Ask for the Fresh Taco or 99 cent Burrito and you will not be disappointed. This establishment had usually been my go to spot for late night munchies until a new counter person started slacking. However, my most recent late night snack had left me wanting for more but they are closing soon… I will be back!!!

Just got a food delivery from them and a LIVEROACH — small was moving on a spoon retrieved from the bag. What’s worse — it’s for a work event… yUcK! We called them and they told US they have no roaches and were really rude. Never again. I’ve ordered from there on several occasions and this is terrible!

Definitely great for getting cheap, plentiful food, but I found the guac to be too citrus-y and nothing else in the meal really stood out.

Fast and friendly service. I like going to this place. They use fresh ingredients for their food. When I come here, I order spinach, and shrimp with Mexican rice. The two taste fabulous together. Owned by two brothers, this place tries its best to replicate Mexican food. It may not be authentic, but it is easy on the wallet. When you want something straight forward and simple, come in. Sunnyside Taco sells homemade ice tea by the quart for $ 1.25. So if you feel thirsty, head over here for some ice tea! Located on Grermpoint ave., you can get there by bus, train or even walk from Queens blvd. After you dine here, take a walk down on Greenpoint Blvd. for some shopping. Cash only. Use credit card for seamless.

This is a quality Mexican Chinese takeout spot. It has all the characteristics of a nyc Chinese owned Mexican takeout joint. What makes this spot great is the A rating, the somewhat clean interior, the low prices, the pretty great taste and the nice area it is in. I asked the owner of they use msg and he said no. That’s a good sign but I can never trust these Chinese takeout people when it comes to msg — which I don’t like. For anyone who has never been to a Chinese owned Mexican takeout joint — this is not real Mexican food. This is the Chinese take on Mexican food and in a shop that looks exactly the same as a Chinese food takeout place. The food has a unique taste and I like it.

I’ve ordered from here around 5 times and it’s a good place that’ll give you your money’s worth. With that being said, the hard shell tacos are bad, especially the beef one so stay away from it. However, the burritos are amazingly fulfilling but they’re not really burritos. They’re more like giant soft shell tacos but they’re worth it everytime.

It hits the spot! Ok so it’s not authentic but it has good flavor and you get tons of food for the price! The side of beans is huge! Love their quesadillas and the tostadas are as big as my head!

I really wish there was a «NOSTARS» option. So, I ordered the Chili con Carne Nachos and the Steamed Shrimp Burrito. AWFUL. The nachos were a flavorless mass held together by congealed cheese with a big pile of dookie masquerading as beans on one side, and an even bigger pile of runny dookie masquerading as ground beef on the other side. However, I managed to find the only TWOCHIPS that had ALLOFTHESALT on them that the rest of the nachos sorely needed. My tongue is still numb from the impact of those naked sodium granules destroying my tastebuds, and I am sure that I now have three different types of hypertension from one accidental lick of the aforementioned triangular salt licks. And let’s not get started on the burrito. I’m sorry… not a burrito. Rather, it was a freaking TACO made for Rubeus Hagrid of Harry Potter fame. Burritos are supposed to be wrapped tightly and closed at both ends. NOTTHISTHING! The thing that I got was open all the way around, and the shrimp were so undercooked that they could probably party with Spongebob and Co. in his pineapple under the sea. Oh, also, I paid via Paypal, but was going to tip the delivery driver in cash. The driver didn’t even have the nerve to drop my food off at my office to me personally, and instead, one of my coworkers brought it to me. Perhaps he knew just how shit-tastic this food is. Needless to say, if someone were to ask me if I would order from there again, my answer would be, to quote Bishop Bullwinkle(or Bull Winka), «HELLNAW… TOTHENAWNAWNAW, HELLTOTHENAW!»

I’ve been getting food from here since I was a kid. The food here isn’t the tastiest or most authentic BUT it’s VERY cheap and is a great bang for the buck if you’re on a budget looking for a quick casual meal. You get what you pay for, but take that as a good thing for this particular place and not as a negative comment. Nothing much else to say but I come here fairly often with my local friends without complaints.

Called in an order and before I could even ask what the total was and how long it would be the man hung up on me. When I arrived I was surprised to find out that it was cash only and somehow when I was rung up my three vegetarian tacos cost $ 10 even though they are all listed as a buck and change. Was given an attitude when I asked about the cost and where I could find an ATM. Decided it wasn’t worth my time and id rather not give my money to people who are rude. Will not go here again.

Love this place! I come here all the time and always get the steak platter(lots of steak, rice, black beans, lettuce, tomato, two homemade tortillas and a soft drink for $ 7). So much food, and it’s reasonably priced. It’s tasty and it’s pretty high quality as far as Tex Mex goes. We order here routinely when friends come over… can’t do much better than this place for takeout.

I generally agree with the other reviewers in that you trade off authenticity for price/quantity at this place, but I also think the quality of the food is way worse than they make it out to be. I ordered a black bean taco and a steak taco and both were bad to mediocre. The steak taco was fine: under-seasoned but pretty filling/satisfying when covered in hot sauce. The black bean taco tasted like someone warmed a can of black beans in a skillet for five minutes without adding anything to it before pouring it on a tortilla, which is probably what happened. The low quality was punctuated by one of the employees coming out from behind the counter to eat some really nice looking Chinese food in a tupperware container. I should not want to trade you the food that you just sold me for what you brought from home.

This is a definite go to for unique tacos that are very affordable! They are not too fancy and by that I mean it’s basically meat, cheese with the quesadilla which by the way is delicious. Fajitas here are also very good meat, peppers and onions. Chili con Carne is also very tasty! The best part about this place is that everything tastes so fresh and the prices are great! Worth a stop in for sure

Tacos are good, burritos are amazing. Delivery is really good, on time. Couple of blocks away from where I live.

Chinese Mexican. Drunk food. It’s good. Really. The portions are ample. Unique yes. Tasty. Yes. No so much authentic Mexican but it’s good fast cheap and the portions are large. Go to De Mole if you want authentic. This place is take out. Consistent A grade health rating. Like a good food truck but in a brick and mortar store. I mean it in a good way. Cash only.

This is such a solid candidate for some tasty, cheap Tex-Mex take out in West Queens! A grilled chicken platter for less than $ 6? A big bag of tortilla chips and guac for $ 3? While the«authenticity» of the food may be up for debate, no one can deny how right the price is at this place. The tortilla chips are crispy, salty, and taste like they just came out the frier. The guac is creamy — good, even though I prefer it thicker myself — and my grilled chicken platter was chock full of rice, black beans, and juicy, flavorful pollo. The tortillas they give you on the side make it easy for you to construct your own taco(s) as you please. Oh, and did I tell you that the platter comes with a free drink? Certainly not the best Mexican food I’ve had in Sunnyside, but when you want some good takeout, go Sunnyside Taco.

This place is incredibly cheap for how much food you get! Even their $ 2 spinach soft shell taco, which is literally just sautéed spinach in their homemade tortilla is unbelievably tasty. Their quesadillas are made on the same freshly made tortilla and always come fully loaded with cheese and meat, even steak, which most places would skimp on. If you’re vegan, I recommend the $ 6 spinach burrito, but ask for a knife and fork because it is definitely plate food, and not something you can eat on the go! Throwing a shindig and don’t feel like cooking? Their fajitas by the pound of half-pound is the perfect last minute catering. All the ingredients come separately so you and your guests(or just you, I’ve been there so I can’t judge!) can build their own dinners! The samosas are great too because they put it all on a bed of rice and veggies, and load on the sauce, where a lot of places will just give you the samosa pockets separate or on lettuce. It’s not the best Mexican food in the world, but if you’re living on a budget, this is an easy way to get fed for very little money. I would also recommend getting a couple orders to keep in the fridge for later meals because everything still tastes great reheated!

Very good affordable food. From the outside you would think its a real dive. The place isn’t fancy but they keep their kitchen clean. I always go to pick up my food so I know what I am getting. The people who work there are very quick and efficient and funny. Its pretty cool that they make their own tortillas. They put flour tortillas in this machine that presses out perfectly round tortillas that slip right onto the flat top so its always fresh to me. I am a cheese lover so everything that I order has cheese in it. Their chicken quesadilla has a good amount of chicken and cheese, plus their soft taco chili con carne without the L. T only with cheese is really good. I also enjoy their plain nachos which really isn’t plain. You get cheddar cheese on one side of the nachos and monetary jack on the other side plus black beans and jalapeño in the center. If you stick to the basics and not try to get fancy you will have an amazing meal. I would totally recommend this place before going out to party or an early lunch after partying :)

In NYC, there are Mexican restaurants and there are Chino-Mexican restaurants(#1). Not the Chino spots with owners that hail from Latin America and are putting in their version of «chau fa» but the Mexican equivalent to the divey, grimy, and Chinese American fast food and that’s what you have throughout the five boroughs. Many of them boast to be a «Tex Mex» spot while being anything but. Typically they all have the same menu and can’t speak a lick of Spanish. If you can accept this notion, then Sunnyside Fresh Taco isn’t that bad all. The place has undergone a semi-facelift since replacing their busted sign( ) and now sporting a much cleaner, newer store front awning. The interior has just enough seats for two and are usually occupied by high schoolers in the late afternoon. They are, like many others, a pure take out and delivery establishment. A fast one at that. I haven’t been too hot on their mix of salads or nachos. Their tortilla chips are usually tale, with too much cheese that hardens with skimpy portions of everything else. The salads are equally to blame — subpar execution, piss poor presentation, and not particularly memorable. Thankfully, the prices are a hair cheaper than most Chino run Mexi fast food spots I’ve seen. I’ve always been a fan of their hard shelled chicken tacos, a mildly spiced taco filled with chunks of chicken and shredded cheddar, which all goes well with a nice crunchy bite. They’ve become so popular they went from $ 1.59 to $ 1.99 after a couple of years(where as none of the other tacos saw an increase in price). The steak taco is also solid and is the most expensive taco at $ 2.39. Spinach tacos and shrimp tacos are available for non-meat eaters, and I would avoid the dreaded guacamole taco all together. Stick with the same fillings for their quesadillas and burritos, but I wouldn’t recommend venturing too much outside of the tacos unless you’re really feeling hungry. $ 10 should be enough to feed two. Yes, I’m serious. And no, don’t speak Spanish. I learned the hard way.(#2) _________ (#1) There are also Gringo Mexican restaurants too, but let’s not go there. (#2) «Quisiera dos tacos de pollo …» «Li gong sen me hay ya~»?”

There’s positively better and more authentic than this place. My Order: –Order C6: The Grilled Steak Combination Plate — $ 5.99 –Order 1: Fresh Black Bean Soft Shell Taco — $ 1.19 –Order 19: Steak Taco Crispy Shell Taco — $ 2.29 The photos on their menu is nothing like how it comes served. The number one gripe that ruined my meal is that on the photo of the C-6: Grilled Steak Combo Plate you see cuts of steak. I didn’t expect a T-Bone/Sirloin from a hole in the way takeout place but at least any cheap Chuck or Flank steak as tiny it can be would do. But no, they don’t serve anything resembling steak. The meat is actually like Brisket from a stew. My co-worker called it like Roast Beef. The order of Steak Taco from their Crispy Shell Taco menu is the exact same meat, Brisket meat from a stew, not steak. Same thing, both come with lettuce and tomatoes, except one on a bed of rice and the other in a stale, NOT-«Crispy» shell. The rice was good on the average side. Their shells suck, whether soft or «crispy». The only thing I kinda liked was the mush of black beans on the soft shell taco. Though the soft shell taco was hard and kinda chewy(not fresh and soft at all). I been here before two years ago but I only had a few tacos that day as a snack and thought not much more of this place, it is just another random takeout spot. A couple of run down seating arrangement. Then my co-worker gives me this menu and tells me he found this Taco place and he is calling for delivery, I tell him I am down, Deja Vu of the bad kind. I make better ish at home.
