Great place to eat, portions are good, service great. The only problem not much on upkeep. Tables worn, carpets filthy.

Hands down BEST biscuits and gravy that I have ever had! Seriously, the best! Everything else that have had is also good. The wait times can be a little frustrating but when you have biscuits and gravy this good it only makes sense. Did I say how much I loved the biscuits and gravy?!

I really love the food and the service! This place is great. Reason for 3 stars: The lobby area is very frustrating and confusing. Incoming guests do not know who to speak to be seated during peak hours. The line/crowd that forms for folks trying to pay turns away more than a few. A more traditional system of the wait staff handling the check and payment could really smooth out your lobby/gift shop/bakery area.

Best breakfast in town. Definitely worth the wait time. My favorite is the Popeye’s Benedict with hash browns with my perfect cup of coffee. The California Omelette is also very good. Ask for the carrot raisin muffin on the side. It’s a great way to start your weekend.

Hubby and I came for brunch. I ordered the Penfolds omelette w/hash browns and biscuits and gravy. Everything was cooking perfectly and tasted phenomenal. I had the mocha latte, my waitress did a fabulous job with it. My husband had the huevos rancheros. He said it was amazing. Service was good, even while it was busy. We didn’t wait long to get a table, either. We’ll be back for sure!

Penfolds was very busy on this Saturday morning. Unfortunately my review on what we ordered is less than satisfactory on a $ 27+ tab. My wife ordered the Big cinnamon bun french toast. She chose the hash brown over fresh fruits, which puzzled me but there’s always a method to her madness. Very gummy texture that we both didn’t like. If you don’t mind gummy –and super sweet– than go for it. I ordered the waffle combo w/extra crispy bacon. The waffle was too airy for my liking. Took a bite an in two chews it was gone. Huh !!! Gone … Ya know what I mean? Guess I prefer my waffles on the cake-ish texture side with a light crisp to it. Flavor was just okay. Bacon only looked crisp but was chewy … Ya know what I mean??? Chewy with no smokey-sweet flavor … Ya Know what I mean??? Just … salty. My over easy was cooked to med. Remember wife’s hash brown??? Uh huh, my eggs got nicked an she enjoyed it w/her hash browns. We love us some pancakes. Usually we share off each other’s plate of pancakes. However she refused to budge off her cinna-bun french toast(karma at breakfast) and ordered a short stack($ 6.95) As you can tell by the picture of the pancake, it looked good but I couldn’t even cut thru it. Definitely wasn’t like buttah! Rubbery texture and instant mix taste. Please remember, it’s all relative. Place was packed so others seem to like Penfolds, could be we ordered the wrong thing(s). Coffee and iced tea were … Meh… Ya know what I mean?

We Unilocaled a place for breakfast and came here. It was pretty busy. Our waiter was Kaitlyn. She took our orders promptly and served us our beverages. My wife had the Pecan Waffle and I had the Italian Omelette(Uncle Lenny’s Favorite). I have to say that the food was great. The omelette was big. It had a bunch of Italian sausage, mozzarella cheese and a flavorful italian marinara sauce. The toast was a little dark for my taste — but good nonetheless. My wife’s waffle was loaded with ground up pecans, and piled with more pecans, and a big scoop of butter. Both meals were delicious and too much for us too finish(rare for me). The service was okay, not great. It started off good, but dropped off after the food was delivered. The restaurant was very clean. The restrooms were clean and fresh smelling. I am a fan and will probably be back next time i am in Temecula.

This is a good place to go for your café breakfast experience. The service is good but the food is above average not the best but we wouldn’t mind coming back to try again.

Arrived at the location and had about three waitresses pass my daughter and I. We were standing and there just looking around it seen like we were invisible. There was no one else waiting just us. As I was looking around waiting for at least someone to greet us I saw what looked to be the manager showing a waitress something on her phone and just glares directed to my daughter and I. I finally asked a waitress if I just seated myself or does someone have to. She said«I guess I could seat you.» She looked around as not to know where to seat us. I looked around and I could see why. I have never played the race card before but I just felt I might have to this time. I did not feel welcome at all. After being there about ten minutes I tod the waitress not to worry about figuring out where to seat is because we were leaving. It was a shame because the place did look like it had a great menu and the interior liked great. In the end I would not come back here and would like bring my family. It’s a shame, really was looking forward to eating there.

Wanted a good breakfast before wine tasting. This place was highly rated and didn’t disappoint. We walked in and were seated right away. The staff was friendly and the food was plentiful and delicious. Price was good too, $ 10.49 for each meal, I had the Cowboy Benedict. It was fantastic. Overall great experience.

Quirky with a side of strange. I imagine they put an ad on Craigslist for child decorator’s and picked the youngest one. Then they blindfolded him or her and said«begin!» Toys, charming and scary lined the walls. It did bring back memories of my childhood, some of which I didn’t need to uncover, especially when just waking up and needing to break a fast. The one cool thing is there are games you can play while waiting for your food. Speaking of food. The menu is riddled with omelettes. Large eye popping pancake choices and some of the tried and true favorites, like hash browns. I had a chilli omelette with hash browns. Good, but come with a warning, do not operate heavy machinery after eating. Bring a pillow with you because you will need a nap. The portions are large and in charge. If you can try and ignore the adolescent décor this is a great place to get a large and relatively priced breakfast.

Dear Penfolds I have loved and raved about your restaurant for years. I stop there every chance I get. We were in Temecula this past weekend and decided to swing by and pick up some Buffalo wings and one of your famous blueberry muffins. Most regulars will tell you Sundays at 10 – 12 is the worst time to go, since you will be waiting 45 minutes for a table. Which in would have said was well worth it. Unfortunately, when I brought my wings home I found plastic wrapped around one of my wings. It had been cooked into it! The muffin which I had been mentally savoring for days was a great dissapointment. I believe in helping mom and pop shops, but once a mom and pop restaurant starts giving you anything, but their best it may be time to look for something new. Penfolds staff please don’t ruin a good restaurant. Be cautious in how you prepare food and how you treat customers when they call or walk in threw the door. Good food and great customer service is what keeps shops and restaurants like yours running.

We had heard friends talk good things about Penfold’s so we decided to give it a try. This place is your good old American diner, it reminded me of my childhood. I really enjoyed looking at all there collectibles on display around the restaurant, including there Bob’s Big Boy statue. I ordered the New York steak and eggs with biscuit and gravy. The plates are served well I couldn’t finish my food. The steak was really good and tender. My wife ordered the Huevos Rancheros, it wasn’t the best we tried, it was mediocre. The corn tortilla that is served under the egg for Huevos Rancheros tasted like it wasn’t cooked before placing on the plate. The tomato sauce that they put on the egg tasted like it came out of a can, just my opinion. The customer service was exceptional the waitresses were really nice and courteous. They came by the table to ask of we needed anything and to refill our drinks. I will definitely visit again to try other plates.

Met a friend here for a quick breakfast bite. Wow! The French toast cinnamon roll was out of control. I ate about a ¼ of it! Came with some fruit, which I could barely even touch. I highly recommend it but it should be shared.

A very busy and popular restaurant in Temecula. They have great omlet’s and pancakes and other items full of sugar and bad for a diabetic !! There is often a wait on the weekends so plan on getting there early unless you like to stand around for a while watching others eat. Worth your wait however and staff efficient and friendly. Off street parking but you may have to hunt for a parking place as the place is very popular and busy, especially on the weekend

We came to Penfold’s on our way home from a weekend in Temecula. It’s just before the Old Town Temecula area. I like that they have a dog friendly patio and serve a wide variety of breakfast and brunch items. I got the traditional French toast, which was delicious. A classic and always delicious. The staff was super friendly and attentive even though we sat in the patio. The tables outside had a brain teaser game that patrons can play. Overall this is a good restaurant to bring your family to if you are visiting Temecula. Unilocal 100 Challenge — 85 of 100

Came here for a wine tasting and asked some locals and they said this was THE breakfast place! No wait, fast service, reasonable prices, and awesome food! At our table we got the pen folds omelette which has all the great meats in it cheese and sausage gravy on top, it was delicious! We also got the cowboy Benny which is some of the best biscuits ever, topped with sausage patty, scrambled eggs, and smothered in country gravy. I personally got this and was in heaven! We got the massive cinnamon roll French toast to share and WOW! This was above all expectations, too sweet to eat the whole thing but holy smokes it was great!

Penfold’s is my favorite diner in town to get breakfast. Though it’s not so obvious to spot for first-timers, the location is still convenient off of the I-15 Rancho California exit and right on the north end of Old Town Temecula if you’re passing through. There is a shared lot and ample street parking along the business. The inside is what you’d expect of a classic diner, but less tacky. With the wall décor and memorabilia, the color scheme and neon lights are soft and inviting to the eye. There are booths, tables, counter, and patio seating. Don’t be deterred by the crowds. All the times I’ve come in, I’ve never had to wait long to be seated. Plus, the food is great. All of my meals here have been good; they have some of the most delicious pancakes with maple syrup and their bacon is perfectly cooked alongside them. I always keep the orders simple because they do the basics so well. The person who dined with me on my last visit agrees about the bacon and pancakes. The hash browns are pretty good too, eggs are standard. The only issue I’ve come across was a broken espresso machine so they only served house coffee that day, which was fine. The staff are always really nice and attentive with orders and refills. Give it a try if you happen to be in the area! Pro tip: In the earlier hours of the day, they have lower priced breakfast specials!
