Went for breakfast this morning to use up a gift card that I got for Christmas. Overall the experience was not horrible. I wasn’t exactly expecting to be blown away though being that this is a chain restaurant and all. CONS– Let’s get the bad out of the way first… *The waitress that we had appeared to hate her job, a common theme among chain restaurant servers. She came off to be very unfriendly and definitely make us feel welcomed. Also, she forgot to bring my bisquits. *The menu kind of sucks here! No waffles, no omelettes, no egg bennedicts, no corned beef hash. If there’s a place is expect to be able to get some Chicken & Waffles this is the place! And WHY does every meal come with bisquits, grits, and fried apples or hashbrown casserole? PROS– *The food was decent! Not amazing but it did the trick. The pancakes are pretty tasty. Have those nice crispy edges that I’ve come to love. *100% Real maple syrup! Gotta love real maple syrup! It comes in a single serving sealed bottle reminiscent of a «nip» *Table games are a huge plus especially for people like me with kids. It kept them pretty occupied and our food was on the way after a couple rounds of that triangle peg board game. *The country store is pretty cool. I didn’t find anything that I wanted to buy but it was fun to browse around after finishing our food. *The restaurant has a very cool atmosphere with tons of antiques on the walls and mantle of the huge fireplace. It was fun explaining to my kids what some of these relics were. I had a nice time here! I’ll most likely make a trip back here to try out their dinner menu.

30+ minute wait(10:30 am on a mid week day) to have my order taken until the the food arrived. My food arrived to the table lukewarm at best and not what I had ordered(and over a dollar more to boot). No refill on beverage. Basically nothing remotely good to say about the experience… Nothing!

This is my favorite breakfast place! The food is always delicious and they give you soo much food for a reasonable price! The service at this one isn’t great; the wait staff seems to hate their job and are very open to admit it. Doesn’t mind me since the food is so good though. There always seems to be a wait but the country store helps make the time go by. Lots of old fashion candy you don’t see anywhere anymore! I recommend the mamas French toast! My favorite!

I love this place. I had never been to one or ever even seen one until I moved to Tewksbury. Great food with even better prices

Yesterday being. «National Backwards Day» I had the idea to have breakfast in the evening. The thought had me researching a restaurant that would serve a group of us breakfast on a Sunday evening. The Cracker Barrel came to mind. The only negative to our experience yesterday was the policy that they would not seat us until our entire party if 6 arrived. While waiting of course, you have the pleasure of shopping the store side where they hope you will make a purchase. Or„ playing checkers out on the porch. We were finally seated — all 5 of us at a large table. Within seconds we were given menus. Our server Bret was wonderful. When asked if he would provide separate checks, he obliged. He took our orders with great care. Next came warm mugs & lots of delicious hot coffee, satisfying any of our late in the day need for caffeine. The wait for our breakfast meals wasn’t terribly long. Four out of five ordered pancakes in some flavor. My choice was pecan. I was served three reasonably large ones loaded with mostly whole ones, a large dollop of butter, and an individual bottle of real maple syrup. I had also ordered 2 scrambled eggs. My other diners had various breakfast meats with their pancakes. Our server was again very attentive, making sure to ask if we needed anything else, and refilling our coffee. All five of us absolutely enjoyed what was served to us. Not one complaint. I’ll be honest that I eat out often with groups of people. & this almost never happens! I would definitely return to this restaurant. Maybe not on a busy weekend morning with a long wait. Id go like I did last night when it isn’t so crowded. And I know exactly what to order : —)

Average Cracker Barrel. Wasn’t too busy on a Monday night and we were seated right away. The portions were average for cracker barrel.

We are one of three tables that has people. Rob, our waiter has just the two of us at the table. The other two are covered. He dropped the food off and we have say, finished with our meals, empty glasses. The food was good but it would have been very nice had he checked back once!!! We will be back but will hopefully get a server who actually checks back!!!

I had not been to Cracker Barrel in a long time. Not since I lived in Florida and every Cracker Barrel was always jampacked full. I can’t say the same for this location. My waitress was super sweet and attentive but how could she not be, the place was dead. I ordered the country fried chicken, mashed potatoes, whole kernel corn and The cucumber tomato and onion salad. The veggie salad was the best part of the whole meal LOL the fried chicken was so so the gravy taste like smoke from a fire, not my favorite. The mashed potatoes were lukewarm at best not even hot enough to melt butter on them. Now I know why it’s been so long since I have returned. If you’re looking for cheap decent food then this would be the place for you. Not sure I’ll be returning anytime soon!

We absolutely love the country store, the games on the tables and the home cooked comfort food. Definitely a great place to go with family and friends. The food is great and very affordable.

I know Cracker Barrel is a chain but it feels pretty authentic. I’ve visited Texas many times — the décor and employees remind me of the South. Although, it seems some of the employees are faking a Southern accent but that adds to the quirkiness. The décor is COUNTRY — rocking chairs, farming tools hung from the ceiling, vintage artwork on the walls and the fire place. I love the store — great area to browse as you’re waiting to be seated. The ambience is five stars but let’s talk about the food. Our server was friendly and helpful but the service was slow. We waited over 30 minutes for our food and when the food came out, they mixed up our orders. We were slightly annoyed but it’s hard to be an angry when our server was kind. We did enjoy our food from the breakfast menu — pancakes, biscuits, hashbrowns and bacon were perfection. Pancakes could possibly be the best I’ve ever had. I wasn’t a fan of their french toast — too much berry syrup. Steak was dry and tough. Everything was reasonably priced and affordable. Cracker Barrel is worthy of five stars but they need to work on their slow service. Food is almost perfect. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to try but I’d def be back.

Went yesterday for breakfast. Food was average. Prices were good. After having our meal. Check comes i put my card on it and wait. Server comes over and thinks she made a mistake on bills. She checks it and returns it. Still waiting. My Gf and daughter get up to look around the store. I finally get up and ask the manager if i can pay now. He informs me that you pay in the store. Something i think the server should have told us.

So good here! The biscuits are really yummy and the meal I had was very good. The service is really good and the waiter we had was friendly and attentive. They also have a gift shop that sells really cool stuff! You should come here! I definitely recommend it.

Quick! Don’t walk! Run out there to try the ‘Peppermill Steak n’ Egg Skillet’. Amazing! Steak tips, eggs, mushrooms, peppers, cheese, and a side of grits with gravy. Yummy! Our server(Luciana) was outstanding! Once again great bang for the buck this place! Good place to meet with friend, talk, eat, not getting pressured to pack up and leave after your meal is done. I love this place!

Service here is pretty horrendous. I’ve been twice in the past year. First time, the meal that I ordered was missing a few of the components as described on the menu. I asked the waitress if I could get them, and she proceeded to argue with me that the meal I was describing wasn’t on the menu… until I asked her to bring me a menu and pointed it out to her. More recently, I had dinner here with my wife and parents — all four of us ordered food. When everyone else’s dinner arrived, the waitress looked at me and asked if I’d also ordered something… she eventually brought me something that wasn’t what I’d originally ordered. At that point, I didn’t care. Your website says your«sole mission is pleasing people.» You’re failing. Badly.

Love Cracker Barrel. Server was very good. She was very apologetic about the lack of corn bread. She brought two biscuits disguised as hockey pucks! Could not eat. The turkey dinner was fine, excellent dressing but a lil light handed on the gravy! Cranberry sauce was a nice touch. I ordered milk and one of the cartons was spoiled… I almost spit a mouthful into the fireplace.!! Check expiration dates! Now I’m off milk for awhile. Not a great dinner but the service was great and I got a Clark bar on the way out! Always a fan. I’ll be back!

It pains me to see how poor this establishment is. When I was younger, I would travel throughout the U.S. and we would hit every single Cracker Barrel on our road trips. Let’s start from the top. While waiting in a brief line to be seated, two employees were loudly gossiping and making less than becoming faces about another employee. So unprofessional. We were seated quickly to a table that was filthy. Rolled up, dirty napkins on the floor, crumbs everywhere, and even a pack of crayons scattered in the floor. The table was sticky. We waited for a few minutes and our waitress moved us after I pointed out how filthy the table was. She was embarrassed. The food wasn’t terribly awful, but it was bland, tired, and lacked flavor. I ate quickly and in silence, just wanting to hurry up and go home. What really put the nail on the coffin for me was the gift shop. A very, very elderly man was looking at candy to buy and had many questions about the price and where to go to purchase it. The woman, and I use the term«woman» loosely, was so blatantly rude, inpatient and condescending to this poor old gentleman who was most likely at least 90 years old. Cracker Barrel was a family tradition in my family for many years. Aside from the filthy tables and lackluster food, the disrespect and ignorance that poor older gentleman faced made me sick, and I will never return! I do not have a history of writing negative reviews– check my other reviews if you wish. This experience at Cracker Barrel was such an abomination, that I felt compelled to share.

First time ever at this Cracker Barrel in Tewsburry, went with a bunch of friends for Elia’s birthday, went with Carrie, Bill, Nina, myself, and of course Elia. Food is excellent, I ordered 3 buttermilk pancakes with scrambles eggs and turkey bacon, with a cup of coffee. Pancakes were cooked just right, golden brown, not burt at all, scrambled eggs were fresh, cracked eggs made to order, turkey bacon was chewy and crispy. Carrie got the open face roast beef sandwich with steak fries, beef was very tender and fries were crispy. Elia, the birthday girl got 3 pancakes which she enjoyed very much. Our server Ronald H did a very good job in taking care of our table, he took our drink order first, served the drinks, then took the main meal order. After he took the order, he brought out table biscutts and corn muffins before our main meal was served. Our late lunch or brunch did come out on time, Ronald did check back to make sure everything was fine with our meal, which it was. Last everybody did take some of there food home, no one wanted dessert because we were full. I did tip ronald very well 22 percent gratuity because of his outstanding service, I’m sure I will return again in the future.

Pancakes. Served all day. This is what heaven is like. Seriously, I love places that know what’s up. Cheap food, served quickly by friendly staff. Is it gourmet? Of course not. Is it filling, you bet. I love the décor. It makes you feel like you’ve traveled back in time. Popsicle signs, advertising brands you’ve never heard of for a nickel? Adorable. Old fashioned games, which describe you as dumb if you can’t complete them — bonus, on every table. So much fun. The shop is quaint, if not overpriced. And I could do without the creapy rocking chairs lined up outside. Otherwise, yay, later night breakfast.

This is my first time at Cracker Barrel and I must say I was pleasantly surprised on how good my meal was. It was very country =) I ordered Grandpas Country Breakfast with Country Fried Chicken. This is huge! It came with the country fried chicken topped with gravy, hashbrown casserole(4 stars on its own)-MUST HAVE for sure, 2 eggs(cooked any style), grits and 4 delicious biscuits all for $ 8! You can’t beat that! Positive: you MUSTHAVE the fried apples and apple butter sauce on EVERYTHING!!! this place has plenty of seating, fair amount of items in their menu, friendly staff, huge store to buy country stuff(sorry I’m not in to country stuff so I really don’t know what they were selling), the wait was fair, lots of parking, fresh AND super tasty food, affordable— what else can you ask for? Negative: not much here… Just don’t come here if you’re on a diet. Enjoy!!!
