Smiarowski is a seasonal farm stand on the scenic, although increasingly built-up, «back road» south of central Sunderland which runs parallel with the Connecticut River. Right now they have mostly annual flower plants and a few vegetables ready for planting, with some fresh local asparagus and potatoes from storage as well. During the summer and early fall they feature a wide range of local produce, usually with fair prices and sometimes, such as late summer cabbages, at really good prices! There is plenty of parking on both sides and a seasonal ice cream window as well.

Whenever I make a trip out to the Conn river valley I always make sure to stop by the Smiarowski Farm Stand for a Polish Power Plate, and to pick up whatever fresh fruits and veggies they have. Always the best! Karen and Charlie do an awesome job!

If you love Polish food and Polish people making Polish food, you should go here. The Polish Power Plate(PPP) is one of the best things you could ever eat for $ 10.

Worth a stop to see what ethnic farm stands used to be all over the US. They have some prepared foods including the«Polish power plate,» which came with: golumpki, lazy cabbage pierogi and kielbasa with rye bread and butter, potato salad and baked beans(nod to New England). When I was there in mid-May they have tremendous looking fresh local Asparagus and a bunch of potted plants/flowers to take away. Note that that payment is Cash Only.

As far as I know, this may be the only decent steamed hot dog east of the river in our area(Hadley/Amherst). I usually stop here in the summer when I’m working. The other day I got a kraut dog(homemade kraut), a bag of chips, a small dish of potato salad(again…homemade) and a coke for about $ 6 if memory serves. The staff are VERY pleasant and I’m almost always greeted with a hello and almost always said good bye to. And… come mid summer, they’ll usually have some pretty darn good half sour dills to go along with that hot dog. Now come-on, A half sour dill, a kraut dog, potato salad… the only thing that’s missing is the beer!‘ They also sell produce. And quite frankly I haven’t bought any yet. But if I needed produce at the times that I have stopped for lunch, I can assure you I’m sure that I would have.

Good farm produce and a soft-serve ice cream stand. Worth the drive.
