This place has been around in Tampa for a long time ive heard. My stepbrother’s daughter had a large birthday today and they all traveled down here to Tampa from Miami to conclude their celebration. I’m currently waiting for them to arrive still, but the staff seemed very impatient with me when they saw me sitting down. This is rudest thig they can do. However, a very sweet elderly woman who worked here came up to me and cheered me up with her stories of waitressing here as she asked if I needed any help. Normally I would give any restaurant a one star right away if the service is bad, but this old lady bumped it up a star for me. I havent eaten here yet, so tale this review as more of an incomplete review rather than a thorough, comprehensive one. If you want C– level service, then come to Village Inn lol

Love this place! Great staff, always a good breakfast. Went alone and felt very comfortable. I like to visit whenever I’m in the area.

We were looking for breakfast around lunchtime. In town from ATL, we logged in and found Village Inn close by. Glad we did. The wife agreed we could use something like this back home. It’s a step above IHOP. Kind of a cross between them and a diner. I had a «make it yourself» combo of eggs, sausage, French toast, potatoes. So good and filling! Lots of different possibilities to create your own. My wife had an omelette with pancakes. Pancakes were light and fluffy. She loved their coffee. And no matter what time of day or night you’re there, The array of desserts is crazy. So many amazing fresh pies! We saw so many tables having whole pies being boxed up to go home with. And the ladies up front where they are displayed were constantly going into the back and bringing up trays of pies to restock the display; they couldn’t keep up.

We ate here after church this morning. It was so delicious. Our waitress, Margie, was very kind and attentive. The restaurant was busy– but our food came out quickly. The French toast was some of the best I have ever had. We will back.

My lunch companion and I stopped in for a late lunch early dinner. We were greeted by the hostess with a friendly smile and bubbly personality and she sat us in a booth. It was pretty busy in this area. I loved how everyone hustled and made sure everyone was taken care of. Our waitress made her way over to our table in a timely manner who I thought was a thoughtful, nice sweet girl and I liked how attentive she was. She checked up on us through out the meal. The service is really good at this location and the staff is trained well. I think it also has a lot to do with good management. I ordered the Grown-Up Grilled Cheese and a cup of Tomato Basil Soup. This combination is always a favorite of mine. THETOMATOBASILSOUP The basil wasn’t soft and cooked down enough which it should be in tomato basil soup. I like to put my herbs in cheese cloth when I cook and take them out near the end. It flavors the dish quite well. FRENCHSILKPIE It was really good. It tasted just like pies we used to eat at Thanksgiving and Christmas time. It was rich and the crust was very good. It certainly lives up to it’s name. FRENCHSILK.

Village Inn is a great place for breakfast, but they also serve dinner and have some interesting entrees. So we went there. Their really home made chicken pot pie was outstanding with a tasty crispy crust and fresh ingredients inside. However the roast turkey dinner was very disappointing. The turkey itself was fine, but the overall dish was very salty. The stuffing was mushy and other than being over salted it was bland as was the mashed potatoes. Now their homemade pies are another thing. They are outstanding! With a trip for their pies.

Have been here many times. This is not shown in my reviews. Good Brunch /lunch food. The staff is one of the best. The décor is boring, needs some color added. Quiet, soft lighting. Good for people of all ages. 20 to 107+ kid friendly. 20% discount for seniors.

The restaurant was very clean, the service personnel were very friendly and helpful, and the food was very good! I had a chicken pot pie and a tossed salad with blue cheese dressing. I asked the server for additional blue cheese crumbles which was provided with a smile. The pot pie was hot, loaded with veggies and meat — one of the better pies I’ve encountered! I would definitely eat here again when in the area.

It took them one hour to bring 4 pieces of fried fish and some French fries… One hour!!! The worst part is that the place was not even full. And when the food got here it wasn’t even that great.

I am sure the place isn’t bad to eat at as I like Village inn for a simple meal however this was my second time ordering a to-go breakfast from there only to show up and the order had not been put in. I guess its my fault for thinking the second time would be different so ill take the blame however just to note, a woman named Mayara took the order both times so maybe she is just generally busy and forgets certain orders. I will not be trying anymore however.

Simple, made to order(the way I ordered it), and friendly. But the overall welcome attitude brought the review from a 3 to a 3.5. M The coffee is diner coffee, but served in one’s own carafe. The pie is worth the trip in and of itself.

Whenever there’s a special occasion with my Dad, I always bring a Village Inn pie over. Village Inn has some great desserts and ready to go pies in the front of the restaurant when you walk in for quick convenient carry-out. My dads favorite is the French Silk Pie but he pretty much likes every pie they make. My favorite is their banana pie and their chocolate peanut butter pie because they’re not too sweet. Their French silk is a little too sweet for my tastes but it’s my Dads favorite so I’ll still get it. I remember when these pies were $ 6.99 not so long ago and now theyre $ 12.99 but that just makes me sound like an old timer lol. The staff has always been quick courteous and friendly. A long time ago, we used to come here for a late late fourth meal, but I can’t really comment on their in-restauramt meals. I know they have breakfast lunch and dinner available at any time but I haven’t dined inside here lately.

I have enjoyed coming here my whole life, but the recent change to the restaurant and the menu are not for the best. I have never seen on a menu a two egg omelet. Sad to see something that has been around for so long take a turn that’s not the best.

Wednesdays is free slice of pie day. I had the rubarb… awesome. For breakfast I had the pork chop, eggs over easy, grits and the pancakes(some sort of whole grain). The pork chops were cooked about a minute too long. Eggs were perfect. Pancakes were ridiculously good. This comment is coming from someone that was called pancake man in college. The waitress was very sweet and helpful.

I’m really enjoying these last couple of Village Inns! This morning Carol was my server and she was very attentive and checked on us often. Friendly and knowledgable also when I asked her a few questions before ordering. The food was fresh cooked to order and brought to our table timely and with a smile. Can’t express enough how enjoyable it was to dying here and just have a simple casual meal with such great service completely made this experience worth mentioning.

Great customer service here. Also, the prices aren’t too bad. I had 2 slices of french toast, 2 eggs, hashbrowns and wheat toast. Yes, all of it :)

Still my favourite diner in Tampa, they deliver every single time! Wednesday free pie day is a bonus, and Village Inn Build Your Own breakfast menu is so much fun and absolutely one of our favourites.

Enjoying my free breakfast this glorious veteran’s day! Can’t go wrong with any of the breakfast items on the menu. I usually get the eggs bacon and pancakes, but since the French Toast was complimentary today, French Toast it was. Great choice. Keep up the good work VI!

Of course, after living in Minnesota, we would unintentionally wind up at a Baker’s Square equivalent, lol. So Village Inn and Baker’s Square are one in the same. For us that’s alright. It might not be a true local speciality but it isn’t a chain that we have back home in Texas, and it brought back memories, so once we figured it out we were happy =) I got their build your own breakfast type of deal with french toast, eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns. A lot of good food! I forget what my husband got… oops. It was breakfast though. Though we were way full we HAD to participate in the free pie Wednesday deal. I mean, it’s free pie. This chain is reliably good. I don’t like IHOP or Denny’s but I like these guys. We’ve never had a bad experience at either Baker’s Square or, now, Village Inn. The people are friendly, the restaurants are clean. Village Inn seemed a tad old outdated but that’s actually cool with me.
