Went here last week looking for a large pot to cook my tamales in, but it was a no go. I guess pots & pans are hot items in second hand stores cuz this is the second, second hand store that I went to in search of tamale pot. This like the other place I went to was cleaned out of a lot of stuff. I guess its a sign of the tough times we are living in.

My guy scored a nice VCR for under 20.00 bucks. After trying to buy one at a pricey store, I took him there and he was stoked! It works just fine.

I needed a tank top and shorts so I could dress as Richard Simmons(who doesn’t?). I found the perfect tank top — red, deep neck. and sparkly. I’m sure whomever donated it never thought it’d one day be used for a Richard Simmons costume. Here is why Salvation Army rules when it comes to picking out a Halloween costume: 1) Clothing organized by type(long sleeve shirt, short sleeve shirt, skirts, shorts, etc.) and color. So awesome!!! Goodwill doesn’t bother to organize their clothes — it’s mostly just a total mismash. 2) Half off Wednesdays. I stumbled onto this but it made my $ 2.70 purchase only $ 1.35. Bad things: 1) Only one changing area and it seemed like someone could see over the door without too much trouble. 2) Had to overhear redneck oldster debate between two patrons — one yer typical white haired old guy and one guy with scary gray shoulder length wavy hair — about gay marriage. I believe the words«back in my day» were spoken.

half off every wednesday is still going on! went through there yesterday while i had some time to kill and found some really cheap blazers! under $ 5! but none my size(sucks being tall). yes, i’m a blazer guy… electronic section was pretty impressive with a 32″ tube tv for $ 150(small scratch on the screen — you might be able to bring down that price). furniture was priced average. they had an orange 70’s era couch with matching chairs(one oval and one square!) the place is a little run down inside but, hey, it’s a thrift store. what was not cool was whoever smoking their cancer stick in the back receiving room — i was just fine with the«used items smell» of the store.

In the Civic Square shopping center, next to Michael’s. A large thrift store but run down and old in side. There is a seperate section for higher end items at higher prices. The feel is a garage sale so you will pick up good deals but many of the items are worn and tired.
