally would not shut up about my feet or otherwise. I told him I wasnt interested in conversation, but still… feet, feet, feet. I said i wasnt interested in a foot massage, because at this point im beyond freaked out. The entire hour was about feet. I wanted to run screaming from the room. NEVER AGAIN

As a long-​term member, I am consistently happy with my massage and customer service. It helps to go there for awhile, try different therapists, until you find your best fit; until you do, their rates are so affordable I don’t mind if I had a less then perfect massage. I’ve been to too many ritzier places and paid double for worse.
Atmosphere is clean, nicely furnished/​decorated in calming, relaxing colors; customer service is always friendly, prompt, and helpful.
I highly recomend this establishment– all is above board, and it offers solid massage services for those in need of relaxation and/​or relief from minor aches and pains.
