I go there for the lunch specials. It is plenty of food for the price. The salad that comes along with the meal is delicious.

I love this place! I always order the Hawaiian bbq chicken with 2 scoops of macaroni and 2 scoops of rice instead of the usual(2 scoops rice, 1 scoop macaroni, salad). Dip everything with some teriyaki sauce and WOW!!! the portion is huge, the meat quality is good and the macaroni is addicting — so how can you not give them 5 stars!

First, I would like to thank the cashier who rang up my order last night. We had a great dinner and we were quite happy. Today, that happiness was quickly extinguished when I returned tonight to order the same thing. I don’t see how it’s my fault that a new cashier made a mistake and sold me 2 a la carte items last night. Customers shouldn’t have to be forced to order an entire meal because I just want to order a side of meat. Tonight’s cashier tried to cover for his co-workers mistake. She shouldn’t have to punished because she wasn’t trained properly by a supervisor who is able to adequately explain how to process orders. Also, if a cashier doesn’t understand they typically ask their closest coworker for assistance. I’m not going to cry over this too much because their idea of customer service at the Temple City location is greatly lacking. Many customers including myself were forced to wait and watch people who ordered after us, get their meals first. I suppose that the cook staff had to first go and kill our food first before they prepped the meat and grilled it. #straightgarbage

I really like Ono’s. I think they are better than L&L if you compare it for the basics — chicken/beef, macaroni salad, and rice. The macaroni salad is always on point. There is cabbage in the plate, which I never cared for and the rice is well made. As for the meats, the BBQ chicken is a really good choice. I never add any teriyaki sauce on it because its juicy by itself. The chicken is also never dry and itself tastes really good. And, it’s incredibly consistent every time I visit. If you can’t finish a normal plate lunch, try getting a mini meal, which has a little less meat and one less scoop of rice. Even if you can’t finish it and you can save it, then definitely get the plate lunch. It’s way more food for only about $ 1.30 more. There is some wait during lunch and dinner time but I’ve never had to wait more than 10 minutes to get my food. If you are just getting it to-go, it might be helpful to call ahead and place an order. The parking lot has some of the most narrow spaces ever! Be careful of big cars who might bang into your car when they open their doors. That being said, there is a decent amount of parking around. I’ll be coming back for more BBQ Chicken.

I love Ono Hawaiian BBQ. I wish there was one in the Covina area, but sadly there is not so when I’m around this side of town and in the mood for a quick sort of Hawaiian meal I come here. The food itself is rather simple and not the worlds best, but for fast food its something different than your tacos and hamburgers and a hell of a lot better tasting and better for you. Their menu has grown over the years so you have more choices than ever before so their should be something for everybody but as you can see in the pictures most people stick to the chicken, beef, or mixed seafood. I myself love their Fire Chicken and spam musubi. If your trying to eat healthy, you can moderately do so here, just stick to the grilled chicken and ask for more cabbage instead of rice and macaroni salad. I’m trying to eat healthier so I skipped the rice and macaroni salad and ate fire chicken with their Island salad which was very good. I took away a star because I feel that their prices are a bit too high, they don’t promote their mini meals which is more than enough food for anyone and parking is an absolute nightmare. Their regular menu items offer enough food for two, so you can either split, take some home or order a mini meal. If your going to eat here you’ll need lots of patience for finding parking. Most of the spots are way to small and this being in a majority Asian shopping center you can only imagine the horrible parking the people here do. #5 of 100

ONO never fails! Plus it’s close to home, it’s just a drive away. I will only order the chicken katsu meal. Chicken is well seasoned, mac salad is creamy, and rice is rice! The portion is just the right amount.

Yay! I’m a fan =) I love Hawaiian BBQ and it’s the closest to my fiancé’s place. You can’t go wrong with any of the dishes. The food is always fresh and warm. My only dismay is it can take a while to get your food. I always suggest to call ahead and pick up your food. This location gets pretty busy and you can wait a while. I always only seem to see one girl at the register and one cook, that might be the reason for the delays. Nonetheless, its Hawaiian fast food. And if you do decide to eat-in, the store is very clean, which is always a plus.

4 stars because I am a fan of Ono. That’s all. Came here with my boyfriend on Friday around 5:30PM. It was slow of course, I just don’t like the fact that they keep staring and waiting for you to decide on your order. Anyway. We ordered 3 items. Spam Musubi — I don’t like the rice. The seaweed was good though and so as the spam. But the rice, it’s so bland. I would eat the spam musubi without the rice. That’s how much I dislike it. Sorry, but I had better spam musubi at Ono. BBQ& Katsu Mix — Way too much cabbage. Felt kinda disappointed. I mean don’t get me wrong, I like veggies. But it be much more better if you put out other different veggies than just plain raw cabbage. Hawaii BBQ Mix — It’s almost the same thing as the BBQ& Katsu Mix. The only difference is the ribs. And I think this is like $ 2.00 more LOL so I can’t say it’s worth it. The water was like self serve so I can’t say much about the customer service beside the part where they take our money when we were paying for the food.

Just a found a hair in my macaroni salad. Lost my appetite after that. Food is good, but now I feel uneasy because of the hair.

Came in a didn’t really know what to get but ended up getting the Aloha plate with 2(you can choose 2 different meats) it comes with steamed cabbage(I could do without and won’t get next time), 2 scoops and 1 scoop Mac. I picked kula pork and chicken katsu. I won’t get the kula pork any more because it’s too salty. Chicken katsu with teriyaki sauce is so yummy! Also got a side of spam musubi(just like in Hawaii!) Will come again. soon! All for less than $ 15

10+ years later and this place is still serving decent«Hawaiian» food. They weren’t busy but there were people eating inside and its still clean looking and clean feeling(most importantly). I ordered the small sized meal of chicken katsu with one scoop of macaroni and 1 scoop of rice over steamed/boiled cabbage. It is a lot of food for the price $ 6 – 8! I barely finished. It is a carby meal FYI, but worth every bite. Thanks to the other Unilocalers! I was going to pass up this place again because the regular portions are way too big(and I don’t like left over katsu) but now that I know they have a mini-meal its a viable food option in the future.

You can never go wrong coming to Ono for authentic Hawaiian food with a twist of fast food. They give you big portions and one combo can feed me 2 meals! The meal is served fresh and the meat is hot! Although it’s considered fast food, I think it’s still healthier than the other burger fast food joints. The food here isn’t fried. I always order the spam musubi. It comes with 2 pieces per order. Just one order is enough portion for one meal. They give you a decent spam along with rice. They do add teriyaki sauce so it’s a right blend of sweet and saltiness. The BBQ chicken plate comes with rice, cabbage, 2 scoops of rice, and one scoop of macaroni. It’s almost $ 8 and so worth the price with the amount of food they give you. The teriyaki sauce is so good here. I dip my spam musubi for extra flavor. Goes well with the BBQ chicken too. This location is clean and have plenty of room for you to dine in. There is plenty of parking outside Tip: you can call in 5 – 10 mins prior to arriving and food will be ready for you! Enjoy!!!

I LOVEONO! :) I always order either their spam musubi or their chicken katsu curry. If you’re planning on getting chicken katsu, definitely upgrade, pay the 50 cents, and get the curry! Oooh their teriyaki sauce is also bomb. :D And if you get a plate, ask them to replace your veggies with rice or mac if you don’t like veggies! You can also customize how much rice and mac you want(for free), but if you don’t ask, they’lll give you 2 scoops of rice and 1 scoop of mac.

Ono Hawaiian BBQ always hits the spot when I’m craving Hawaiian food! My go to order is their chicken katsu! I absolutely love it! Their macaroni salad is addicting. The Katsu sauce pairs super well with the chicken. add a little red hot sauce for an extra kick! Overall, good food and nice service at this location. I enjoy the fact that their food is consistently good at every location I go to. Service is another story, but who cares. their chicken Katsu rocks!

My Godson loves Spam. I mean, really loves Spam. He’ll sometimes eat that with rice all day long. So when I’m babysitting and I need to get him something to eat, I run here and pick him up two or «TWEE»(as he says) Spam Musubi’s and he’s a happy camper. Look, it’s greasy, tasty, and cheap and they have that guava drink you can find in Hawaii. Plus, they’re super quick at the counter and we’re out of there when I call in an order in about 5 minutes flat. That’s all I really ask for in Hawaiian BBQ.

When we are craving Hawaiian food, Ono Ono is one of the two places semi close to our area. You can’t go wrong with the BBQ chicken or the beef. They do tend to be cooked on the greasy side though(I think all Hawaiian BBQ is though). The curry chicken isn’t too soupy like Asian curry is, but it’s not a bad choice! Here are some handy pro tips: –They always have coupons in the circulars! — You can substitute rice with macaroni or more cabbage. — The«mini bowl» is actually a good portion for a regular person to have a full meal. Parking can be a little congested because this once slow complex has new restaurants open(Chipotle, some Korean place, a New Chinese place, etc). Unilocal 100 Challenge — 4 of 100

The only fast food Hawaiian bbq I know. Dunno how people can give it 3 stars with no real index to compare it to. My only quip is that the meal costs close to 10 bucks. I was born in the 70 so I remember 5 dollar meals. 10 seems outrageous. But I temper those thoughts with the large portion size. For many of you it can be two meals. This plaza has tons of parking so never any worries.

We picked up a couple of party platter sized trays for the NYE party. My friend pre-paid for some chicken katsu and bbq beef. The workers here are very nice. The 2 ladies after some initial confusion regarding pre-payment were totally helpful & friendly. The bbq beef we’ve had before and was super tasty. They always marinate it well. The katsu was also very good. Great crunch. Not too much panko on it. It was just right… They were both big hits at the party. This Ono has a good sized space. More square footage than your average L&L or other Hawaiian joints. It’s located in a plaza with Daisan, a tea shop and other merchants. Plenty of parking.
