Great fish and chips. Tried the calamari as well and it was good. Always get the malt vinegar. Good service as well

Great little place for fast fish and chips. I had the one-piece fish with three prawns. It was exactly what I expected. Good flavor on the batter(and not too much of it) while still being able to taste the fish.

Tried them again — OMG the fried mushrooms are delish! Fish was much better — two happy campers tonight, thanks to The Bay!

Amazing neighborhood joint! Love the fish, clams, and especially the Jalapeño poppers. They have a unique spin on it with fresh jalapenos and DELICIOUS real cheese. This is my favorite chippie in the bay!

Lived and worked in Sunnyvale for more than 20 years and never ate here… my loss! The fish is excellent, and I love the fried oysters. Upgrading to onion rings is a no-brainer. The rings are fresh and crispy — absolutely awesome! They have cocktail sauce, but you need to ask for it.

I liked the fried clams and the fish is very good also; friendly staff makes it even nicer.

Craving for some fried food, and Bayshore is just the perfect place… Very fresh Seafood Fish & Chip, we ordered some fish and chips, with some prawns and scallops, and you can just taste the freshness! I like to take them with their homemade tartar sauce, and my daughter like to take them with traditional English style vinegar. Food here are made to order, so you can eat them while they are nice and hot~ Very friendly service, and cozy environment. We come here a couple of times a month, and has become a little habit for us.

Ladies and Gentlemen — and others — may I direct your attention to a little restaurant hidden away in the corner of a suburban shopping center anchored by Michael’s. Sunnyvale is a suburb of 100,000 that suddenly sprang to life in the 1960s with white-bread ranch houses peopled by middle-class commuter families. Sunnyvale is still roughly 100,000 people, although the bread is not all white anymore. The Bay Fish & Chips looks like it’s been here since the early days. Wood paneling, unusual wall color, old chandeliers, diner-style menu near the ceiling where you place your order. The strange thing is, fish & chips is a British specialty, yet the people running the place are Chinese. Go figure. For just over $ 12, I got two large pieces of fish with large fries. The tables include vinegar, ketchup, and tartar sauce. Naturally, I soaked the fish with the vinegar, and I had to soak the fries with ketchup(I’ve eaten few fries that I like). I had low expectations for the fries, and they met my expectations. Fish: Well, it started so hot that I could barely eat it. Finally it cooled down, but by then, it lost the best of its flavor. Bummer. Overall, The Bay F&C was a little of a letdown. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t something I’d drive clear from the East Bay to eat. Still, if you’re halfway between PA and SJC on ECR, and looking for some inexpensive nomnom, this works a-okay.

The fish and chips here are alright, I’ve had a lot better. The fries are frozen and not freshly made. The fish was chewy not flaky and was a little fishy(probably frozen fish). The interior and tables aren’t that great and the tables were a little oily when I came. If you are desperate and craving fish & chips I guess this is worth a stop. If not go to your nearest costco and buy some fish sticks.

Been coming here a lot lately because of the good food. * I love fish and chips. And what I am so happy about this place is that they have different choices. Fish, Oysters and Chips, Fish, Clams and Chips, 1 – 3 pcs Fish and Chips, and my favorite Fish, Prawns, and Chips. There are many more in their menu that I haven’t tried yet, and would love to try. * The Vinegar! Others like their Fish & Chips with Tartar Sauce, but I love it with Vinegar. And them offering vinegar is a plus! * The place is clean and great customer service. It is family-owned and the people running the place are nice and friendly!

Love this place. Husband and I used to come here all the time but for some reason we stopped. All of a sudden a couple of days ago he remembers it and suggests we try it again. Just as good as I remembered. The pieces of fish are huge, the prawns are really, really good also and big. What I like is that their fried food is not greasy. I also like their fries. Crinkled cut which is usually not my favorite but they are nice and crispy. You can substiture steamed rice or cole slaw for the fries. That said this is a fried seafood place. Don’t expect healthy options. The only negative for me is that the owners are not particularly friendly. Not nasty but not friendly. But I guess I’m there for good fried food not to make friends.

OMG. Stopped in on Friday to order dinner since, being Catholic, we don’t eat meat on Friday during Lent. First, I didn’t realize the orders were enormous. Ordered the 3 piece fish and chips and since there were 3 of us, ordered 3 orders. That was overkill. One order is enough for 2 people and we had lots of leftover fish and chips. The fish was not greasy and fresh. Had enough left over for another day. Next time, will just order less food.

Came here on a work lunch break not too busy. It’s in an old plaza so the building isn’t the greatest or the nicest but it’s clean! ordering: one counter to order and the lady at the register is really nice(talks kind of fast but nice and courteous) they just have a wall menu and signs everywhere I didn’t really look for any takeout menus so don’t take my word on them not having any. food: quick! duh it’s just fried food. I got the calamari and chips. sooooo good, and not greasy at all!!! my coworkers all loved that. I tried someone shrimp(which were jumbo, when you see the price you think they’re over charging but once you get your food it’s pretty worth it) it was so good. Didn’t try to fish though, next time! Of course they had tartar sauce to make everything taste even better. Didn’t get to ask if it was homemade or generic. Four stars only because I don’t really have anything to compare to other than like Popeyes or Red Lobster(definitely better than red lobster). and there could possibly be an even better fish n chip place out there. Hahah. Sorry for the quick review but this place seriously makes me want to eat fried shrimp and calamari everyday. But I can’t and I shouldn’t. Definitely the place to go for a quick craving fix!

I’ve been coming here for years, primarily during the Lenten season. It’s an old school, dive but the food is good overall. And, it’s the closest Fish and Chip shop to our home. Virtually everything here is deep fried, save the salads(cole slaw and green) and 3 sandwiches. They can take a very healthy dish of brussel sprouts and turn them into delicious, most likely bad for you, deep fried goodness! But hey, we all need to eat unhealthy from time to time. Their fish can sometimes be inconsistent. Tonight, I ordered the 2 piece Fish and Chips. One of the fish was very thin and dry inside, consisting mostly of the batter. My other fish was long, thick, juicy and had the right amount of batter. I had substituted the«chips» with onion rings which was a good call. Their onion rights are very good! If you want to kick up your meal a bit, ask them for the hot sauce with is Tapatio! By the way, their soda fountain is still on the flat side! LOL! At least it’s not overly syrupy.

First off I’d like to thank Steve and Alice for doing such a great job with this shop. Even though it’s just them two, they know how to handle the lines and still maintain great food. Their fish n chips is crispy and golden with a thick piece of fresh white meat fish. The texture is perfect! The tempura-like batter makes a perfect coating. It’s not flaky and dry tasting like that panko bread crumb stuff. The pieces here are pretty big; almost the size of my forearm lol. The fries are crispy too and cooked well! This is hands downs the best fish n chips in the South Bay. The quality of the meat and the perfect timed fry is everything. Thanks again Steve and Alice!

Had a craving for fish and chips for lunch ! Unilocal always leads me down the right path. Bay Fish & Chips is in the same parking lot as the Popoeys how did I miss this great little resturant. ?? Upon walking in the resturant is very clean. The young lady was super nice and took my order. After explaining I had never been here before she suggested I try the lunch special(2) Fish & Chips(fries) $ 8.95 The fantastic thing was as soon as I order they started cooking my fish and fries. I could hear the deep fryer going. The Customer service is great. She asked if it was here to or to go ?? I wanted to full effect … So I ate there at the resturant. AFter I sat the sweet cashier came out with my soda and condements .picture attached. I might say I am a really picky eater. The Deep fried frish was excellent, shall i guess and say beer batter, the fish was flacky, soft, tender with a crisp outside. Below you can see the pics I took. I so glad I found this fish and chips place in Sunnyvale. Excellent food with great service will certainly have me coming back for more. I see many items I will try on the menu.
