Super busy but worth a very short wait! Burrito portion was enough for two and the eggs Benedict was delicious! Also, homemade cinnamon rolls were fresh, hot and so good. Highly recommend this diner for breakfast and the vanilla chai. Eat up before you head to the slopes!

What’s that you say? You’re hankering for a breakfast burrito the size of your head? Well hot damn, you’ve come to the right place! Stuff to the gills with beans, breakfast potatoes, eggs, and bacon, it’s then smothered in cheese and(duh) green chile sauce. It’ll keep you sated clear through lunch… if you can even finish it. The sriracha mayo on the chick biscuit is fantastic, as is the biscuit. For the price, you’d think it’d be a small sammich, but oh no. It made me look like I was coming off a month-long fast when I ordered both it AND a cinnamon roll. Luckily I have no shame, and dug into both with pride. I’m sure the glances in my direction were out of jealousy.

We drove into town from Red River for some brunch and I got the delicious Papas y Huevos! The green sauce makes it! The organic coffee is wonderful! Service was fast and friendly! Love the small town atmosphere. And love the paintings on the wall! Beautiful artwork! Tasty food! Love this diner! Definitely stop by!!!

This place was perfect for Sunday brunch! We were visiting Taos en route to Colorado and stopped in for a bite before we hit the road. I loved the vibe immediately(especially the«free gluten» sign on the front door) and thought the servers were quick and friendly. We ordered the huevos rancheros and the southwestern breakfast, both of which we loved because of the fantastic green chili sauce. I wish we could take a tub of that stuff home with us! We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Taos.

This is a total local spot, and it is definitely authentic. We got the huevos rancheros, a breakfast burrito, and a bowl of fruit — we were not particularly excited about any of it. It was bustling and the atmosphere was great, but for food, I’d go to one of any number of other fabulous places in town.

We had breakfast here twice on our recent Taos visit. Everything is delicious and fresh. The biscuits and gravy are so good and hearty. The green and red sauces are flavorful and addictive. This will be my new go to for breakfast in Taos. It seemed like the locals go there and that’s what I want in a breakfast place.

From the cool vibe to the authentic New Mexico aromas that greet you when you open the door accompanied by delicious food and prompt service, this place is full on five stars. Went with my family and had a unique Eggs Benedict atop turkey, avocado swimming in red and green chile sauce next to crispy home fries that were as good as it gets. Found them on Unilocal and happy to report it was a great choice. Local original art cover the walls and the entire experience was excellent!

This was our final meal in New Mexico, ending a 3 night camping excursion. I had an omelet that came with one of the most beautiful fruit bowls I have seen from a diner. It came with bananas, blackberries, apples and oranges. I was impressed by this. The light and fluffy omelet was cooked perfectly. I got the smaller size which was perfect for me, who actually east big portions. The larger size would feed 2 people. I had a dopio espresso(which I had to explain what it was to the server) that had great flavor. I felt like somewhat of a snob calling it a dopio, but what can I say? Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meals as well. Clean plates, I would come back for sure.

This place was delicious! We loved the Chalres Breakfast burrito. Their sauces were on point. Good service and a great place to take our 6mo old son too. Next time we’re stopping through Taos we’ll make sure to get some food here.

Not a Good Experience Taos Diner seems to have a good reputation for a non-touristy meal. We had a little over an hour for lunch, so we stopped in. The place was busy, but there were a few empty tables and no line at the door. After we ordered, it became apparent that they didn’t have enough staff on and they were slammed for their staffing level – 2 people on the floor, 1 cook and 1 dishwasher. We had to tell our server that we had an appointment after lunch and had to ask how much longer the food would be. We just got a snarky reply that we should know that it should be delayed when it was this busy. Well, when we walked in we didn’t know if this was an average day or not! Anyway, when the food did arrive, it was pretty good. One item was overly singed on the bottom. It wasn’t anything I would rush back for, but it wasn’t bad either. We got on our way, just in time. But it will be our last time for Taos Diner.

On our way out of Taos to head back to Colorado after a week in New Mexico, we decided our last meal would be here. The food was good and the coffee, too but there was a surprise at the end. Despite visiting Taos many times, I had never eaten here or had not recalled eating there. When we received the bill, there was 20% gratuity added to our party of 5(3 kids, 2 adults). Now, I eat out enough to know the standard is 6 people in a party to have the tip automatically added. I questioned the waitress, who, by the way seemed a little distracted with regulars or family who were also eating in the not very busy diner, and she said(without apology or a smile) it was noted on the menu and the specials board. I had not even noticed the specials board as my back was to it and it was not brought to our attention when we ordered. To add insult to injury, the gratuity was added after tax was added. Not cool. So our $ 46 brunch with change ended up being $ 61. I would have tipped about 15% before tax. This was awkward for me and I assume the staff at the diner and, unfortunately, has led to a mediocre review. Your have been warned parties of 5+!

Solid 4 star performance. Taos Diner is a great little place to grab an affordably priced meal in Taos. We were planning for an afternoon of snow-shoeing and as such, decided to share a breakfast burrito($ 9) served«Christmas style.»(Christmas style is a plate served with both red and green chile sauce.) The breakfast burrito had your standard eggs/potatoes/bacon but the chile was outstanding. Very authentic and definitely carries the spirit of cooking in Northern New Mexico. The food came out very hot, just like I like it. The service is great here — super friendly, local, homey. We enjoyed talking to one of the servers about Taos and New Mexico. I enjoyed my dining experience here and you will, too.

Better than Michael’s Kitchen! Some of the best red chili sauce I’ve ever had, and I’ve been eating in NM for the past 30 years!

Amazing breakfast. Had one of their burrito, more than I could ever eat so taking half with me. I would definitely order it again. I highly recommend this diner for breakfast. Just a small unique diner on Taos. Had fresh squeezed apple juice. Will return if ever in the area.

I was surprised and excited to see grits on the menu in TAOS!!! Of course I ordered that breakfast. The grits tasted like they had been cooked in the microwave. Not impressed. There were 4 of us and all ordered breakfasts with 2 eggs. One breakfast plate was lacking 1 egg! Oh well. My eggs were over cooked, needed a lot of pepper to liven up. Biscuits and gravy were just ok. Gravy had a sweet taste which was surprising to me, but at least it had some taste. Bacon was two different kids. One maple and one regular, decent enough. Pancakes were thick and chewy. Best yet we had to share the syrup with another table! Yes we shared one syrup between two tables. Made us talk to others I guess, but would have preferred one per table. Everyone at our table ordered pancakes, I think we should have ranked one at the table! Oh and among the 4 of us at the table we had to share ONE menu too. First time and last time here.

More than a decade ago, I spent a summer in New Mexico and became somewhat obsessed with green and red chile. So, this summer when we were driving through New Mexico, we looked up the best breakfast burrito and ended up here. Either my wife would see my obsession or think I was just a lunatic! There was a lot resting on this meal. I’m glad to say it did not disappoint. We both had smothered breakfast burritos, mine with chorizo, and hers with bacon. First, they were freaking huge. Second, they were smothered(and I mean smothered) in a delicious green chile sauce. Third, they were so piping hot it would burn the roof of your mouth. And finally, after all these years, my wife can share my love of green chile. Then, just to make this place more intriguing, while going to the bathroom we saw that they had a display of the most interesting looking graphic novel, Mind Afire, about Nicola Tesla. When we asked about it, they said they were friends with a local artist who had done the artwork. We managed to pick up a copy of this super cool book, which they packaged up nicely for us.(The book was a kickstarter project that you can find online as well). Super fun! I’m sure there are other places around, but I’m not sure I would even bother trying a different place. When I pass back through, I’ll stop here.

Yummy little diner! Had the House Breakfast which was more than enough! 2 scrambled eggs, loads of home fries, 2 pieces of turkey sausage, and a piece of wheat toast. The entire plate was yummy! The coffee was also great! Definitely a place the locals dine. The main waitress was great! She knew all her regulars by name! It was great listening to her converse with them… «Are you hungry??» As she greeted one gentleman! Great place!

While staying in Taos, we heard multiple times about The Diner’s wonderful breakfast. Unfortunately, we didn’t roll in here till about 2pm and opted for lunch. Luckily, their lunch is very good too, at least the burgers. Local reared and grass fed, the burgers were wonderful and piled with fresh avocado, veggies and cheese. All the ingredients tasted good and more importantly nothing resembled anything frozen. Excellent burgers. One in our party ordered the lunch burrito, which was filled and came stuffed with excellent chicken. The green chili topping was well above average. You can’t go wrong with either item.
