I went to Dr. Simoni because of a severe case of reflux(GERD), as well as gastritis and I was interested in knowing about the surgery that he was performing called TIF. I will say that he started out nice and helpful enough. However, I had my reservations after doing more research and would in the end would not have done that procedure, once I learned about it not being reversible and the scar tissue it creates. However, I would have liked to still get help with my condition either way. This where it gets just completely strange and goes completely against the Hippocratic oath he was supposed to be upholding as a physician. After I took one of the prerequisite tests to see if I was a candidate, I was given a call by his staff letting me know that I would not be eligible for the surgery. When I said to the staff member that I appreciate the info and when I can I go over the test results with Dr. Simoni, she said there was no need to do so, since I wasn’t a candidate for the surgery. I then told her I still had the condition(verified by an Esophogram and Endoscopy) and asked for Dr. Simoni to give me a call and let me know what the next steps would be, she said she would, but he never called me back. I even placed a follow-up call to Dr. SImoni, with no response back. I had seen someone post a similar review, but thought it must be an exaggeration. Now I see that if anything, it was an understatement! On another note, when I was reading more about the TIF procedure, I kept finding more problems than help it had given people. For one thing, it is not reversible(good in case should something goes wrong) and you are putting staples in the esophagus, instead of doing something reversible and less traumatic surgery like the magnetic Linx treatment. Thankfully, so far I have been able to avoid surgery anyway with good quality treatment from the much better and more caring physicians I went to after this debacle.

I was suffering with IBM and pain. I called this facility and brought my records to them. They called back later in the day stating they would not help me, and I should go back to my surgeon at Ceders. My Surgeon had told me that after care would come from GI Drs. This facility showed no compassion for someone suffering and needing help. I would never recommend this facility to anyone needing help. No Doctor should refuse a person suffering and needing help.
