If I can give zero star, I would. The service was horrifying. The lady who served us food was rude and unprofessional. The menu was extremly limited. You would think the limited amount of food on the menu would also mean they spent more time on preping high quality dishes. There were just basic can sodas and bottle water, which mean there is no free water or tea. There are no dessert on the menu what so ever. We asked for the lamb shank and Mandi’s lamb, and was told Madie’s lamp will take hours to cook, and there were only one lamp shank left. So of course my Fiancé had the lamp shank, and I was forced to order the chicken by the waitress because she said the chicken was cooked, and I should order the chicken instead. Personally I don’t enjoy much of being told what I should order. So of course I did not order the chicken. We went to this restaurant based off they offer lamp shank and Mandi’s lamp. I was extremely disappointed. Next, we ordered Dolma, lamp shank, gyro, and lentil soup. Dolma was poorly prepared. The grape leave wasn’t cook fully or clean good enough. There were still dirt on the grape leaf. The lentil soup had way too much cumin. I am a cumin lover, but that was over kill. The lentil soup was also extremly sour, looks like they put way too much lemon juice in their soup. The gyro was only barely«ok» at best. The lamp shank was poorly prepared. They did not trim the fat or some of the skin off the lamp shank, it was also very under seasoned. The rice with the lamp shank looked like some one just mixed the left over rice from the day before. The table were dirty and no one came by to clean it up even after we were seated. Pretty much both me and my Fiancé felt sick to the stomach after had eaten over Mandi’s house, and left wondering maybe we should of just made something at home instead. I would highly recommend anyone who like mediterranian food not to eat there. I would recommend go to Petra House in Vancouver, WA. There service was amazing, food was absolutely delicious, the environment were inviting. Please don’t waste your time and money at Mandi’s house. It will leave you feelinf disgusted.

Usually we love this place, food is always awesome. But the service was terrible this time. 20mins to get a tiny glass of tea and appetizer, no water or refill offered, no napkins, no one asked how the food was, and it was freezing cold in there. Then the delivery truck came and they, along with another car, blocked the exit road. :(Such a shame if this is the new way they run things. We come from Hillsboro just to eat there and expect better.

The owner, Nabil, really is a warm, hospitable guy and makes you feel very welcome. Fantastic chicken and lamb dishes and Marianne and I always feel ready to come back the next day.

The food here is exceptional, the portions always filling, the service great, and the prices cheap. Almost too cheap. Only problem is that it’s tucked in a corner and not enough people can see it.

This is seriously the BEST place for gyros in the whole of Portland. Yeah the place is a little beat up and it’s always deserted; no matter, the food will destroy expectations. Beautiful fluffy pita, a generous layer of tzatziki, and a perfect pickle bite in there just make it the overall package, and the shaved lamb/beef is melt-in-your-mouth. My girlfriend and I are picky jerks about a gyro experience and these guys get it so right that sometimes we even drive from Vancouver to get it. Worth the drive every time!

First time here and based on prior reviews, I ordered my food to go. Good thing! This place looks dank and dark and needs sprucing up big time… anywho…I ordered the hummus and pita and the hummus was extremely bland and too heavy on the olive oil and the pita was actually flat bread, not pita bread, and not good. Don’t think I’ll be back

This little place is a find. We feasted on meza and stewed lamb shoulder. The falafel on the meza platter was truly outstanding, and the portions were very generous. Sure, I noticed the sticky tables, and the 3 star atmosphere, but the food is first-rate. 4 of us left very satisfied for under $ 50 incl. tip.

Awesome kafta kabob and yogurt salad. Really good hummus too. Not sure what a couple of the other reviewers are referring to, it seemed like a clean place to me.

5stars for food. 3stars for the rest of the experience. The décor and service is not bad, it just doesn’t add to the dining experience so I am neutral about it. Quality and taste of food is excellent. The rice is flavorful and aromatic. The lamb shank was excellent.

Too awesome. Too specific. This restaurant rocks it out in so many ways. Care needs to betaken to «sticky situations» on table. The spice was wowed i every dish. More customer service specialty needed

Five stars for being a very authentic Middle Eastern restaurant. The lack of décor makes it even more so. I lived in that region for many years, this is exactly the type of family run eatery I was used to there. It has not been changed and Americanized, which to me ruins the experience of eating exotic dishes. Now if I could just find a Thai restaurant that would do the same… Not all Americans need foreign food watered down! Give me spice!

I don’t know where to begin. Mandi House is too good! It is rare that, in Portland, you enter a restaurant and feel that you are a guest at the home of a gracious host. This is exactly the feeling you get at Mandi House! And when I say«gracious host», I am referring to Nabil. I don’t know other staff by name, but everyone is dedicated to making sure that your experience is pleasurable and that you have everything you want exactly the way you want it. Don’t let the simple décor fool you – the food at Mandi House is nothing less than excellent. If you are accustomed to fancy, let go, so that you can enjoy the simplicity of being transported someplace truly different, someplace authentic. The portions are generous, the salads are fresh, the meats are perfectly seasoned, Middle East style. Mmmmm! Driving Tip: Mandi House is located in a small shopping center at 11535SW Pacific Hwy in Tigard. There is no stop light at that busy corner. What I prefer to do to ensure safety is this: I tell my GPS to take me to Fred Meyers(11565SW Pacific Hwy in Tigard). I turn into the Fred Meyers parking lot and drive straight through to the back. Then, I turn right and right to wind up in front of Mandi House.

I like the dark …5 stars all the way. You want atmosphere and flash go to Applebee’s. This is what a mom and pop restaurant would of looked like if you were in Greece. focusing more on the food then the décor I imagine. food was outstanding.

Not great. Good to okay. The tabbouleh was not good at all. Rice was good, lamb good flavor but a little over cooked. Falafel was good!

Immediate note… ORDERTAKEOUTONLY! Dining in is not pleasant due to the lack of care of the dining room. Sticky tables, no a/c, no décor. Even the service was slow and we were the only ones there. Seems that other customers knew this already as customers were coming in to pick up phone orders. Pita bread was dry so had to drink the iffy-looking water which was not chilled. BUT, by surprise, the rest of our food was absolutely delicious!!! Kafta, hummus, gyros, chicken kabobs. Portions are generous too. Bottom line: order take out, don’t expect much from the pita bread.

I had a hankering for hummus and falafel. The falafel sandwich was good– good portion, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The hummus was missing that punch or zest. It wasn’t bad or gross, just missing something. The gentleman that rang up my order wasn’t particularly friendly or helpful… Actually I don’t think he said a single word to me. I didn’t know my total until I signed the receipt and had to ask if the bag of food on the counter was mine. It was an awkward exchange at best. Overall just«okay». I’ll give this place another chance sometime.

Due to the reviews, I decided to check this place out for lunch. The seasoned beef on flatbread appetizer was good, but the gyros were very disappointing. Yes, they’re about 12 or 13 inches in length, but the fillings were very skim; my lamb gyro had 4 pieces of meat in it. I felt ripped off because I left hungry and ended up making the trek to Gyro House in Aloha.

Authentic, delicious & very friendly service! Why then, not 5 stars? Well, the food and service alone were 5++ stars. As everyone before me said, the place leaves little to be desired in terms of atmosphere and décor. It was clean, but sparse and a bit dark(tall booths block most natural light). However, this becomes so unimportant when you taste the magical food and experience the hospitality. I’ve had ‘middle eastern’ food dozens of times in this country and just as many outside. This is one of the best I’ve had in the US for authenticity and over all quality. The Mezza platter is literally a huge platter of goodness for 2−3+ people easily. 2 of us shared and I should have stopped there. The falafel is moist and the best I have ever had(it often is dry and sawdust like-not this) it’s full of spices with a perfectly crispy exterior, plus dolmas-stuffed grape leaves are filled with creamy rice & exotic spices inside tender grape leaves, the creamy smoky Baba Ganoush, silky tahini hummus and the fresh tabbouleh will leave you stuffed dipping the fresh hot flat bread over and over. We each ordered an entrée(we should have shared). Great value platters. The Kafta(beef) kebabs were huge with incredible moist meat full of more exotic spies, a mountain of perfectly cooked saffron basmati rice, more creamy hummus, a lovely fresh salad with an interesting dressing a little sour, a little sweet, maybe a bit of tamarind. I barely took two bites and had to ask for a box(after the massive mezza). I am not sad that I have dinner for the next two+ nights! My hubby had the lamb shank, he really enjoyed it. You definitely get a powerful, rich lamb shank with the perfect rice and salad. He ate nearly all of his and we both rolled out of there with my left overs and not much out of pocket. The entire meal was $ 35 and it literally could have fed 4 people. I was surprised at the quality and incredible spices-so exotic, but so comforting and intriguing at the same time. The gentleman who served us was probably the owner. He was kind, engaging and was truly invested in you enjoying the food, for which we did! Highly recommend. If you don’t like the décor you are really short changing yourself. We will be back!

The categorization ’ american’ is not even close. This is Mediterranean cuisine through and through. Being next door to a mediterranean deli shouldn’t come as a great surprise. On a quest to try something new and different, the wife and I decided to give it a try. Finding it is the first challenge as there was no signage on the pacific highway to give us a clue. Perhaps they keep a low profile on purpose? My wife had a Gyro and Lentil Soup, I had the spiced beef flatbread appetizer and a sandwich. The food was very tasty, the prices are good and the portions are large. Next time my wife and I will split one of the platters, it looks like enough food for both of us. The proprietor goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable and made sure we had what we needed. We’ll be going back. I think you will enjoy it if you are up for just a little adventure(or more)/
