This is a review for my visit on January 10th. Had the General’s Chicken, Green Beans and pork fried rice. Shared a bowl of hot and sour soup. Overall, I think it’s a great little place and the food definitely tasted great. Generous portions, very friendly staff. Good value for the money. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was that the food was plated and put in a microwave for a minute to get steaming hot. It’s a buffet on a steam table, but maybe that day it wasn’t working well? Regardless, the food tasted great, so I’m not going to ding it more than a star. I’d definitely go back — they had many dishes I’d like to try. Also, very limited parking.

I work close by and would go here from time to time for a quick bite! The food was always pretty good for the most part. For fast food… But the very last time I went there and got something To-Go and opened it to take a bite, the container, as well as each bite, tasted and smelt of burning plastic! It was disgusting! I went back to express my concerns and the Dude opened the container asked how many items and gave my money back. He wasn’t concerned about the smell, taste, or me as a customer. I will never go back and will express my experience to anyone I hear speak of this establishment. I would have made it 1 Star if I didn’t have a good experience prior. But that last visit really put a bad taste in my mouth. In both sense of the phrase!

My husband recently moved to the area and we were looking for a good Chinese restaurant, so we decided to give this place a try. I really like that they give you a lot for your money and the flavor is pretty good for Chinese fast food.

My shop orders food from this place ALL the time. We are a busy repair shop and always order ahead so someone can run in and out. Today a different girl than I usually talk to answered the phone and I start telling her what I want. Everything was fine until she realized I was ordering boxes. She then informs me I need to just come in and order. Usually this would be fine, but today the guy that was going to pick up doesn’t speak English. I tell her this and tell her it’s never been a problem before. She rudely says Yea I don’t know what to tell you. Then hangs up on me… girl acting like her job is hard! Needless to say we spent our cash elsewhere!

Terrible buy! Not a good value at all. Since when do you have to purchase rice extra with your meal? It’s an implied side that comes with the order. So basically I just for my main course with no rice for $ 9.50… It’s Chinese food, not steak! My food was late bc driver went wrong way, then he couldn’t get to my neighborhood bc he didn’t have a drivers license! So I had to go pick it up. Not the point of delivery. So cold food, not enough food, pick up for delivery and they won’t give me a refund bc the manager not in and the girl on phone don’t speak enough English to understand what I’m telling her. She was definitely playing her«I don’t speak English card» bc when I asked her for refund she said I don’t know how and manager not here then she asked if I want 20% refunded to my card. That was the first order and the last order.

I got 3 options from the buffet… chicken choi mein, garlic chicken and spicy chicken. Quality was good for buffet Chinese. Would definitely try this place again.

Ah Wok’s On. I remember this place from when I first tried it back in the early 2000s(wanna say 2004 earliest). With so many places to eat around the south bay, this was the place to go. It was miles better than anything Mr. Chau’s could ever put out(how are they still around after all these years?!). Even after we left the south bay, we always came back here for food. Several of my favorites were always the salt and pepper chicken, General’s chicken, beef broccoli, and pork fried rice. Let’s not forget about that bomb hot and sour soup. Now that I’m back in the south bay again, this place seems to have lost its quality. I just had to stop by last week when I had the time. I was disappointed for the most part. The chicken in the salt and pepper side had less chicken and more batter, the beef in general was too damn chewy. It was almost as if I was eating blubber or something. The worst main was the fried rice though. My friend and I stopped by around 30 mins before closing and the rice tasted like it was going bad. I don’t know how long it’s been sitting there but it tasted a little funky. As if it’s barely starting to spoil. I know that taste a little too well unfortunately. One of the things that I do like about Wok’s On is that the price and amount of food you get is solid. Well as solid can be for the bay. I’ve been to places in the central valley(after searching and digging) that’ll give you comparable portions that taste so much better ANDFOR cheaper. Might give them another try some day.

Just tried their quick take-out and for the price very good. I know that you never get the best from a Chinese restaurant when you do the quick and easy take-out but I was by myself today and needed to get back to the office. The broccoli beef was decent and the hot and sour soup was VERY good. I will for sure try it again and have it made fresh and then judge for real. The soup was a 5.

Cost effective and friendly staffs are there. I order chicken rice noodle. It is similar to «Harusame» in Japanese. When I ordered I confirm it is similar to Phở? Then staff said that yes, but it is fried noodle. So I ranked down.

WOW. I dont think I have ever had such a great chinese take out experience. First, they give you A LOT of food… and when i say a lot I mean it. One time a new girl was loading up my plate and when I got to the cashier they made her put more in it because it wasnt all the way«full». You are most definitely getting your moneys worth PLUSMORE. Second. The food is high quality. The chicken is real white meat and when you bite into it, its not a ball a lard but actual pieces of chicken. The beef is pretty well scliced but again well worth it. Not a fan of the pork because its too chewy. The chow mein noodles are nice thick egg noodles. Definitely not wimpy panda express. you always see the ladies sitting at the table prepping the vegetables and green beans which is really adorable and you know youre getting real veggies. The soup is amazingggg! Probably the best hot and sour soup ive ever had! the service is always pretty good. theres a blond girl with glasses who works here who is always so friendly without being super annoying and trying to kiss your ass. If you come here for lunch its cool because you can sit and hangout then save the rest for dinner! Highly recommend for quick chinese take out!

This was my first time at this restaurant. The food was good and the place is clean. The price is great for the amount of food this place give you. I definitely recommend coming here and trying it out! Great customer service!

5÷6÷15: Standard Americanized Chinese take-out. 1. 3 Items $ 7.75: NOTE: they count the noodles/rice as 1 item. Many other places don’t, so this is more like some other places’ 2 item. 1a. Salt & Pepper Chicken: Not bad. Chicken is tender(dark meat). The coating is a little stale and not that crunchy, but it’s okay. Good flavor. 5⁄10. 1b. Broccoli Beef: Also quite typical. Beef over-marinated/tenderized, but it almost always is. Big chunks of broccoli – which was not overcooked, so that’s good. 5⁄10. I should note, they do give a good amount of food(though most of these places do). The food will be heaping in your takeout box. But other than that, nothing particularly special here, but if I’m craving some American Chinese like today, I wouldn’t mind coming here. 3⁄5 #chinese #americanchinese #takeout #fastfood

Reviews should be written in the context of the type of food it’s supposed to be. You don’t come here expecting some fine dining experience or authentic Chinese food. You come here for Chinese-American take out. When you compare it to Panda Express, this place blows it out of the water. Whenever I have a craving for Panda, I come here, and you should too. Cheap, generous portions, greasy food. And I love it. You’re not coming here if you’re on a diet, that’s all I’m saying.

I must emphasize that the high rating here is within the category of «inexpensive fast Chinese-American steam table food.» If you want serious Chinese, you’d never come here in the first place, so now that all the gourmets have left the room, let me call this place a godsend for locals who just have the urge for Chinese takeout at odd hours. You have to be careful what you order; not all the spicy chicken dishes are that great. I really like the salt & pepper fish, but only if it’s still fresh; if you pick it when it’s been sitting out for a while, it’s like old shoe leather. Mongolian beef is good; sweet & sour OK. Hot & sour soup comes with, and is rather hot and definitely sour.

This place’s food only deserves three stars. It is the very typical Chinese American food. But you definitely get your money’s worth. And that’s why they deserved the 4th star. This place pack that plate or to go box with as much as they could. This is a great strategy because for the little more money they spent by giving you the extra scoop of food, they have return customers for mediocre food(well and very fast). Now their meat does not taste like the best grade but there are a few dishes that I tried are not bad. I always get the veggie low-mein as the meat in the other ones just tastes so bland. For dishes I like green beans, tian-fu chicken, curry chicken, Kung-pao chicken, and egg drop soup. The soup is free with any combo. I actually love love their egg drop soup. Very tasty. Think of this as a hole in the wall to get some fast grub for an extremely cheap price then I think you will leave happy. Also being that cheap you have to not mind the oil and carbs. :)

Not sure why you see so many negative reviews. It is a fairly unremarkable place. Maybe that is actually the answer. Have all the standard chinese american style choices one would expect from a typical divey place that delivers. Delivery is what makes it good to me personally. Food quality is average, this isn’t trying to be pf changs or tao taos and the prices are also not comparable, it is cheap food at cheap prices. Portions are above average. Location sucks due to limited parking, but as I said earlier they deliver so not really an issue for me. Solid 3 stars but dont mistake for anything more.

I ordered delivery from them, so this review is solely based on the quality of their delivered food. Overall, below average chinese food, I won’t order from them again. chicken chow mien(3⁄5) — This is a «safe» dish to order, it doesn’t taste that good but it also doesn’t taste bad. If you had to get something I would get this. Vegetable deluxe(3⁄5) — Just your average stir fried vegetables. I thought this was the second best dish because everything else was so bad. vegetable fried rice(2⁄5) — Under-seasoned. Good for people with high blood pressure. five-flavor chicken(medium spicy)(2⁄5) — not sure where the other 3 flavors were because I could only taste sweet and sour here. The chicken itself was very bland and overcooked. It was drenched with a layer of sweet and sour sauce that felt very cheap. Salt and pepper fish filet(1⁄5) — I’m pretty sure this dish was some left over from 2 weeks ago because the fish was so tough that I couldn’t chew through it after 5 or so bite attempts(seriously, I’m not joking). I’m not sure if this is only for delivery, but if you can only learn 1 thing from this review then it would be to not order this dish. Overall, I would not order from this place again.

It is a dream come true when a foodie has a lunch program transitioned to her open arms. The technical issues notwithstanding, it is a great treat to explore and find new venues to order from. So on the recommendations of several people, I headed over to this establishment to sample the fare prior to ordering for a couple hundred people. I ordered two 3-item entrée boxes to go: –Veggie chow mein, Tien Fu Chicken, Garlic Chicken –Chicken chow mein, Mongolian Beef, Sweet & Sour Pork Both of these take out orders came with a side of free soup(Egg flower or Hot & Sour) and chopsticks and a fortune cookie. Both containers were stuffed to the top of the container and totaled $ 8 something with tax. A steal, given the high prices in this area in general. Staff here was friendly and quick, although I chose to speak to someone in particular when it came to placing a corporate order. Let me emphasize that the food here is Chinese American style. I.E. it is to appease the palate of Americans and is not true Chinese style, so don’t be picky. This is a spot to go to for quick and huge portions of savory CA style food. If you prefer otherwise, go to PF Chang’s for the sitdown and double/triple the total of the check. The food was pretty tasty, in particular the Tien Fu chicken and the chow mein. I hope to head back and sample the other Szechuan style dishes in the near future. I prefer highly flavored and spicy foods so it was a little on the lighter side here. However, I understand the necessities of having to appease the generic population so… The establishment is in the vein of fast food Chinese deli style, in the manner of open counter tops and servings done by the staff. There is seating available on the inside but it seemed that most came here for the take-out. Parking is limited so I would recommend parking in the larger lot next door, not to mention easier access to the exit points and not getting blocked in by the SV types cramming W. El Camino Real.
